Turn on Do Not Disturb mode on iPhone
There are two ways to enable the mode: through the settings and through the control center.
Enabling via settings:
- Go to the “Settings” of the device.
- Find the tab with the crescent symbol and "Do Not Disturb" through search or manually.
- In off mode, the top switch is moved to the left side and is colored gray. To turn on the mode, press the switch. It will move to the right and turn green.
This method allows you to change settings and also schedule it to turn on and off automatically.
For quick access, use the control center. To do this, you need to swipe from the top right corner down on the iPhone X and older models, or from the bottom up on earlier models. Do Not Disturb button is represented by a crescent moon symbol and is located to the right of the orientation lock button. When enabled, the button is white and the crescent moon is purple.
You can include an additional element “Do not disturb the driver” .
- Open Settings .
- Find Control Center .
- Click on the bottom "Customize Controls" .
- The top part shows the items that are in the control center, and the bottom part shows the items that can be added.
- Select Do Not Disturb Driver . The element button contains a white car on a purple background.
If the function is already configured, it is convenient to regulate its operation through the control point.
Silencing unknown numbers
The feature first appeared in iOS13. And thanks to it, all calls from unknown numbers will be blocked. This will save you from spam, annoying offers from banks and all sorts of scammers. Therefore, after the appearance of the function, there was no longer any need to blacklist numbers.
But the effectiveness of such a measure was low, because scammers and spammers have several numbers. Unlike the previous one, the new function will allow you to block all unknown numbers at once. And what’s remarkable is that the last dialed numbers are not blocked, even if they are not in the phone book.
The same applies to those numbers with which you exchanged messages or wrote to an email address. Therefore, a call coming from an unknown number is automatically redirected to an answering machine. And you will see that you received a call in the Phone application and on the screen as an icon.
And as an option, you may receive a message that you were called from a certain number.
“Anonymous caller” - how to find out who called?
It's a rather complicated story, because in this case the iPhone does not know the caller's phone number. Yes Yes Yes. He doesn’t hide it from you, but he doesn’t know it!
What to do?
First way:
Order call details from your mobile operator.
Moreover, you don’t need to go anywhere to do this - everything can be done through your personal account. Well, then we start playing detective:
- We are studying the iPhone to determine when the call from “Anonymous” was made.
- We are looking for the appropriate time in the call details.
- Let's compare.
Victory!
Second way:
Take advantage.
Some operators provide this option. Yes, in most cases it is not free. But if you really want to find out who keeps calling you, then... why not?
Setting up an application to filter and identify telephone spam
The phone numbers that appear in your Blocked Contacts list are the ones you manually blocked.
When a call comes in, your device will check the subscriber's number against the list of numbers in the database of installed third-party anti-spam applications. If a match is found, iOS will display the appropriate app label, such as "Spam" or "Telephone Marketing." If the application detects a phone number as spam, the call may be blocked automatically. Incoming calls are not routed to third parties.
You can also block a number manually if you think its owner is spamming. Phone numbers that you manually block appear in your Blocked Contacts list.
If you no longer want to use the application, you can delete it.

When is the best time to use this opportunity?
The Do Not Disturb feature activates a completely silent mode on your iPhone, which mutes notifications and calls. It is best to set the clock when the function is activated automatically.
For example, at a certain time every evening the iPhone will go into silent mode, and then return to normal mode every morning. The function can be configured so that the phone remains silent around the clock.
How to Transfer Contacts from Android to iPhone
In Do Not Disturb mode, it is recommended to activate the ability to make repeated calls. If someone calls twice within 3 minutes, the call will not be muted. Users who do not have “Favorites” or a contact list should not use the above method, otherwise they will not be able to receive calls from anyone at all.
"Do not disturb the driver"
The “Do not disturb the driver” mode will be useful during the trip. It can also be enabled in Settings or Control Center.
“Activation” allows you to select automatic or manual activation of the function. To change the parameter, click on the button labeled “Activation”, after which a separate tab will open in which the “Manual” option is automatically selected. To enable the function when driving, select the “Automatic” option; when connecting to the car’s Bluetooth devices, select “When connected.” to the car's Bluetooth." If CarPlay is enabled, you can select the Activate with CarPlay option.
"Auto Answer" automatically sends a user-selected message to callers who attempted to make a call. When you select Recent, Favorites, or All Contacts, a second button will appear below the Auto Reply button, which you can click to select which message is sent to callers.
Do Not Disturb mode is often forgotten, although this feature allows you to concentrate on an important task or relax and spend time in silence.
Method 1 (for iOS 13 and later) How to block all calls from unknown callers on iPhone
In iOS 13, developers solved this problem by adding a feature to block incoming calls from numbers not added to the address book.
Actually, something similar could be done on the iPhone earlier by activating the “Do Not Disturb” mode and allowing “Allow Calls” for selected contacts (more on this below), but now the function is activated in just a couple of touches of the screen, and its use at certain time intervals can be called convenient.
Why do you need to block incoming calls? For example, to discourage marketers. Quite often, after registering in not the most respectable online stores or services, the user’s phone number ends up in the databases of spam calls and text mailings (by the way, text messages from unknown numbers could be prohibited back in iOS 10). In addition, a ban on unfamiliar incoming messages will protect a child or pensioner from telephone scammers, allow the debtor to avoid stressful conversations with debt collectors, etc.
Activating the function is quite simple - just go to Settings, Phone section, and activate the switch next to the “Mute unknowns” item. After this, the person who calls you from an unknown number will hear short “Busy” beeps on the handset.
It’s especially nice that after a muted call, your iPhone will receive a notification in the form of a missed call, and if the number seems familiar to you, you can simply call it back.
With the Mute Unknowns option enabled, you will continue to receive incoming calls from people in your Contacts, Siri Suggestions, and people you've recently called.

Enable blocking
This feature is very easy to activate. But just make sure that the numbers you need are in the phone book. Otherwise, neither sound nor vibration will notify you of the call. How to turn it on:
Remember: you have turned off calls coming to your phone.
But this ban does not apply to instant messengers. Therefore, to perform a similar operation for the messenger, you will have to go to the messenger settings.
Mute unknowns function
In iOS 13 and later, you can set the Mute Unknowns switch to stop receiving calls from strangers. Calls from subscribers who are not in your contacts list and with whom you have never communicated from this number will be blocked. But if you exchanged text messages with the subscriber or received his phone number via email, his calls will come.
To turn on Mute Unknowns, go to Settings > Phone, scroll down, tap Mute Unknowns, and turn it on. Calls from unknown numbers will ring silently, be forwarded to voicemail, and appear in the list of recent calls.
Incoming calls from those saved in your Contacts, Recent Calls, and Siri Suggestions will not be blocked, so you can see who's calling based on phone numbers in emails or text messages.
When you make an emergency call, Mute Unknowns is temporarily disabled for 24 hours so your iPhone can receive calls.
Before you turn on Mute Unknowns, make sure all your important contacts are saved. Otherwise, you may miss a call that is important to you. The call will be forwarded to voicemail and will appear in your recent calls list, but you will not receive a notification when the call is made.
Enable the Antispam option on Android
To permanently get rid of phone calls and spam from anonymous callers, do the following:
- Open the “Calls” section;
- At the bottom of the display on the dial pad, find 3 vertical dots (or 3 horizontal stripes, depending on the brand of the smartphone);
- Find the item “Antispam” or “Blocked”;
- Come inside and explore the possibilities provided:
- Don't forget to activate antispam mode;
- Go to the “Call Blocking” sub-item, turn on the sliders for the “Strangers” (“Unknown”) and “Hidden” categories;
- You can similarly configure the “SMS Blocking” sub-item;
- Explore and configure black and white lists. Contacts from the first one will not reach you, but from the second one, on the contrary, with full blocking turned on, they will calmly call you.
You can also configure these parameters through the main “Settings” section of the phone, in the “Calls” subsection - “Blocked” (or “Call blocking” and other synonyms).
