In addition to this, VisualRoute has the ability to identify the geographic location of routers, servers and other network devices by IP addresses.
By launching the program, you will see a satellite map of the Earth, preserving the semblance of the landscape. This, of course, is not Google Maps, but it’s some kind of visualization. Below the map there is a table displaying the results, above is a set of necessary parameters: protocol, port, as well as the scanned address (URL, host, IP or email). We enter the address in the search bar, suppose www.xakep.ru. After some time (I was on the dial-up, scanning took a minute) we will get the finished results - the IP address of the server, as well as the path of the packet from our computer to the server. Half of the screen on the right side is given over to current information - what, what server and why we need it. The left side respectively provides the query history and address bar. We introduce our favorite hacker - not a lot. The information is mainly on Game Land LLC. Well, a little about the provider. I didn’t find anything interesting and stuck the data on my good friend: antiplaneta.info. The result turned out to be good - in addition to the email and phone number, I also found out the supposed address of the admin. That's all. Using the program, you can obtain the most detailed information about any person who has accessed the Internet, as well as about the owner of any Internet site. You will find out not only the person’s name, but also his residential address.
Well, it's written in the press release. We are distrustful people, so we will experience everything ourselves. She looks, I tell you, like an ascetic tortured by hunger: a window “information about IP address”, a window “check domain” - and that’s all! Yes, there are a couple more bookmarks, on one of which you will find a list of the “best hosting”, and on the other you will get valuable information that the program is distributed for free, but you should not take them for functionality. So, introduce our favorite hacker. And we don’t get anything. Other IPs and domains also did not produce results. It was never possible to establish what exactly this program did.

So, we must receive data about any existing addresses or domain names on the network. You can find out the addresses and telephone numbers of the administration, or the name of the organization that owns this domain name. The program also provides a terminal mode of operation. This is when you can use the built-in service of a particular Whois server. To obtain detailed information about the availability of various services, after connecting to the server in terminal mode, you need to send the word Help. In general, nothing new. The program's interface will appeal to real hackers - such a conceptual black screen :). We enter the IP address or domain name and after a while we receive a response from the server with very little information of interest. I do not recommend for use.
Bonus
The Internet Anonym Pro program will allow you to create reliable protection against IP address scanning. Immediately after launch, the utility will offer to check the servers in its database for functionality, automatically discarding the slow ones. Well, then feel free to turn on the camouflage mode. Method two
Also, to find out the IP address of the device, you can force the user to follow a link created using a service for collecting IP addresses, for example, IP Logger. To create a link on the IP Logger website, in the “Link/Picture” block, insert any link, in our case it is yandex.ru, and click “Get logger code”.
Save your logger ID in the system to view statistics.
Now all that remains is to send the person whose IP address you want to find out a message with a link from the “Your link to collect IP addresses” field and force him to follow the link. To make the link less suspicious, copy the short link from Google.
When the user follows the link, he will end up on the page whose address you specified on the main page of the IP Logger, in our case yandex.ru, and you will see the collected IP addresses in the statistics on the site based on the ID of this logger.
How to protect yourself from penetration by IP address using IP Logger
Due to the wild popularity of the service, I want to say a few words on the topic of how not to fall for this bait. The easiest way is to add the domains used by the IP logger to the deny rules of your firewall. Or, as an option, close them through the system hosts file. To edit it, you need to open the standard Notepad application with Administrator rights.
After that, in the menu, select “File” → “Open”, select the “All files” option in the window that appears, go to the folder C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\” and open the hosts file. At the very end of the file add the following lines:

Save the file. Reboot the computer. Now the IP Logger service will not open from this computer and, accordingly, all its links will not open either.

To determine the device's location by IP address, use any IP location service, for example. Go to the Whois section, enter the received IP, now you know the location of the device, time zone, operating system used.
Most likely, you have already received messages with links and intriguing content, and when you click on the link, a picture or some site opens, and you do not understand the purpose for which this message was sent to you. So, when you click on such a link, your IP address becomes known to the sender of the message and can be used for fraudulent activities.
Grabify
Another similar service for tracking IP addresses by clicked links. You go to the grabify.link and insert an arbitrary link into the “Enter a Value URL or Tracking code...” , click “Create URL” and confirm the action by clicking the “I Agree Create URL” .
You may also be asked to enter a captcha so that the service can make sure that you are not a robot. Here you also need data from two fields:
- New URL - a short link to send to the tracked user.
- Access Link - a link with an ID where you can view the received data.
Being sure that the user who received the link has viewed the material sent to him, we follow the Access Link and study the detailed report containing data such as IP and device, IPS (if available). Both services are free for non-commercial use, do not require mandatory registration, and instead of a regular link to a web page, you can use a link to an image, text or even an executable file.
How to hide your IP address?
If you do not want to become a victim of attackers who try to find out your IP address by any means, we strongly recommend using a VPN to access the Internet, for example, the free VPN from Whoer. Any VPN service works as follows: after launching the program, the connection to the Internet is made through the selected VPN server, that is, when trying to determine your IP, an attacker sees the IP address of the VPN server, and not your real IP. Thus, when using a VPN, your device becomes completely anonymous. A paid VPN will allow you to get high connection speeds, as well as disguise your IP as the address of the desired country.

Only the Internet provider owner of this IP address can compare the IP address and the real physical address of the place from which they accessed the Internet under this address and at the specified time.
Knowing the IP address and the time at which they accessed the Internet under it, the Internet provider will be able to tell exactly where they accessed the Internet from.
But, unfortunately, this will not help us in any way. This information can be obtained from the Internet provider only upon request from the police or investigative authorities. No one will provide this kind of information to a mere mortal, unless, of course, by chance, your close relative works for this Internet provider 
If the attacker uses anonymization tools, then the process of obtaining the real address of this person becomes much more complicated. First, you need to contact the owners who provide anonymizer services and obtain from them information about which IP address our attacker visited them from at a certain time. And since the vast majority of anonymization services do not keep logs of visits, it is almost impossible to obtain the information we need.
Thus, even having received a person’s IP address, it gives us absolutely nothing. Well, unless we can find out the city in which this person is located. It will not be possible to obtain more detailed information without law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, if you are blackmailed, you have been deceived or you have become a victim of a crime, contact the police; unfortunately, you will not be able to help yourself.
How to determine IP directly from a computer
Let's consider another situation in which you need to find out the IP of someone else's device when it is in your possession. Then you can use Windows tools and quickly find the information you need:
- The fastest way to find data is through the command line. Launch it using the cmd combination, after pressing +.
- Enter the command "ipconfig" and click . The command line will display information about the local network address, DNS address, etc. We are interested in the marked line.

Another site that offers IP tracking services. For it to work, you need a link to any resource so that the service can shorten it. After this, you need to send the link to the right person and wait for him to click on it. It is best to send such traps on VKontakte or Odnoklassniki, and not by email, since many users do not check their email at all.
Sending a link via Skype is also relevant. If the user is online and you are added to his friends list, then simply write an interesting text and disguise a link that is interesting to the person. This way the user won't suspect anything. Let's consider the procedure for creating such a link in more detail:
- Open https://iplogger.ru/.
- In the marked line, paste the address of any website and click “Shorten.”
- A window will appear on the screen with several important links. Under the number 1 is a code for further viewing of conversion statistics from the main page of the site. Below the number 2 is a link for the same purpose. Under the number 3 is the address that needs to be sent to another user. To prevent the link from looking so suspicious, it is best to copy the short address from Google (4).
- After a person goes to the address, you will see a description of his IP in the “Visit Statistics” tab.
The 2ip Spy service also has a similar feature, but to use it you need to register by invitation. The disadvantage of such methods is that it is not 100 percent. Your interlocutor may simply not follow the received URL due to suspicion or lack of interest. For the fake link option to work, you need to select material, an article, or a video that is interesting to the person.
How to find out the location of the sender of an email based on the received IP address?
So, we have found out the IP, what should we do with it now? Now let's determine the location of the remote user based on the received number. To do this, go to the iplogger.ru service again and turn to the last (lower right) section of the graphic menu called “IP/URL Information”. In the field below, enter the number extracted from the header and get all the necessary information about it.

How to check the internal IP address when connecting to the mobile Internet
On Android, you can also find out the internal IP address that the phone receives when connecting to the mobile Internet (3G, 4G).
