Error - The Google app has crashed again - what should I do?

Google Play Store is one of the applications without which the normal operation of an Android smartphone is impossible. Most importantly, it allows you to download new applications and update them. “Hell freezes over and the sky is falling” as soon as Google Play does not work or it starts producing multiple errors.

There is no proven guide to fixing these problems as there are many reasons for them. But we've put together a bunch of tips and tricks that should get the app store working again.

Current method for Meizu

Sometimes they come with a Chinese app store pre-installed, which causes glitches. To fix them, do the following.

  1. Open "HatApps" or "AppCenter".
  2. Enter “Google Installer” in the search that opens.
  3. Install it and then launch it.
  4. Click "Uninstall" and wait a bit.
  5. Now tap on “A Key To Install” to complete the procedure.

This way you will reinstall Google Play on Android.

Google Pay does not respond to the reader

If the application does not respond to the terminal at all, then you should do the following:

  1. Go to “settings” and go to “security”.
  2. Find and select “permissions”, “other”.
  3. Put “birds” where Google Pay (Android Pay).
  4. Back to “safety”.
  5. Check “automatic start”.
  6. Go to “battery and its performance”, then “charge consumption”.
  7. Click on Android Pay and select “no restrictions” and “allow”.

It would also be useful to check that the date and time are correctly set and the NFC module is turned on. If everything is in order, then try to make the payment again.

Erase Play Store cache

A cache is a great thing to have to save temporary files so you don't have to download them again regularly. Its use increases the speed of work. The downside is that sometimes old data can accumulate and function with errors. This is why it is useful to clear your cache from time to time.

To remove it for the Software Store, go to Settings - Applications. Find the Play Store that has stopped functioning and go to it. Next, open the “Storage” item and click on “Erase cache”. After that, you can try logging into the Play Store again.

Download queue due to updating other programs

If auto-update in the application is set to “Wi-Fi only” and there has been no access to the wireless Internet for a long time, then when it appears, the search begins to download software for a large number of programs at once. In such cases, all downloads that you try to activate are queued and “hanging” in the waiting list. As a result, nothing new is downloaded from the Play Store to the phone and we think that the program does not work.

There are two options here - wait until the system completes all previously started processes, or stop them and download what you need right now. The second is done like this:

  • We go to the Play Market.
  • Swipe the screen to the right to bring up the menu.
  • Go to the settings section.
  • Open “Auto-update applications” and change the checkbox to “Never”.

All running processes should stop after this and you will be able to download what you wanted. Afterwards you can return to your previous settings.

Check the list of disabled applications

Freezing unnecessary services is the right thing to do. But you should do this carefully so as not to deprive the system of an important component necessary for the full functionality of Android. It is especially important to remain vigilant when disabling system programs. What may seem unnecessary to you may be necessary for the operating system.

Go to “Settings” - “Applications”. Scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see disabled programs there. Unfreeze system services and then check if this helps.

Disable VPN and check your internet connection

If you are using an application to create a VPN connection, disable it. Then restart your phone and try using Play again.

VPN creates a secure communication channel with the servers that provide it, i.e. all traffic goes through an intermediary server, which can be configured to not allow traffic to or from Google Play. This usually doesn't happen, but disable it to check.

Try different internet connections: cellular, Wi-Fi, or another hotspot such as a friend's phone. Perhaps the problem lies somewhere in the network connection settings.

Remove Play Market

If there is no way to fix the situation, the best option would be to remove the Store. However, this is a system application and you will not be able to completely get rid of it without root access. However, Google left the option to erase the updates, that is, roll back to the stock version. After this you will be able to update it.

Go to “Settings” - “Applications” - “Play Store” and click “Uninstall updates”. Then you will have to see if it helped. If yes, simply log in and continue to use the service in peace.

Working with the application

To activate Google Pay on Xiaomi, immediately at the time of payment, you need to:

  1. Remove screen lock.
  2. Bring the smartphone (back side) to the terminal.
  3. Wait for the transaction.

If you need to pay with another card (not the one that is the main one), then first log into the application and click on the desired payment “tool”.

Perhaps the reason is Google Play Services?

Google Services is the engine that controls Android devices, provides synchronization and other important aspects. Google apps and most third-party software work in conjunction with Play Services. Therefore, violations in it are critical for the operating system. It is also important to remember about the WebView service, which is also responsible for the functioning of the system.

Like all other services, this one is subject to disruptions. Try clearing its cache and data by following the same steps described above. If this doesn't help, try uninstalling the updates.

Reboot and update

The first thing that comes to mind is to reboot Xiaomi. Most likely, Google Play stopped working due to a software glitch, and a reboot does a great job of fixing the situation.

If you see a notification that a new stable firmware has arrived, update.

If
there are new versions available
“Component Update” The updates bring many bug fixes that could likely affect the functioning of Google services. Return to content

What does the error code mean?

If the Google Play Market does not work, but a notification pops up with an error code, this is good, since the system largely tells us what is happening. Let's take a look at some of the most popular Google Play errors you may encounter.

Error 944

Those who receive error code 944 should not panic. In fact, this indicates that Google's servers are offline or there are connection problems. The obvious solution is to wait until the corporation fixes the problems.

Error 919

It signals that there is no free space on the phone! You won't be able to do anything until you free up the internal storage. Transfer data to a memory card, delete something, or move it to your computer to use the app store again.

Error 481

Hopefully no one ever sees this code because it probably means the end of your Google account. It makes it clear that you have some serious error. The only fix is to delete your account and then register a new one. You can uninstall it in the “General Settings” - “Accounts” - “Google” section.

Alternatively, you can write to the company's support service and clarify what the problem is. Perhaps this will give results and you won’t have to delete your account. We recommend you try it.

Error 505

This error is caused by applications looking for the same permission, causing a conflict. Google has tried to fix this in more recent updates, as this bug is more common on devices running Android 4.4 KitKat and older iterations.

The simplest fix is to erase the Google Play Store cache and Google services. The instructions are in the corresponding subsection above. In addition, you can uninstall and reinstall updates in the Play Store. Make sure you are using the latest software available for your Android gadget.

Error 927

This is an error that occurs when you try to download a program. But this particular code is issued if the Play Store itself is in the process of updating.

It’s best to just wait for the update and installation of the market to complete. Then repeat the installation of your software. If it doesn't work, we recommend clearing the date and cache.

Why Google Pay doesn't work on Xiaomi

The inability to download Google Pay to your Xiaomi phone or the application malfunctioning is possible for a number of reasons.

It could be:

  • the presence of a model that does not support the system;
  • bootloader that is unlocked;
  • NFC turned off;
  • installed root rights;
  • no screen lock;
  • incorrectly entered card data, etc.

Let's look at each point in more detail.

Having a device that does not support the service

Above is a list of Xiomi gadgets that can work together with Google Pay. If you have a different smartphone, then it is unlikely that you will be able to install and use contactless payment. For example, Redmi 4x and the entire line do not support contactless communication.

Google pay and loyalty cards

To obtain accurate information, it is recommended to check the smartphone settings, the “about phone” section and study its technical characteristics.

If there is no NFC item there and Android is below 4.4, then you will not be able to use the service.

Bootloader unlocked

In order for Google Pay to load onto your gadget, it is important that the bootloader is locked. Often, unlocking it leads to application download failures.

Smartphone is out of order

Think about whether you recently dropped your phone. If yes, then the reason may lie in a malfunction of the gadget. Sometimes the NFC chip itself becomes damaged. If there are no visible damages, then contact a professional. They will diagnose the gadget and tell you what happened.

NFC module disabled

If you have already installed the application, and the problem occurred at the time of payment, then check whether the contactless communication module is enabled. Activating it is simple - pull the slider or put a tick next to it.

Application updates required

If you installed Google Pay a long time ago and turned off automatic updates, simply update the program. Outdated versions may not work properly.

Incorrect date and time

Failures also occur due to an incorrectly set date. The same thing happens when there is a time zone mismatch. Setting this data manually or automatically will make the application work.

No screen lock installed

Google Pay is designed in such a way that it is impossible to add a card to the service if the screen lock is inactive. This was done for security reasons. If you cannot complete the contactless payment setup on your phone, remember if you have set a home screen lock. If not, then go to the gadget settings. You can put:

  • PIN;
  • graphic key;
  • fingerprint.

Also, do not forget that each time before payment, you will need to enter a secret combination or place your finger to confirm your identity. Without this, the transaction will not be completed.

Root rights installed

If you previously received superuser rights. Then don’t rely on successful installation of Google Pay. The service is incompatible with root. There are three options here:

  1. Refuse super user.
  2. Hide using Magisk utility.
  3. Disable temporarily.

Google Pay and root rights

Without root rights, the user can easily install Google Pay on a smartphone.

Unofficial firmware or outdated

Problems with the operation of the application on Xiaomi can also occur if the smartphone was brought into the country illegally. The security system will not allow you to download Google Pay (Android Pay) to a phone with custom firmware.

You will have to reflash the phone, but not on your own, but at a service center.

There are frequent failures on those gadgets on which the owner himself conducted experiments - he reflashed the phone with his own hands. Hacked smartphones are considered unsafe.

Also keep in mind that older firmware can also cause various programs to crash. Maybe in your case you need to make updates. Experts will help you do this.

Problem with the card

The main thing in the application is the payment “tool” loaded into Android Pay (Google Pay). If there are any problems with the card, then the payment will not go through. The most common problems:

  • minus balance;
  • blocking by the bank;
  • expired;
  • linking to a category of cards that the system does not support;
  • Incorrectly entered data into the application.

Also, before downloading the card, make sure that the financial institution that issued the payment “tool” cooperates with Google Pay.

Problems with the terminal

Sometimes the fault of the reading device is to blame. If you have any doubts about its operation, tell the cashier about it.

SIM wallet installed

For Google Pay to work properly, in the phone settings in the “location of security element” section, you need to select the HCE wallet.

Incorrect operation of the device

Sometimes inexperienced users perform incorrect actions and this becomes an obstacle to payment. In order for the reader to catch the signal, it is important to place the phone with the back panel and at a distance of no more than 10 cm.

If you were unable to find out the reason on your own, contact technical support on the official website - https://pay.google.com.

Make a Wipe Cache

To do this you will have to enter recovery. This happens differently on different smartphones (read the article where we described all the combinations), but it often helps to turn off the smartphone and then simultaneously hold down the lock key + volume down. Navigation in recovery mode is done using the volume rocker and the power button.

  1. Select "Wipe cache".
  2. Wait for the phone to do everything.
  3. Reboot it.

Another method that often helps.

Xiaomi phones with NFC module

It’s worth saying right away that for contactless payment, the smartphone must have a very important part - an NFC module (chip). And here is the main catch, since not all Xiaomi phones support this chip. The budget line, namely Redmi, does not have a module. Only the flagships were lucky:

  • Mi Mix line;
  • Mi 5;
  • Mi 6;
  • The entire Mi 8 line;
  • The entire Mi 9 line;
  • The entire Mi 10 line;
  • All Redmi K20 and K30 series;
  • All CC series;
  • POCO X2;
  • Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8T, Redmi Note 9 Pro (Pro Max);
  • Mi Note 2, Mi Note 3, Mi Note 10 (Pro).

A complete list of smartphones with NFC is available in a separate article.

Reset data

If all else fails, just do a Hard Reset. This will likely fix most of your problems as it removes everything from the smartphone and returns it to the state it was in when you activated it for the first time.

Please note that you will lose all information, so create a backup. Go to “Settings” - “System” - “Reset settings”. Click “Delete all data” there and confirm.

Now you know what to do if Google Play crashes. We want to believe that these methods will restore its functionality. If none of them help, the problem is more serious and you should contact a specialist.

What is Android Pay: advantages and disadvantages

Android Pay provides a unique contactless payment system , with which the user can pay for both online and physical purchases in a few clicks.
At the same time, not only a smartphone is suitable for payment, but also a smart watch, which is very convenient. First, you need to download the official application of the same name from Google Play and simply add your maps there. You can be sure that the security in this program is at its best and not be afraid for your funds. The same cannot be said, unfortunately, about third-party applications from unknown developers who easily steal all personal information.

The main advantages of contactless payment:

  1. There is no need to carry your cards everywhere.
  2. All information in one place.
  3. Maximum level of encryption of personal data when making a payment.
  4. The popularity of Google Pay is forcing more and more merchants to use this system.

There are also disadvantages. Do not forget that if you lose your smartphone, you face the risk of your funds being stolen. It's easy for attackers to get into Google Pay if they have your phone. The user may also encounter the following disadvantages:

  • It is necessary to have official global firmware. The system will not work on custom versions.
  • There must be no root rights. Alas, you will have to make a choice: either expanded functionality thanks to the “Superuser” mode, or contactless payment.
  • Inactive bootloader. You can find out how to turn it on and off in our articles.

How to enable Google Play on Android

Google Play services are not updated - what to do

Typically this application is a system application. It cannot be removed without root rights, and why is this necessary... However, many users have problems launching this service. When you click on the icon, the application often does not open.

Therefore, the following manipulations have to be carried out:

  1. Go to the “Applications” section by going to the smartphone settings.
  2. Next, you need to either clear the cache or delete updates by clicking on the appropriate lines. In most cases, both help.
  3. Follow the above troubleshooting methods.
  4. Download the latest version of the application from the official Google website. To do this you need to use a PC.

Sometimes Play Market is installed on the phone, which is incompatible with the Android OS version. In this case, you have to delete it and download a new application. Detailed instructions for performing this procedure can be found on the Internet.

Installation errors or corruption of the program executable file

Often the failure is manifested by constant messages “An error has occurred in the Google Play Market application.” It pops up when the user tries to launch the application or perform any action in it (search, download). And in some cases - on its own, when one of the installed programs decides to check for an update in the background.

You can try to deal with this error using the methods described above. If all else fails, the following options remain:

  • Restore the system from a backup copy (if you created it in advance, for example, in the Android gadget management program for Windows MyPhoneExplorer).
  • Remove Play Market from your device and install it again. To do this, you will need root rights (obtained in advance).
  • Perform a factory reset on your tablet or phone (Hard Reset/Wipe).

How to reinstall Play Store

  • Download or copy the Google Play Market executable file in .apk format from a properly working Android phone or tablet.
  • Enable permission to install applications from unknown sources on the problematic device. The option is located in the Security or Protection menu of the Settings app.

  • Transfer the file to the problematic device and start the installation (touch it with your finger).
  • If nothing happens or you see the Play Market error message again, open the \data\app\ directory and place the file there.

By the way, to remove the faulty copy of the Market and reinstall it, you can use the same MyPhoneExplorer. After synchronizing your phone with the program, go to the “Files” - “Applications” section, click the line highlighted in the screenshot and click the “Delete” button.

Next, click on the “Download application” icon on the top panel and specify the path to the .apk file.
