Adblock plus is a browser program that can block all advertising on the Internet. Banners, ads, and even pre-video adverts on Youtube disappear. The interface is simple, understandable even to grandmothers. At times it happens that Adblock does not block ads on YouTube, preventing other advertising junk from being allowed. We will now figure out what to do and how to deal with it.
Signing out of your Google account
It looks like the ads are somehow linked to the Google account you use when watching YouTube. This is confirmed by the fact that it is displayed based on data collected according to the information we looked at on the Internet. Logging out of your account and logging in again allows you to restore the blocker's functionality.
Go to the Youtube website and expand the user menu by clicking on the corresponding icon in the upper right corner.
Click on the “Log Out” option. After logging out of your account, enter your credentials to sign in again.
Then check whether Adblock ads have started to be blocked when watching a video.

How to disable Adblock on a site that is visited most often?
Let us remind you that a large number of sites depend on advertising revenue, and if you are here often, you can give the go-ahead to watch advertising videos if they do not annoy you.
To perform this action, go to the portal, click on the arrow located next to the application icon in the toolbar. In the list, select “disable to...”.
Restarting the extension
One of the main reasons why Adblock stops blocking ads on Youtube is that everyone who uses this extension sees ads lasting about a minute and a half, while others may skip them after five seconds. It appears that YouTube is identifying users who use Adblock, preventing them from skipping advertisements at all. In this case, the problem can be fixed by restarting the blocker.
In the browser, expand the main menu by clicking on the icon located in the upper right corner. Click on Extensions, find AdBlock and disable it.
Google Chrome:
Click on the icon with three vertical dots and go to More Tools - Extensions. Or just type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar
Find AdBlock and move the switch to the Disabled position.
Mozilla Firefox:
Expand the main menu and click on “Add-ons”. Or open the add-ons page by typing in the address bar: about:addons
Find the ad-blocking add-on and disable it. If you are prompted to restart your browser, confirm this action.
You should now be able to skip ads after 5 seconds. Re-enable the extension by following the given steps.
Working solutions similar to Adblock
As a commentator on Youtube said: “Everything is for sale!” Perhaps the developers of Adblock plus for Youtube allowed some advertisers to display banners and videos for small royalties. So it’s time to look for other, still working utilities.
On the Opera browser, you should use the built-in blocker. To do this you need:
- Go to "Settings"
- Switch the program slider to active mode.
Exception management is also available here.
“Adguard Adblocker” and “µblock” applications are available for more browsers. Need to:
- Go to your browser's app store.
- Enter the name of the desired extension in the search bar.
- Upload, agreeing to all settings.
On mobile devices you need to follow the same instructions. If Adblock does not block advertising on YouTube in any way, you should download a separate application from Google Play, or AppStore, depending on the operating system.
Do you use Youtube only in the official program? No clever utilities will save you from annoying spam. You need to use the official Youtube Premium subscription. The first month of use is free. The user loses the happiness of viewing advertisements and also discovers unique content. There are no other working methods. Only installation of third-party applications or extensions.

Ads have appeared in the browser, Adblock does not block ads or viruses on the computer.
Recently I wanted to download a program and went to the official website of this program. I started downloading this program, but the download speed turned out to be sooooo slow. So I decided to cheat and download the program from a third-party resource.
The program loaded very quickly, and I started installing it with peace of mind. After installing the program, which was completely installed and working correctly, I decided to check my email. And then my peace of mind stopped when I saw advertisements on every page of my Internet browser.
I know that I have AdBlock (You can find out what AdBlock is from this ARTICLE), which blocks any advertising... And then it dawned on me that I had installed a virus with the program.
Afraid to restart the computer, because it could have been a ransomware virus, for which I didn’t really want to guess the password, I started downloading CureIt DrWeb (you can learn how to check your computer for viruses using DrWeb CureIt from this ARTICLE). While it was downloading, I deleted the installed program. After downloading, I launched CureIt DrWeb and started checking my computer. After checking, CureIt said that the problem was in the HOSTS file (you can learn more about how to restore the Hosts file on your computer from this ARTICLE), which it can only delete after rebooting the computer.
I restarted my computer, but the ads remained in the browser. Here I decided to check everything in Kaspersky Internet Security, which after checking said that the HOSTS file was infected. Then I realized that I had to take everything into my own hands. What I've done?
I went into the folder where the HOSTS file is located (C:WindowsSystem32driversetc) and opened the HOSTS file. As it turned out, he was normal and it was most likely not his fault. I set the folder properties to Show all hidden and system files (more details on how to do this in the video below).
Then I saw the ImhostS file, opened it and realized that it was the problem. This file needed to be deleted, but the system did not allow it. Therefore, I had to turn to the Unlocker program, which unlocked the file and deleted it. Opening the browser again, I realized that the advertising had disappeared, but something was still wrong.
Then I opened Firefox instead of Chrome and saw that Chrome opened instead of Firefox and, moreover, the one that had a virus. I went into the properties of the shortcut and instead of the normal Firefox.exe there was firefox.url, which opened the default browser (i.e. Chrome). Here I had to manually change all the browser shortcuts.
Next, I needed to completely scan the system for viruses, but antiviruses were powerless here. I found a program that, even in the Demo version, was able to remove all viruses, spyware, etc. that remained on the computer. This is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program.
I downloaded this program, installed it, updated it and started checking it. After a COMPLETE (!) scan of the computer, which took about 3 hours, this program detected 5 viruses, which it successfully removed. Oh, by the way, another useful command in Windows is sfc /scannow. This command checks Windows for errors. How to launch it?
We press the Windows + R buttons, after which you will see a command entry window, where you write this command sfc /scannow.
After which you will go through the verification process. Those who have unlicensed Windows need not be afraid, this program will not do anything bad, but do not forget that this program must be run as an administrator. You can read more in this ARTICLE. I hope this little story will help you avoid my mistake...

The ad blocker works on the principle of a filter list that is updated every day; they can be viewed in the advanced settings of the ABP add-on.

How to disable Youtube ads on TV and TV Box
And, of course, I couldn’t ignore the owners of Smart TVs and TV Boxes on Android. As practice shows, YouTube is viewed more often than broadcast television, which means ad blocking is also necessary. Here two programs will come to the rescue.
YouTube Vanced - I already talked about this alternative client above. Personally, I use it and am very pleased.
Smart YouTube TV is a very popular application. And all because it has a very user-friendly interface, supports 4K video, all languages, can block YouTube ads and does not depend on Google services.
Add block setup
Click on the ABP icon and go to settings (this is a gear in the window that opens)
In the settings that open, uncheck the option to enable acceptable advertising and check the boxes for block additional tracking and block tracking through social network icons.
General settings
After this, we check the result, it should give 100%, if the result below is not satisfactory. Open advanced settings and update filter lists. Then enable those filters that you have disabled.
After this, you should experience a significant speedup in page loading and a more pleasant experience on the site. However, it is worth warning that if you block ads too much, the structure of the site may change, which will lead to discomfort when browsing. Therefore, we recommend that you leave the checkboxes to enable acceptable advertising.
