What is knox samsung and how to use a secure folder

Modern smartphones are practically computers. They are actively used for reading websites, downloading various programs and other files, for communicating in instant messengers and for email correspondence. Like regular computers, smartphones and tablets are common network devices that can be subject to hacker attacks, viruses or other malware. One way or another, personal data, the most valuable thing on a device, is constantly under threat. Some manufacturers are trying to counter this.

Working with the Samsung KNOX program.

Maintenance [edit | edit code ]

Samsung Knox provides security features that allow personal and corporate data to coexist on the same phone.
The user taps an icon that switches the phone space from personal to work, without delay or reboot. The manufacturer has stated that this feature is fully compatible with Andro OS > is part of the (SAFE) offerings for smartphones and tablets. Samsung Knox's first competitor is Blackberry Balance, a service that also separates personal and work data. The name, "Samsung Knox", comes from the American military base Fort Knox.

In October 2014, the US National Security Agency (NSA) approved the Samsung Galaxy family of devices as part of the Rapid Deployment of Commercially Available Technologies program. Approved products include Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014.

In June 2022, Samsung stopped using the My Knox software and strongly recommended that users switch to an alternative product, Secure Folder.

Safety

In October 2014, a security researcher discovered that Samsung Knox stored the PIN in plain text instead of hashed and precessed it with an "obfuscated" code.

In May 2016, Israeli researchers Uri Kanonov and Avishai Wool discovered three key vulnerabilities that exist in certain versions of Knox.

KNOX counter

In Samsung devices, KNOX uses an electronic fuse (colloquially known as a KNOX meter) that indicates whether any unauthorized changes have been made to the system. Thus, after flashing the bootloader, kernel or Recovery to a custom one, as well as when obtaining root rights on the device, the electronic fuse will be activated. Once activated, the user will no longer be able to pay for purchases through the Samsung Pay mobile payment service, and the device will no longer be able to create a secure KNOX space or access data previously stored in it. This information may be used by Samsung to deny warranty service to a device that has been modified outside of the standard range. On some devices, you can reset the KNOX counter by applying the factory firmware to the phone.

What devices is the application compatible with?

This independent component can only work on Samsung Android devices.

It’s worth clarifying right away that it is not compatible with all the company’s devices, but only with Samsung Galaxy S3 and higher.

Although it is quite possible to install it on earlier models of smartphones, however, this requires certain knowledge and does not provide any guarantee that the program will work correctly.

Fig.4 Samsung Galaxy S3.

The program is based on a kind of virtual system located inside the Android OS.

Using special file system encryption, a secure working environment is created.

It is simply impossible to access it outside of KNOX. However, the possibility of reading data located outside this shell is not excluded.

What is KNOX

KNOX is a specialized add-on for the Android OS, designed to significantly increase the level of information protection on a Samsung mobile device. This system includes a set of extensions that allows you to create a secure environment on the Google platform. Among them are a special isolated zone for program execution, a 256-bit encryption mechanism and a secure boot facility.

In other words, KNOX is a secure folder in which you can install applications, transfer any files and store them there under a separate password. An application installed in this folder becomes independent from the same application installed outside the folder. This way, a messenger or social network application located in the KNOX folder can be “logged in” under a different account. Thus, on one smartphone you can have two Skypes with different accounts. If you delete an application outside the KNOX folder, it will remain in the folder. Access to protected applications is possible only with a password or fingerprint.

Samsung's KNOX also includes TIMA, an API that monitors the state of the operating system kernel and its integrity. On the user side, the add-on makes it possible to control application access to network resources through a secure VPN connection.

For users using Samsung smartphones in the corporate segment, this functionality provides a reliable mechanism for protecting confidential data from leakage. It has protection mechanisms on all main fronts, preventing network hacking of a smartphone or tablet, installation of spyware, modification of the system kernel to create “bookmarks,” as well as simple copying of files when the gadget falls into the hands of attackers.

How the Samsung Knox platform works

The Samsung Knox platform complements Android. Built-in encryption and robust hack prevention tools work together to provide a whole new level of data protection. That's why it was named after the American gold bullion depository Fort Knox. The door alone here weighs 22 tons, and its granite walls are concreted for safety. Fort Knox is a symbol of exceptionally reliable protection.

The basis of Samsung Knox is forced control of access to information. Each application is given only that information without which it cannot work properly. Therefore, there is physically no way to steal your banking information or passwords from social network accounts.

When you turn on a device running an operating system, the bootloader starts. It looks to see if basic functions are available and then loads the OS code into RAM.

Android has a Verified Boot verification mechanism. It starts during the boot phase and tests the presence of RAM, camera and other components. But sometimes malware is embedded in the bootloader code - it locks the device and intercepts data.

Samsung Knox doesn't stop working even when you turn off or restart your smartphone. The platform runs before Verified Boot and checks to see if root superuser rights are enabled, which provides access to almost all data and features, and if unofficial versions of applications have been loaded onto the device.

If the system detects root access or unofficial software, it will lock the protected data. You will be able to turn on your smartphone, but you will not be able to use protected information until you resolve all security issues.

KNOX what is it: How to remove or disable KNOX?

Wednesday 31 October 2022 00:00

Users of Samsung smartphones and tablets may ask how to disable KNOX. Some don't even know what this KNOX is. Today we will answer all questions.

Description

KNOX is an additional security system found in Samsung devices.

To put it simply, to gain access to a particular application or your account in it, it is not enough for you to enter your login and password. At the same time, you need to specify a second password, which differs from the first, a fingerprint (if the gadget supports this feature), a code word, and so on. This is done to ensure a higher level of security.

But the truth is that ordinary users have absolutely no use for this KNOX.

If you do not keep state secrets, do not have millions on your bank cards and do not have information that the Italian mafia is after, you have nothing to fear. The reason is simple - it is not profitable for a hacker to break your accounts. The goal must justify the means and effort expended.

Moreover, due to the use of KNOX, conflicts with other programs may occur.

The most common case is blocking attempts to gain access by applications that work with root rights. A message appears as shown in the figure below.

Rice. No. 1. Error related to KNOX

Therefore, one way or another, this system needs to be turned off. What will happen if you do this? There will be no additional layer of protection. You will enter passwords and logins the same way as other users around the world. There is nothing terrible in this for ordinary citizens and there cannot be.

Let's look at how the shutdown occurs below.

Standard method

This method is available to absolutely all users, even without root.

It consists of the following:

  • Open settings and open “Applications” there.
  • In the list of such, find “KNOX” and tap on it.
  • There will be a “Stop” button on the program page. Click on it. If the Turn Off option is available, use it.

Rice. No. 2. KNOX app page

A message appears indicating that this operation may cause errors. Click on “Force Stop”

Rice. No. 3. Message about possible errors

It is quite possible that you will even have access to the “Spend” button. Then you need to use it.

After this, the application will stop working. There are other ways to remove additional and unnecessary protection.

KNOX Disabler

There is a very effective Android application that can perform the task we are considering with the click of a button.

Using Disabler looks like this:

  • Obtain root rights using one of the methods listed in this article. Without this nothing will work.
  • Install KNOX Disabler (here is the download link).
  • Launch the program and click the “Disable” button. If everything went well, a message will appear at the end stating that the protection is disabled.

Why data protection is so important

In the first half of 2022 alone, 91.7% more cybercrimes were committed in Russia than in the same period last year. Imagine if we were talking about a traditional robbery - would you be able to walk the streets calmly after such news? But for some reason, smartphone users still take cybersecurity lightly.

A significant portion of cybercrimes involve the use of banking Trojans. They intercept data used to gain access to your online banking account in order to steal your funds. Data is also stolen for the purpose of blackmail or practical jokes.

Removing and disabling KNOX

There are several options to get rid of alerts that come from a secure environment. To disable notifications, you should use the KNOX Disabler utility. Its installation is only possible on rooted devices. After starting, all you have to do is press the “Disable” button.

The second option to disable notifications is to use Android Terminal Emulator. After starting and granting superuser rights, you need to enter the command “su pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid”.

Using the popular Titanium Backup application, you can “freeze” KNOX. To quickly find a safe environment in the program interface, it is recommended to use the search. After selecting all application files, just click the “Freeze” button. After completing the operation, restart the smartphone.

Complete removal of KNOX is not available on all mobile devices. To check this and, if possible, remove the add-on, you must:

  • Launch KNOX and go to settings.
  • Select the “Delete” section.
  • The system will offer to create a backup copy of the data located there. Agree or refuse the procedure.
  • Enter the password used to log into the secure environment.
  • Click “Next” and confirm the operation.

How to set up Samsung Health?

To do this you need:

  1. open settings;
  2. go to the “Programs” section, select “All applications”;
  3. select Samsung Health, in the “Energy Saving” section, select “Do not use” (or “Do not limit”).

Common errors and their solutions

The Samsung Knox app may experience intermittent problems.

The most common errors reported by users are:

  • conflicts with applications running with root rights. In order to protect the OS from outside interference, Knox blocks access to such applications to the device hardware. There is no way around this limitation. The only solution is to disable or uninstall Knox;
  • It is impossible to create a protected folder. This problem occurs on devices to which custom firmware was applied or superuser rights were obtained. Samsung cannot guarantee that Knox will work correctly on upgraded devices, so it prohibits the creation of a container. The solution to this problem is to replace the hardware and the printed circuit assembly;
  • Samsung Pay stopped working. The payment service is blocked after the Knox counter is triggered. You can restore its operation only by deleting the Samsung Knox application.

If, when purchasing a Samsung device, the packaging contains the inscription “Is protected by KNOX,” then the owner of the device can be confident in the reliable protection of his data from access by third parties. However, it should be remembered that stable operation of the KNOX application is only possible when using official firmware. Any unauthorized intervention in the system can lead to malfunctions of not only the program itself, but also the mobile device.

Samsung has rightfully gained popularity among customers with its high-quality products.

Mobile phones are no exception in this case. those who have already become the owner of a Samsung smartphone may have encountered an unfamiliar application, which is KNOX.

In this regard, a completely reasonable question could arise: Samsung KNOX what is it?

In this article we will try to understand what this application is, how it works and how, if necessary, you can disable it or completely remove it from your phone.

How Samsung Knox works in hardware

The Samsung Knox platform combines hardware and software security tools to provide a higher level of security than other software-only security tools.

During the assembly process of Samsung devices, DRK and DUHK - unique cryptographic keys - are written to them.

  • DUHK is a hardware key for checking the integrity of the gadget. It will show, for example, that the smartphone’s battery has been replaced or that a bug has been installed in it.
  • DRK is the root key. It will confirm that your gadget was manufactured by Samsung. This value cannot be copied to another device.

Knox protects your data at the processor level, too. In fact, there is a division into two independent environments. All applications run in a common zone, but there is also a Trustzone, a secure area with its own operating system. The operation of applications does not affect Trustzone, so even if malware appears on your device, it will not steal your data.

The flagship Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note20 smartphones have additional processors for security. If they discover that the temperature or voltage in the device has changed unnaturally, they will immediately report it. The processors also encrypt data in applications and prevent the counter of erroneous attempts to unlock the device from being reset.

What is KNOX?

KNOX is positioned by Samsung as a secure environment for applications installed on your phone. This environment is implemented as a software add-on to the Android OS, which allows you to create a kind of “closed area” on your phone (the so-called “KNOX container”) where you can place the files you need. Access to this area can only be achieved by entering the appropriate password (combination of numbers, fingerprint, etc.).

In addition to having the “KNOX container” function, this application allows you to monitor the integrity of the system kernel and its bootloader, provides a secure boot function for the OS, offers the ability to obtain a FIPS-certified VPN client, allows you to remotely delete data from a lost smartphone, and so on.

For KNOX to work, you need a fairly modern gadget (Galaxy S3 and newer)

I also draw the attention of readers to the fact that Samsung KNOX refuses to work with rooted and custom firmware of smartphones. What is this KNOX application? We have analyzed it, now we will learn how to use the development from Samsung

With Samsung KNOX, the security of your data will be under reliable protection

How the platform protects your most important data

The Knox platform encrypts bank card information in the Samsung Pay service and sends it to a separate memory area. When paying, instead of a card number, a token is generated and transferred. This is a string of numbers valid for only 30 seconds. The bank sees only this token, and personal data is not sent during payment. After this, all that remains is to confirm the payment with your fingerprint - and here the system will also transmit an encrypted code, and not your biometric information.

If hackers try to break into your smartphone, Knox will protect you. The system will immediately disable payment via Samsung Pay and access to encrypted information. This way, attackers will not be able to take advantage of your money, photos or accounts.

Knox also encrypts data for Samsung Pass. She recognizes you by your fingerprint, a photo of your face or your iris. The platform reliably protects this data, and a convenient authorization mechanism replaces manually entering passwords.

Finally, Knox protects your lifestyle and health information from the Samsung Health app. This means that no one will know how your heart rate changes, how many calories you consume, how much water you drink, or what poses you chose for today’s yoga class.

Advantages and disadvantages of Samsung My KNOX

I’ll start by listing the obvious “advantages” that can be identified based on numerous user reviews:

  • The software guarantees an impeccable degree of protection;
  • The interface is extremely simple, in Russian;
  • Using Knox you can track the location of the gadget if it has been lost;
  • When your phone is stolen, you can actually block/delete all data remotely, through a Web browser (you will need to first create a Samsung account);
  • There is a VPN function for visiting blocked resources on the Internet;
  • This creates a minimal load on the resources of the mobile device.

But there are also several “disadvantages”:

  • Some features of the Knox app are only available with root access, and not all users are willing to risk rooting;
  • Through Knox you can install only official software from Google Play;
  • High efficiency and stability of operation is achieved only on Samsung devices. The software will work on other models, but the developers cannot guarantee any crashes or crashes.

Not long ago, similar software was released with improved encryption algorithms and expanded functionality - Secure Folder. It consumes less battery, but is compatible exclusively with smartphones/tablets of the Korean brand.

Reviews

KNOX, which has mixed reviews, has both disadvantages and advantages. The advantages include a high level of protection, user-friendly interface, ease of use, blocking the device at a distance (for example, if lost) and remote search.

However, not everything is so rosy. Many tablet and mobile phone owners complain about frequent application crashes. Messages constantly appear on the screen informing you that the program is unlicensed or downloaded from an unauthorized source. Turning off notifications is quite difficult. In order to help owners of such devices, the article describes some ways to solve this problem.

How to work with KNOX Samsung

To work with the Knox functionality, you need to install the “Samsung My Knox” application on your phone, available in the Play Market (on some Samsung gadgets it is already preinstalled by the manufacturers themselves).

After installing the application and completing registration, the program will offer you to copy the applications you need to the protected KNOX area, essentially creating their protected copies.

Then you will need to configure the unlock method (password, PIN, pattern, fingerprint, two-step verification). After determining the locking method, complete the “KNOX” setup.

Let's get started with KNOX

Launch the Samsung application on your desktop, go to its options and click “Block”. Now, to access applications hosted in the KNOX container, you will need to enter the previously specified password.

To add other applications to the KNOX container, you need to go to the settings of this application and select the “Add application” option.

If you want to transfer any random file to the KNOX container, you will need to long press on this file in “My Files”, select “Options” at the top, and then “Transfer to KNOX”. Now, when you launch this application, you will find the specified file in its storage.

What is KNOX and how to configure it:

How to use the Knox feature and secure directory

When Knox is installed on a Samsung phone, it will turn on when the device starts, checking the kernel for integrity. If no interference is detected, the device starts as normal. Every program running in the Knox environment is also tightly controlled. The system monitors the application, and if it tries to perform any unusual actions, it is blocked.

A special functionality that Knox provides is the secure section of the phone “Secure Folder”. A regular directory with password protection can be found in Google Play - there is nothing unusual here. But Secure Folder is fundamentally different from these programs. It allows you not only to store files, but also to open copies of applications on the device with other accounts.

By the way, we talked about other useful built-in functions separately:

  • How to make a double screen so you can work in two applications at the same time?
  • Samsung bixby artificial intelligence assistant - what is it?
  • Forget about complex passwords - use Samsung Pass

In fact, having learned about Knox Samsung, you can combine private and corporate accounts on one phone, or just your second accounts and work in them simultaneously. Moreover, the second set of profiles will be protected much better than the first. Neither colleagues, nor family, nor someone else like a customs officer at the border will be able to even see these duplicate applications and your private files. After all, the entrance to the catalog is protected by one of the tools of your choice: a password, a PIN code or biometrics, the scanning of which is supported by the phone. Below I will tell you all the nuances of how to use the Samsung Secure Folder.

How to create and login

So, how to create a protected folder on Android Samsung:

  • Go to Settings.
  • In the "Biometrics and Security" section, find the "Secure Folder" item.
  • The “Secure Folder” setup will begin.
  • Next, you can configure access to the Knox directory and its security. Among the points, one of the most important is the unlocking method.
  • You can also completely hide the catalog so that it is not displayed anywhere and cannot be found through search.
  • After configuring the functions, a Knox-protected directory is created. It already has a default copy of the Camera, Gallery and some others applications. If you use the first one and take a photo, the image will end up in this protected gallery.
  • You can add files and applications using the menu.
  • There is also an additional option to rename the Knox directory and change its appearance. This is very convenient because you can disguise important storage as some trivial program or directory.

Where is the protected directory located?

To answer where the Samsung protected folder is located, you need to know whether you created it and hid its visibility, as in the previous step. The easiest way to find a protected folder in Samsung is by using a search. Enter "folder" or "Folder" and you will see it in the results. You can manually detect it on one of the Samsung screens. Transferring a protected folder on Samsung to another location on the desktop or to another screen is done as for a regular shortcut, by dragging and dropping.

If you cannot find the directory this way, go to “Settings” – “Biometrics and Security” – “Secure Folder”. You can launch it and customize the display. This is the answer to the question of how to open a protected folder on Samsung - it all depends on your settings.

How to transfer files and applications

To transfer files or applications to this directory, use the buttons at the top. This method is also about how to move photos to a protected Samsung folder.

  1. Open the program.
  2. Use one of the buttons, for example “Add application”.
  3. The system will display all available applications, as well as buttons that allow you to install new ones from the Application Store.
  4. Just add the program you need.

This is a very simple operation, but it is very effective. Even if the phone is lost and someone unlocks it, they will not have access to the information stored here. And accounts opened on applications placed here will not display their messages on the main screen, so that someone could read them.

Application operation

During its launch, the operating system kernel is checked for unauthorized access.

In fact, the presence of such a shell completely eliminates the possibility of unauthorized persons making changes to the OS on the subject.

In fact, this is what happens.

However, with an overall positive trend, a drawback should also be mentioned, even if it is not significant.

When the KNOX program is installed on a smartphone, root access to the device does not work correctly.

However, not every owner of a Samsung mobile device needs to obtain these rights.

After the kernel check is completed, the Knox program will monitor automatically launched applications.

This will forcefully terminate the activity of those that do not have user permission to run in the background.

Any application located inside a secure shell is fully managed and monitored for exceeding the existing access level.

This feature prevents one or another program from gaining access to functions that do not correspond to it.

The security of corporate data from unauthorized copying is built on (virtual private networks) at a time when home and public networks still remain unprotected.

Principle of operation

KNOX (what kind of application it is, described above) is an independent component of the Android operating system. Compatible with devices starting from Galaxy S3. It is not officially installed on earlier devices, but theoretically this is possible.

How does this application work? Let's look at the example of Skype. The user must log in to the program in order to access the functions. This is done using a previously registered login and password. However, if KNOX is installed on the mobile device, a second account (additional) is created. It is he who is in the protected zone. To enter it, you will need to enter a password different from the previous one, or use a fingerprint scanner. The KNOX account is independent. If you delete Skype on your device, it will remain in a protected application.

How to use Samsung Secure Folder

In the summer of 2022, company representatives announced the termination of support for KNOX, recommending that users switch to a new product - “Secure Folder”. In this regard, some owners of Samsung smartphones had a reasonable question about how to use it.

In fact, everything is very simple, to activate a protected folder, you should:

  • Using the desktop shortcut, launch the application.
  • Read the information provided and click “Launch”.
  • Click “Login” or “Create”.
  • Set a password, select a lock type.

Now you can start using the protected folder. To add files there you need:

  • In the running application, select “Add files”.
  • Specify documents in Explorer and click “Finish”.
  • Select an action: move or copy files.

To remove documents from a protected folder, you will need:

  • Open the file in the application.
  • Click on the three vertical dots and select “Move from Secure Folder.”

note

Using the described method, you can disable application protection.

The KNOX system is primarily designed for corporate clients and is designed to stop industrial espionage. Ordinary users can use it to protect personal information, as well as find their phone if it is lost. It is recommended to use "Secure Folder" on new smartphones as the application continues to be updated and supported by the company.

Possible problems

If there are problems with the system, then the problem is most likely due to rooting the phone or installing a custom recovery. The program may also remind you too often about installed unlicensed applications. These issues can be resolved either by uninstalling Knox or by flashing the phone.

It’s another matter if you forgot your password, “lost” a folder, or cannot open the “Secure Folder”. In this case, please refer to the instructions below.

By the way, how to open a Samsung protected folder on a computer was created exclusively for mobile security. The data is encrypted, so it cannot be opened on a PC. All problems and questions about how to check Knox on Samsung need to be solved only on a smartphone.

If you forgot your password, the catalog will not open

The methods for unlocking a protected folder on Samsung are chosen by the user himself:

  • 4-digit PIN code;
  • password;
  • graphic password;
  • face recognition system;
  • retinal scanner;
  • and others.

It all depends on the capabilities of the phone and the version of the program. But if you have forgotten the password for your Samsung Protected Folder, then, unfortunately, you will not be able to recover it. But you won't lose your data. You can reset your password through Samsung Account: through the website or using your phone. Of course, you must remember your Samsung account information. And then you will assign a new password, and your data will not be affected.

How to reset the password on a Samsung protected folder:

  1. On the password entry screen, tap Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your Samsung Account details.
  3. Enter "reset password".
  4. Select a new method for logging into the protected section.
  5. Enter a new password.
  6. Now you can enter the Samsung secure folder.

"Secure Folder" is missing

If you have lost a protected folder in Samsung, then first of all, check it in “Settings” – “Biometrics and Security” – “Secure Folder”. Look at its options and settings - perhaps you accidentally hid its display or it has not yet been created at all.

If you accidentally deleted data earlier, then the answer to the question of how to restore a protected folder on Samsung turns out to be more difficult. You may have backed up “Secure Folder” to Samsung cloud storage. Then you can restore it from there. But in most cases, there should be no problems with this system - it was created to ensure data security.

So, Samsung's Knox Secure Folder is a great tool that provides serious security in our open data world. I hope that thanks to this article you will not have any problems setting it up and working with Secure Folder.

What were the problems with Knox?

Applications that run outside of Knox's influence have limited access to stored data. While many people wouldn't question this information, many developers have a different opinion, including Chainfire, which created the popular TriangleAway app designed to reset your device's flash counter, and SuperSU.

The problem is that Knox's security prevents access to multiple apps when you root your device, and can cause issues with your warranty since modifications to your phone will disable the flash counter (and prevent it from resetting to zero).

Applications outside of Knox's reach have less access to stored data.

The reason that is controversial is that Knox works with eFUSE (auto-configuration technology) used to track when a device has been modified. This means that Samsung could use Knox data to deny user support requests during the warranty period, as this would indicate that the device was damaged by the user.

Samsung has already included a counter in the bootloader that tracks how many times you've modified the OS. The problem is that applications running outside of Knox have limited access to stored data, and therefore applications developed by the modding community are negatively impacted.

Checking work

The KNOX security system has a built-in guarantee bit (counter). This is a one-time electronic fuse that records actions such as upgrading with custom versions of the kernel, bootloader or Recovery mode, as well as obtaining root rights. Information about all these changes can be viewed when entering download mode. To do this, with the device turned off, you need to type and hold the following key combination until the context menu appears: Power, Home, “Volume Up”. Select “Go to bootloader” from the menu. A small block with the necessary information will appear in the upper left corner of the device. If 0x0 is written in the warranty void line, and Official is specified in the System status, then there is nothing to worry about, the phone has not been subject to unauthorized intervention.

The value 0x1 appears on the indicator after the fuse trips, and the Custom status indicates unlicensed firmware

How to disable Knox

There are several ways to disable Knox, which will also allow you to use apps like SuperSU or RootChecker again.

However, you won't be able to reset the flash counter because the "set bit guarantee" included in the official Android 4.3 update doesn't allow bootloader downgrading.

Samsung's support page provides the following information, which is only valid for devices running Android 4.3, such as the Galaxy S3:

  • find the Knox application, launch it and select the “Settings” section;
  • then select “Knox Settings”;
  • click on the “Uninstall Knox” icon;
  • When uninstalling Knox, you will be asked if you want to back up your Knox data. If you say yes, a copy will be saved in your device's Knox folder during the uninstallation process. To back up your data, select the "Backup Now" option and then click on "OK".

Press the soft key to bring up a menu containing Knox settings.

Important note: personal data such as photos, music files, contacts and calendar events are copied during uninstallation. This ignores email and application data.

  • Enter your Knox password and click on the “Continue” icon;
  • Now select “Next”. Your data will be retained until the deletion process is completed;
  • click on "OK" to remove Knox;
  • follow the scheme “Menu> My Files> All> Knox. You should find a zip file containing your personal Knox content. If you have a microSD card, your steps will look like this: All > Device Storage > Knox.

If the option provided by Samsung doesn't trust you, you can follow these steps (which require root access):

  • install Root Explorer;
  • launch Root Explorer and enter the word “Knox” in the search bar;
  • select all files named Knox.
  • delete the selected files and reboot your Samsung device.

In Root Explorer, simply find and delete all Knox-related files.

If the above methods don't work or you're still not satisfied with the results, the XDA Developers forum can also share a file to uninstall Knox using the Recovery option:

  • backup all data from your device;
  • flash the following file provided by XDA developers: KNOX removerV2.1.zip;
  • delete all files marked Knox.
  • restart the device.

Method #5: Using Explorer

  • Download the free file manager Root Explorer from Google Play
  • Go to the “/system/app” directory and delete the 6 files described in method 4.
  • Reboot your phone

Now you know the simplest methods on how to remove Samsung Knox from a smartphone or tablet. If you still decide to keep this utility, you can download the official instructions.

How to remove KNOX?

All owners who have the Android 4.3 or higher operating system installed on their mobile devices will benefit from the KNOX application. Unfortunately, it sometimes causes some inconvenience, so many people want to remove it completely. But they don’t know how to do it. Let's look at a few ways.

  • Without root rights. Suitable only for those who have the original firmware installed. In the list of applications installed on your phone, you need to find KNOX. Log in (launch). Now you need to call the context menu, in which you find the “Delete” item. When uninstallation begins, the device will ask you to create a backup copy. Causes of burning

Let's try to figure out why there is a burning sensation in the stomach. This can be difficult to do. It’s not always the fault of simple overeating or fatty foods.

After meals

A burning sensation in the stomach after eating most often occurs either due to junk food or due to improper consumption. And even more so if there are predisposing factors, for example, a damaged mucous membrane. Food has an irritating effect on sensitive nerve endings, causing inflammation and a burning sensation.

The reasons may be different:

Spicy, fried, salted, fatty, smoked, pickled. Such foods may contain carcinogens, trans fats, various toxins, acids and other irritants. Rough food. Due to the large amount of fiber it contains, it causes mechanical irritation, like sandpaper. As a rule, these are fruits, vegetables, and bran bread. Citrus fruits, pineapples, other sour fruits, including due to the high content of ascorbic and other acids. Dairy products with high acidity. Alcohol of any strength

It doesn’t matter what, be it wine, beer or all kinds of cocktails. Prolonged fasting.
