Today, the Play Market is the main source of games and applications for Android devices. Among the main advantages of the Google store are convenience, simplicity and high security, since all published programs are scanned by at least one antivirus. Being an application and at the same time an Internet service, the Play Market, unfortunately, sometimes itself does not work correctly, which is why the user loses access to the software catalog.

One of the most common is the DF DFERH 01 error, which occurs when downloading applications or their updates from the Play Store. It indicates a failure in packet data transfer from the server.

Indeed, malfunctions on Google servers may well cause such problems, but most often the problem lies in the device itself. An indirect confirmation of this is that users of smartphones and tablets with custom firmware usually encounter the DF DFERH 01 error in the Play Store. What steps should be taken in such a situation.

Clearing cache

If you see this error, do not rush to take drastic measures; perhaps the device simply experienced some kind of momentary failure. Check if everything is ok with the Internet connection, and then restart the gadget. If everything works, then the problem was temporary, otherwise proceed as follows. Open Settings, go to Application Manager and find the Google Play Store application in the “All” tab.

Tap on it and click “Clear cache” and “Erase data” in the data management window that opens. Perform the same manipulations with the Google Services, Google Service Framework and Download Manager applications.

Reviews

Of course, given the popularity of this error, it is not at all surprising that on the Internet you can find many reviews in which people share how they dealt with the problem:

  1. Yaroslav. My son rarely comes to me with such requests - he sets everything up himself. And then I tried to update my favorite game, and on the screen, instead of loading, a similar message pops up. I didn't rack my brain for long. Immediately, taking into account the child’s mobile activity and carelessness, I checked everything for viruses. I removed five of them and everything began to function normally.
  2. Yuri. I constantly encounter a similar situation. For my mobile phone, it is enough to clear the cache and then restart to resolve the situation in my favor.
  3. Edward. I have a very old mobile phone. Like the one from mammoth with the letter “G”. It doesn't even support serious memory expansion via SD cards. Therefore, there is often not enough space. I’m not going to change it, my phone is my favorite, so when an error occurs with this code, a dilemma always arises - what to delete and what to leave.
  4. Ulyana. We once went to visit a friend. I'm used to using Wi-Fi. It is clear that he was not in that wilderness. And somehow I urgently needed to download one program from the Play Market. There were no problems before this. I start downloading and get an error message. It turned out that I simply did not have the money to use classic mobile Internet. I had to give up downloading until I returned to the city.
  5. Fedor. I live in an area where it is very difficult to catch a net. And this error is a common occurrence precisely for this reason. I decide simply - I’ll climb onto the roof of my house and sit on the skate, holding the smartphone above my head until the installation is completed.
  6. Tamara. I've been using the Market for two years. For some reason this problem occurs to me from time to time. Although I have already changed phones three times. The solution is always the same - deleting the profile and creating a new one. After this, the problem does not occur for a long time.
  7. Igor. I once gave my smartphone to a friend. I asked him to look at everything there, clean it, get rid of what was unnecessary, and install what was useful. Returned it a week later. And I immediately couldn’t log into the Play Market. I don’t know what updates he installed, but it was after getting rid of them that the crash stopped appearing - I just rolled back the software to the original version and that’s it.
  8. Basil. I once saw the original design of his gadget from a friend. Naturally, he asked me to install the same firmware. Everything is great, but it’s impossible to download anything from the PM at all. Unfortunately, I had to return everything to its original state, since beauty without the functionality I need is useless.

Users use different methods and achieve the desired result without any problems. So if this error occurs, do not panic - just follow the instructions, and everything will be resolved successfully.

New Google account login

If clearing temporary data does not have any effect, try to resolve the DF DFERH 01 error when retrieving data from the Play Market server by logging out and logging back in to your Google account. To do this, follow the path Settings - Accounts - Google, tap on your account, call up the ellipsis in the upper right corner of the menu and select the “Delete account” option in it. Reboot your device and reconnect your account. At worst, you can create another account and log in with it.

# Manual update of Play Market

After all the resets and synchronization, you need to wait some time so that the latest version of Google Play Market is downloaded to Android. However, you can skip the wait and download the APK file to your phone and install it yourself. This is exactly what I do, but you need to look only for trusted sources to avoid viruses and pirates. The most trusted source (in my humble opinion) is Play Market with Trashbox.

After installation, it is advisable to restart the device and try to see if the DF-DFERH-01 error has disappeared.

Checking the correct date and time

The reason for the problem described above is often an incorrectly set date and time, when the failure occurs due to inconsistency between the dates and the validity periods of the licenses. Select “Date and time” in the settings and synchronize data over the network, simultaneously turning on the “Use network time zone” option. Also pay attention to the “Time Zone” parameter - it should correspond to your location.

What to do to fix the error

Fixing a fault is not difficult and does not require any special skills; even an inexperienced user can cope with the task. Let's look at what to do if error DF-DFERH-01 occurs when working with the application store on Android devices. In addition to rebooting, in some cases, turning off Wi-fi and data transfer and turning it on again works. You also need to check the date and time settings on your smartphone, and if necessary, change them manually or activate the “Use network time zone” option. If Google services fail and cause an error, you will need to clear or reinstall some data associated with the services. If there are viruses, you should scan all storage media on your Android device and eliminate the source of the problems. It is effective to use third-party utilities and computer antiviruses.

Re-add Google account

To fix this problem, you can also try to delete and re-add your Google account. According to many users, this helps to get rid of many errors associated with the Play Store. Below are the relevant instructions:

  1. Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Google
  2. Find and click on your account
  3. Remove it and then add it again

Clear cache and data

First of all, when a failure occurs with the message “Error while receiving data from the server [DF-DFERH-01],” clear the cache. Over time, a large number of different elements accumulate in the device’s memory, which can affect the correct operation of applications, so you need to periodically clear the buffer to avoid cluttering it with unnecessary data. To clear the cache memory, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Play Market parameters (“Settings” – “Applications” – “Play Market”);
  • Click “Memory” – “Clear cache” (for Android 6.0 and higher, for earlier versions the clear cache button is immediately available);
  • In addition to the cache, we also clear application data by pressing the corresponding button (“Reset settings” - “Delete application data”);

The same steps will need to be repeated for the Google Services Framework, as well as Google Services (here to reset, go to the “Manage space” section, and also click the “Delete all data” button), after which you will need to restart the device. The settings menu is slightly different for different OS versions, but the principle is the same. This simple but effective method helps to get rid of residual data, and at the same time from failures that occur due to clogged device memory. If the problem is not solved, we remove the error using other methods.

Uninstalling the Freedom app

Error DF DFERH 01 on Android in some cases is caused by the Freedom application, which modifies the hosts file in the operating system, causing the Play Market to lose the connection to the server. If this software is installed on your system, remove it by first stopping the work by clicking the button of the same name in the parameters. After uninstalling the program, you can still restart the device.

# Cleaning your device

First of all, I advise you to rid your phone of unnecessary files and system cache that has probably accumulated in the system. The latest Androids (including EMUI, MIUI) have their own cleaners. However, you can easily download the currently popular Clean Master . Of course, if the Play Market does not work, you need to download and install the latest version in APK format. You can do this from here (verified link). Run the phone through cleaning - this will eliminate any influence of the third-party cache on the connection to Google servers.

Hard Reset

In principle, we looked at the main ways to fix the DF DFERH 01 error when receiving data from the Play Market server. Usually, the above manipulations solve the problem, but if nothing helps, you will have to resort to a drastic measure - resetting the device to factory settings. In this case, all applications and personal data of the user will be deleted from the gadget, so before performing a Hard Reset, be sure to make a backup copy of them.

Causes of error DF-DFERH-01

When faced with any failure that prevents the operation of services, you should eliminate the cause of its occurrence, after which the problem will be resolved. Error DF-DFERH-01, which occurs in the Play Market, as well as failures inherent in the service with codes RPC:S-7:AEC-0 and DF-SA-01 often bother users after updating the firmware. In most cases, problems with the application's program files are to blame. Don’t worry about this, because we can resolve the issue quite quickly, and we will look at how to get rid of the problem in simple but effective ways. A download bug in the Play Market, accompanied by the message “Error while receiving data from the server [DF-DFERH-01],” may appear for a number of reasons:

  • Failure to transmit information packets;
  • Receiving data is blocked due to viruses;
  • Incorrect updates;
  • Cache overflowing with remnants of data from various applications;
  • Invalid date and time;
  • Application conflict (for example, “Freedom” may block access to resources);
  • Unsuccessful firmware update, damage to system files;
  • Hardware faults.

In the last two cases, not only the Play Market, but also other applications usually refuse to work. If this is not a one-time failure and the DF-DFERH-01 error does not disappear after rebooting the device, which very often solves many system problems, then we will consistently apply other methods, one of which will help get rid of the problem.

Resetting Google account on Android to fix error DF-DFERH-01

Another method to fix the error “Error while retrieving data from server DF-DFERH-01” is to reset your Google account on your phone. To do this, follow these steps (important: you must know your Google Account password for these steps, otherwise you may not be able to recover it):

1. Go to Settings - Accounts - Google (if there is no such subsection, just select your Gmail account in the list).

2. Click "Delete Account".

3. After deleting your account, add the same Google account again.

Radical methods

If you still get the rh 01 Play Market error, the reason may be hidden in the Google Services Framework system application. It can either be stopped or even deleted by mistake.

To fix this you need root superuser rights. How to get them is a topic for a separate article:

  1. Open the system partition /System/App.
  2. Find the Phonesky.apk and GoogleServicesFramework.apk files and check their extension, it should be rw-rr.
