How to set a photo to a contact in Xiaomi Redmi 9 (9c, 9a, laptop pro)
You can add a photo to contacts on any Redmi 9 - 9c, 9a, Xiaomi 9 laptop pro or Mi 9 Lite, which will make using your mobile phone more enjoyable.

Add a photo to the Redmi 9 contact
If you want to see photos of people who are calling you, you'll now see that it's actually quite simple.
You can also make the contact's photo appear full screen. Looks great. Immediately determine who is calling. I recommend it - here are the instructions.
To do this, you will need to go to the Phone app on your Redmi 9. Once you are there, you should find the contact card in which you want to add the photo.
After opening, “Edit contact” will be displayed at the bottom. When pressed, you can change the shape by clicking on the blue button.
Now when you are on the contact edit screen, simply click on the avatar and your Redmi 9 will give you options to instantly take a photo or select an existing image.
If you choose 1st option, you only need to take a photo and then save. If you choose the other option, which is what I'm doing now, you'll be taken to your cell phone's photo gallery where you just have to select the image you want.
Full screen photo
By default, in smartphones of the Chinese brand Xiaomi, when someone calls, the photo is displayed only on part of the display. Therefore it needs to be trimmed. Without this, you won’t be able to put a photo on a Xiaomi contact. However, in just 5 minutes you can fix this:
- Download Full Screen ID (FSCI). The program is located in the Play Store application.
- Launch the program when installation is complete.
- In the start menu you can change the standard button layout. The display of text is also configured here. If you do not want to change anything in the basic parameters, click on the arrow.
- Set the FSCI application as your default program. Go to the Settings menu and go to Applications.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select "Call Application". The system will suggest suitable programs. Click on "FSCI".
- In the Full Screen ID app, select Contact Without Image. In the window that opens, click on “Assign image”.
- The application allows you to take a photo in real time. To add an existing photo, click “Select from phone gallery.”
- To put a contact's photo on the entire screen, it must be suitable in format. Otherwise, the photo will be cropped or stretched. If you are satisfied with everything, save the result.
- After installation, you can add a few more pictures. They will change automatically after an equal period of time. To do this, click “Slideshow”, select additional photos.
How to set a photo to a contact on a Xiaomi phone
When there is an incoming call, the display of the Xiaomi phone displays the number, or the name of the contact if it is saved in the phone book.
It's quite informative, but not very pretty. If desired, you can add a photo or some image, for example a picture, to any of the contacts.
This is done quite simply, but many users have difficulties, I will explain why.
Please note that you can only add a photo to a contact if the contact is saved in the device’s memory; if it is saved on a SIM card, this will not be possible.

How to delete or change a photo

- Open the contact whose photo you want to change or delete.
- Click on the “sheet with pen” icon.
- In the window that opens, select a photo. A list of possible actions will appear below.
- Delete or change the photo.
How to set a contact photo on Xiaomi
To set a photo to a Xiaomi contact, go to the Phone > Contacts and select the desired subscriber

To synchronize with Google, go to Settings > Other accounts > Google and check the box next to the “Contacts” field as shown in the screenshot below.
Installing a photo via “Contacts”
The easiest way to install a photo is through the phone book. You will have to spend about 2 minutes on it. Before you put a photo on a contact, you need to make sure that the number is recorded. If your phone is saved, you can add a photo in a couple of steps:
- Go to “Contacts”.
- Select a subscriber.
- Click on the icon next to the name.
- Options for action will appear below. You can take a photo of a person or put an existing photo from the gallery. Let's select the second point.
- In the window that opens, select a photo and confirm the action with the “OK” button. You must first crop it to a 1:1 format.
- If everything is done correctly, a photo will appear in the contact at the top of the screen.
Contacts from messengers
For example, the MIUI shell in Xiaomi smartphones supports synchronization of the contact list on Android with social networks. All contacts from instant messengers are automatically uploaded with photos. If data transfer is disabled by default, configure it yourself. For example, to enable syncing with a Google account:
The algorithm is suitable for downloading contacts from any messenger. Photos from them are also downloaded automatically. If it is not in the entry, install the file yourself through the gallery or through your contact list.
Possible problems and their solutions
Most often, installing a photo on Xiaomi smartphones takes about 5 minutes. However, even in the best-quality system, failures occur. In most cases, you can solve the problem yourself. If the listed troubleshooting methods do not help, you will have to contact customer service. There are many reasons why a photo is not installed on a contact. If you try to identify them yourself, you can damage the system.
Can't attach a photo to a contact
In more than 80% of cases, a photo is not placed on an Android contact due to the application not having permission to use the gallery. If the application did not ask for it when adding a photo to a contact, go to settings. Find the Contacts program through the search. In advanced settings, select "Allow access to the Gallery app." Now try again to install the photo on the contact.
The contact is located in the phone memory
In the latest versions of MIUI in Xiaomi phones, by default, contact numbers are recorded only on the SIM card, as well as Google, MI or Yandex account. However, in older models it is not possible to install a picture if the contact is saved in the phone’s memory. Then you need to transfer the entry to the SIM card or link it to any account. After that, try again.

Even an inexperienced user can add a photo to a contact on their own. However, to display the photo on the full screen, you will need an additional application (Ultimate Caller ID Screen HD, Full Screen Caller ID Pro, HD Caller ID).
