How to completely remove MediaGet from your computer, methods for removing Torrent client

There are various rumors circulating on the Internet about MediaGet, a clever torrent client with a media player (in English it means “torrent client”). Someone sings its praises on the forums and can’t get enough of it: click or two with the mouse, wait a little, and again - all the desired content is already on the PC, and you can watch and listen to media files right while downloading. And there are also indignant users about MediaGet. But we won't go into details about the app's ratings. Since this article is intended to help everyone who wants to remove Mediaget from their computer completely. Regardless of the user’s mood: for example, you didn’t like the program, it turned out to be useless, or you need to reinstall it, etc.

There are at least three ways to uninstall MediaGet. Let's take a step-by-step look at how to use them.

Removal via CCleaner

You can also remove MediaGet from your computer completely and completely using specialized system cleaning programs. Let's show it using CCleaner as an example.

Launch it and go to the “ Service ” tab.

There, in the “ Uninstall programs ” section, find MediaGet, select it with the mouse and click on the “ Uninstall ” button.

After confirming your action, the uninstallation process will start and after a few seconds MediaGet will be removed from your computer.

MediaGet is the easiest known way to download movies, music and other programs, however, sometimes even such useful applications have to get rid of because they are no longer needed. However, after uninstalling the program, files remain that are called residual files, as well as registry entries. This article will tell you how to completely remove MediaGet from your computer.

A couple more important points

If Media Get loads the processor and there is a suspicion of a virus infection, then in addition to the above instructions, you need to run a scan for malicious scripts. I recommend the DrWeb CureIt utility. It is better to run it in safe mode so that attackers cannot block the scanner’s capabilities.

Please note that the torrent client can work in hidden mode (not only on the computer, but also on the phone), consuming Internet traffic during distribution. Therefore, if you intend to use the software, do not forget to stop the download after downloading a movie, game or other content (so that the distribution stops).

Sincerely, Victor!

MediaGet Uninstallation Methods

Technically, MediaGet is no different from any other Windows program, so you can remove it using either third-party uninstaller applications or system tools.

Method 1: Revo Uninstaller

Simple and convenient, Revo Uninstaller is one of the best third-party solutions for removing various software.

After installation, launch the program and find the “MediaGet” item in the list.

Now click on the “Delete” button.

Now we wait for the program to be uninstalled and click on the “Scan” button, having previously set the scanning mode checkbox to “Advanced”.

  • After scanning the system for residual files, in the window that appears, click “Select All” to clear the registry of unnecessary information, then click “Delete”.
  • If the window does not close automatically, click “Finish”. And that's it, MediaGet is no longer on your computer.

    Method 2: Uninstall Tool

The second tool that will help us get rid of MediaGet is the Uninstall Tool application. This tool works in the same way as Revo Uninstaller, but it scans the system more thoroughly in search of residual data from the program being removed.

Open the program and find the “MediaGet” position. Select it and use the “Uninstall” button.

Click Yes to confirm the removal process.

The file system and registry scanning procedure will begin automatically. Upon completion, you will be offered a list of files and keys associated with MediaGet. Select the ones you need and click “Delete”.

Important! The ability to remove traces in the registry is only available in the full version of the program!

Uninstal Tool is a good alternative to Revo Uninstaller, albeit a paid one.

Method 3: Windows 10 Settings

If you need to uninstall MediaGet on a machine running Windows 10, you can use the built-in program uninstaller in Settings.

Call “Settings”, it will be most convenient through the combination Win + I. Next, open the “Applications” item.

There should be a “MediaGet” item in the list, click on it.

Use the "Delete" button.

Click “Uninstall” again to begin uninstallation.

A window will appear in which the system will ask for permission to run the uninstaller, click “Yes”.

  • A dialog box will appear again, this time from the program uninstaller, click “Yes” again.
  • After a few moments, Mediaget will be completely uninstalled.

    Method 4: Programs and Features

A universal method for removing applications for all versions of Windows is the Programs and Features snap-in. You can also use it to remove MediaGet.

Open the Run tool using the Win+R keyboard shortcut, enter the name appwiz.cpl in the text line, then click OK.

Wait for the list to load, then find the “MediaGet” entry in it, highlight it and click “Delete/Change” on the toolbar.

  • Click “Yes” to begin removing Mediaget from your computer.
  • After a short uninstallation procedure, the torrent client will be completely removed.

    Cleaning the registry

When removing MediaGet using system tools, you may also need to clean the registry. It is almost impossible to do this manually - MediaGet leaves garbage records in the form of random alphanumeric combinations - so for this purpose it is best to use a specialized application, such as CCleaner.

Run the cleaner after installing it. In the main menu of the program, go to the “Registry” item.

Make sure that all items are checked in the menu on the left, then click on the “Scan for Issues” button.

Wait until the application scans the registry data, then use the “Fix Selected Issues” button.

The system will prompt you to create a backup copy of the registry before starting the procedures, do as you wish.

Usually SeaCleaner offers to fix problems one at a time or all at once. The last option is much more convenient, so click “Fix All Selected Issues”.

  • At the end of the procedure, click “Close” and close the application. To be sure, you can also restart your computer.
  • This way the registry will be cleared of residual traces of the deleted MediaGet.

    Conclusion

We looked at methods for removing the MediaGet torrent client and found out that you can remove this application using both third-party tools and tools built into the system. In the latter case, however, you cannot do without a third-party registry cleaner.

There are two ways to remove a program:

    1. “Start” → “All Programs” → “MediaGet” → “Uninstall MediaGet”.

    2. “Start” → “Control Panel” → “Add or Remove Programs” → “Uninstall MediaGet”.

Be careful, removing the MediaGet shortcut from your desktop will not remove the program itself. Also, we do not recommend uninstalling the program by deleting the “MediaGet” folder from the “Program Files” folder. This method will not completely remove the program. The only correct way to remove the MediaGet program is the method described above.

In previous versions of the program, there were cases where MediaGet remained in processes running on the PC. To remove a program from processes, you need to open the task manager using the keyboard shortcut ctrl+alt+delete, in the “Processes” tab, find MEDIAGET.EXE and click “End process”. Next, remove the program itself using the method described above.

Method #1: Activating the standard Windows option

If you are well versed in Windows and do not want to install and download additional programs to get rid of the torrent client, then this method is definitely for you. A little patience and attention, and the software will be successfully neutralized.

Note. Uninstallation is discussed using the example of version 2 of Mediaget.

Let's start cleaning: 1. Before deleting: if the application is running, find its icon in the tray.

    2. Right-click on it, and then in the menu that appears, select the “Exit” command.

To be on the safe side, you can track the program processes:

    • press the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc;
    • go to the “Processes” tab;
    • look through the list, if you find a process called “mediaget”, right-click on it, then activate the “end process” command.

Attention! All objects related to the software must be disabled so that they do not interfere with the correct uninstallation.

    3. Now that all torren client modules are “de-energized,” you need to go to the uninstall programs section.

    To access:

    • press Win+R together;
    • in the “Open” line enter the command - appwiz.cpl;
    • Click "OK".

    For those who are not very familiar with system directives, we provide another option for moving to the section. You will have to work a little with the mouse: click the “Start” button (the strip of buttons at the bottom of the display);

Complete removal of MediaGet from your computer

MediaGet is the easiest known way to download movies, music and other programs, however, sometimes even such useful applications have to get rid of because they are no longer needed. However, after uninstalling the program, files remain that are called residual files, as well as registry entries. This article will tell you how to completely remove Media Get from your computer.

Uninstalling any program is a fairly simple process that hides many different operations. Unfortunately, regular uninstallation will not help in completely removing MediaGet. But the simple and convenient Revo Uninstaller program will help.

    Download Revo Uninstaller

Complete removal of Media Get using Revo Uninstaller

To begin, download the program from the link above and install it by simply clicking on the “Next” button.

After installation, run the program and find MediaGet in the list of programs.

Now click on the “Delete” button.

We wait until the program creates a backup copy of the program and in the window that appears, where we are asked about the desire to remove MediaGet, click “Yes”.

Now we wait for the program to be uninstalled and click on the “Scan” button, having previously set the scanning mode checkbox to “Advanced”.

We wait until the system is scanned for residual files. And in the window that appears, click “Select all” (1) to clear the registry of unnecessary information. After that, click “Delete” (2).

If the window does not close automatically, click “Finish” (2). And that's it, MediaGet is no longer on your computer.

In this very interesting way, we were able to remove Media Get from the computer without leaving a trace of it. Of course, you could use the standard “Control Panel”, but in this case there would be more than 100 extra entries in your registry. Over time, such entries become more numerous, and the computer begins to freeze.

We are glad that we were able to help you solve the problem.

Poll: did this article help you?

    Method No. 3: Soft Organizer

Using the uninstaller program may seem difficult only for novice users. And, if you are one, we strongly recommend that you do not rush to conclusions. Everything is also simple and easy. And cleaning, by the way, is better when using such a program.

Note. The instructions cover removal using Soft Organizer. But nothing prevents you from using some other analogue of this utility if necessary. There are a great many of them on the Internet, paid and free. For example, Revo Uninstaller, Uninstall Tools, etc.

    1. Install and launch Soft Organizer on your PC.

    2. Click on the MediaGet program directory.

    3. In the top panel, click the “Uninstall a program” button.

    4. Wait a moment: the utility will perform the analysis.

    5. When prompted for confirmation, select Yes.

    6. After performing the standard uninstallation (activating the built-in uninstaller of the torrent client), click “Find” in the Soft Organizer window.

    7. Get rid of all MediaGet remnants detected by the utility in the registry and file directories.

    8. Press the “Finish” button to complete the cleaning procedure. Close Soft Organizer.

In general: any of the above methods has its pros and cons. The first one does not require additional programs. The second one eliminates the need to search for the panel to remove programs. The third one performs a complete system cleanup with virtually no user intervention.

    Remove Mediaget completely

There are a lot of instructions for installing any programs on the global network. However, there is little information on the Internet regarding software disposal. Therefore, users search for it in various available ways. In particular, they are interested in how to completely remove Mediaget from a personal computer.

Removing Mediaget is quick and easy

Preliminary steps before deleting Media Get

The utility itself is a good piece of software. However, there are various reasons that push users to erase the torrent client. This could be the presence of advertising that interferes or simply annoys people.

Mediaget is an excellent program for downloading files

Before uninstalling the software, you need to uncheck the box in its main settings next to the line “Run with Windows”. There should also be no marks next to the names of browsers such as Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

These steps must be performed if the program is integrated into browsers. After completing them, you must remember to first press the “Apply” button and then the “OK” key. Also on our portal you can find out how to remove other torrent clients, for example, Zona and uTorrent.

In addition, in the settings of the browser itself, you need to look at the presence of extensions for this utility. Add-ons must be disabled if their presence is detected. You also need to open the “Task Manager”. Here the user will need to complete the process.

Go to Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc

Basically, this action is carried out if an old version of the torrent client is installed on the computer. To carry out this procedure in Windows XP, you need to right-click on the toolbar. It is located next to the tray and not far from the clock.

Select a task and stop it

After this, select the desired line in the window that appears. Then the “Processes” tab opens, and then mediaget.exe is highlighted. At the end, click on the “End process” button and click on the “Yes” button in the warning window.

Instructions for removing Media Get from your computer

To perform this procedure, you can use one of two methods. In the first option, the following actions are performed:

  • The “Start” button is pressed.
  • Select the “All programs” item.
  • Unnecessary software is being sought.
  • Click “Delete”.
  • In the second case, you must first go to the “Control Panel” through “Start”. Next, select “Add or Remove Programs”. After this, an unnecessary torrent client is searched for and eliminated.

Regardless of the chosen option, “tails” from the software will remain in the registry. It is recommended to use CCleaner to clean such residual files. This program can be downloaded for free on the developer’s official website.

The interface of this utility will be intuitive for any user. Therefore, it will not be difficult for anyone to perform the necessary actions with its help.

    Reason 1: blocked by antivirus

If security software does not allow you to download MediaGet and then open it, you should make an exception for the program's executable file.

Using the Avast program as an example:

    1. Right-click AVAST on the taskbar and click “Open Avast User Interface.”

    2. In the main window, click on the gear. You will go to settings.

    3. Scroll to the bottom of the General section and open Exceptions. There, click “Browse”.

    4. Check the box next to the Media Get folder and click OK.

Now, if you run Media Get, it will open. Try this method if the application freezes on startup or has problems downloading.

MediaGet what is this program and is it needed?

Hello friends Many programs have developed on the Internet recently, some of them are incomprehensible to me and many users, and others, in turn, can also be dangerous... Today our guest is the MediaGet program, I will try to tell you what kind of program it is and whether it is needed she is for you.

So MediaGet is a kind of torrent client that allows you to download files on the Internet, from where I still don’t understand (but then I finally understood!), because all this is already searched in the program. Let's first look at this program, and then I will write some of my conclusions regarding it.

You can download MediaGet for free without viruses on the official website, for this in Yandex or Google just write mediaget download and the first link should be the official website. Well, so that you have no doubts, here is a picture from the Yandex search engine, I hope everything is clear:

By the way, before everything was not so smooth. I mean that Yandex used to consider the MediaGet site to be viral, and here is confirmation of this:

In general, this is a reason to think...

Then there will be a big DOWNLOAD button on the site, click it and the program will start downloading. But it often happens that this program gets onto the computer in some incomprehensible way! But I don’t know how this all happens, I just read reviews on the Internet that for many it came out of nowhere. These are the miracles

After which I started installing the program:

There was nothing like this during installation; MediaGet, like many programs, tried to infiltrate the system as much as possible:

This implementation can be reduced, just uncheck unnecessary boxes

I thought that was all, but it turned out not! Also, when installing MediaGet, it was suggested to download Yandex Browser and some of its elements! Yandex Browser is good, it seems to me, but sticking it in like this when installing almost every program is somehow not very good:

So if anything, uncheck these boxes if you don’t need Yandex Browser or if you already have it. But damn, I thought that was all for sure, but here’s the bummer - we are also offered to install Anti-Virus 360, well, just offer after offer! In general, if anything happens, you can also uncheck it here:

That’s it, then finally the program was installed and didn’t offer anything else!

This is what MediaGet looks like:

Now let’s try to find something here, well, for example, I entered the OpenOffice office suite (by the way, it is completely free, unlike Microsoft, so I recommend it) and these are the results I was given:

As you can see, there are results and there are a lot of them! Now let's try to download something, it's easy to do - click on this button:

It’s better to download where there are a lot of stars in the Speed column, otherwise it may happen that there will be no speed if there are few distributors

After I clicked the button, the following window for adding a torrent popped up:

That is, here you can change where it will download, you can download it later or immediately. If you click the More details button, there will be a list of files and, for example, if you don’t need some, you can uncheck them. Well, that is, nothing special, although everything is done conveniently

In general, I clicked Download now, the Downloads tab opened, where all the downloads go. That's where I saw everything I needed, the download itself, speed, and loading status. Again, everything is done conveniently! There is even a Folder button that you can click to immediately open the folder where the file is downloaded! This is the tab:

I didn’t notice any special flaws in the program, there are advertisements, but it’s not too big and not stupid.

On the Media Player tab, you can watch a video without downloading it:

I tried to play some kind of joke, well, a video with a joke, I wrote a part of it like cat jokes and then I clicked on this button to start the video:

What happened next? Then the Media Player tab automatically opened and the video began showing. While the video is loading for viewing, some smart quotes are written at the bottom of the program, you can read and become smarter...

Unfortunately, I waited and waited, but still didn’t get a joke about a cat, this message popped up at me:

This is probably because there were no distributors on the download. In general, I couldn’t watch another video, although the download started and stopped at 6%... My Internet doesn’t seem to be the slowest, in general, I don’t know what kind of problem it is, but most likely it’s just me..

So all the functions seem to work in MediaGet.

So what else can I say about MediaGet? I rebooted the computer and noticed an icon in my tray, although I didn’t immediately realize that it was the MediaGet icon:

When I clicked on the icon, the main MediaGet window appeared. In the task manager, the program sits under the mediaget.exe process:

The process seems to be the same. MediaGet is installed in this folder:

I also noticed that there is an entry on the Startup tab (System Configuration window, which is called up with the Win + R buttons):

    Why do this?

Each user may have their own individual reason. For example, I accidentally downloaded and installed this software. I used it for several days, I didn’t really like it - a lot of advertising, constant imposition of unnecessary software.

On forums, people write that they fell for a tempting offer on one of the resources. But after trying to install the application on a PC, the antivirus removes MediaGet, swearing at its components. The thing is that you need to download the utility exclusively from the official page, otherwise you can catch a virus.

In general, there can be many reasons why people want to remove unnecessary software. I suggest we get to the point.
