Modern smartphones are equipped with two SIM card slots. This is convenient, since owners of mobile devices do not need to buy an additional gadget for a second SIM card.
How to set up two SIM cards on Android?

Why set up SIM cards?
This needs to be done in order to receive calls only on one or two SIM cards at the same time, and also to be able to access the Internet from the selected SIM card, as well as distribute Wi-Fi.
An Android phone is essentially a small computer, so many computer approaches can be applied to it. Namely, the configuration of SIM cards occurs in hardware and software (hardware + software).
For example, if you enable only one SIM card on your phone programmatically, that is, make it active, and leave the second SIM card inactive, but do not disable it in hardware, then you will eventually see a crossed out circle icon on your phone. This icon means that the phone has two SIM cards, but one of them is empty, or rather, it is not in the phone.

Dual SIM settings
If dual SIM is supported, you can use two SIM cards in one phone (for example, one for work and one for personal calls).
Note. On devices with dual SIM cards, both slots (SIM1 and SIM2) support 4G networks. However, if both slots (SIM1 and SIM2) have LTE SIM cards installed, the first SIM card will support 4G/3G/2G networks, while the second one will only support 3G/2G. For more information about SIM cards, contact your service provider.
Selecting the required SIM card
You can select the SIM card with which, for example, you want to make a call. To do this, after dialing the number, press the SIM 1 or SIM 2 button.
The phone displays the network status separately for each SIM card. In standby mode, both SIM cards installed in the mobile device are available at the same time, but if one of the SIM cards is active (for example, during a call), the second card may not be available.

Hello. In order to switch from one SIM card to another, you need to press any number so that it appears in the phone and then switch the button to the SIM card that you need.
Many modern smartphones support 2 SIM cards. After you have inserted SIM cards into your phone for the first time, I advise you to configure each SIM card through the SIM card manager. This is necessary for proper operation and to avoid confusion - through which SIM card to call and access the Internet.
Instructions
This instruction consists of five steps. You will need a special plastic spatula, long nails or some comfortable and soft thin object with which you can pry up some parts.
Step 1: Pry off the left edge of the back cover of the Samsung S4 with your fingernail or a spatula. A special connector for this is located at the level of the main camera and the power button.
Step 2: Insert a plastic spatula into the gap that has now formed and slide it from left to right, unlocking the latches sequentially (these latches are located along the entire perimeter of the inside of the telephone case). At the moment when the back cover has completely come away from the case, remove it and set it aside.
Step 3: After removing the back cover, be sure to remove the memory card from the special slot located directly under the main camera of the device:
- Lightly press the edge of the memory card until you hear a characteristic click.
- Remove the spatula or finger from the card - a click precedes the automatic ejection of the memory card with its retaining tray.
- Once this happens, remove the memory card and carefully place it in a place where it will not get lost.
- When assembling the Samsung S4, insert it following the steps in reverse order.
Step 4: Pry up the phone battery, remove it and set it aside.
Step 5: To remove the Samsung Galaxy S4 SIM card, press it inward as you did with the memory card:
- You need to press carefully until you hear the familiar click.
- When you hear a click, release the holder so that it can automatically pull the tray out of its slot.
- When the SIM card tray appears completely, it’s time to remove the SIM card from it.
- Now you can insert another card into the slot and put the phone back together.
As you can see, MicroSIM is no more difficult to use than the most ordinary SIM card - there was nothing to be afraid of!

The card has expired
Any plastic has its own expiration date. By default, its parameters for SIM are as follows:
- they are on sale for 3-4 years (depending on the operator);
- if the owner purchased the number, made the first call, but does not replenish it, then it functions for a month;
- If you have already activated the number and topped it up, then the validity period expires one year after the last top up.
If you violated one of these rules, or bought an already expired card, then the operator has already stopped administering it.
Charging rules
The instructions for the Samsung S20 indicate that before first use and after the device has been turned off for a long time, it must be recharged. To recharge, you should use a “original” battery, cable and charger approved by the manufacturer. Incompatible devices lead to failure of the gadget or injury to the user.
How to charge the battery
Violating the rules for charging a mobile phone can cause damage to it, which is not covered by the warranty. Manufacturers recommend using the USB C cable provided in the package.

Almost all the latest mobile phone models have dual SIM functionality as standard.

So, the following options are available to us:
- Data in roaming. Enable/disable data transfer (Internet) while roaming. In Russia, not all operators allow you to use the Internet throughout the country, as in your home region (applies to the Far East, Chukotka, Crimea), so it is better to disable the option. I’m generally silent about international roaming - be sure to turn it off!
- VoLTE calls – the enabled option improves the quality of voice calls over the 4G (LTE) network.
- Network mode. Select LTE(4G)/3G/2G (auto). Those. We simultaneously use 3 communication standards for calls and the Internet. 2G – valid only for calls and SMS, the Internet will not work.
- Access points. There is no need to change anything here. The mobile operator sends and automatically sets your Internet access settings. And 8-10 years ago, you had to manually register separately settings for the Internet and receiving MMS messages, passwords and logins, servers, protocols and types of access points. Fortunately, everything is automated now. If you change the settings by mistake, you can always restore them to default.
- Network operators. You can select the desired cellular network manually or automatically. By default, the network is searched automatically, even in international roaming (a “friendly” network with optimal tariffs is selected). But you can always select the network manually:
Basic mobile network settings are set automatically. It is better for an inexperienced user not to change them.
How to enable the second SIM card slot on Samsung
To enable the 2nd SIM card in Samsung (it’s similar in most others), go to settings and click “SIM Manager”.
Then select "Active Mode".
But this should not always be done. Therefore, above I recommended that you familiarize yourself with devices that have 2 slots for SIM cards.
It all depends on the built-in radio modules. Perhaps your phone has two independent ones, then you can do without forwarding.
