How to Put Ring Music on ZTE Through Settings, Contacts, Applications, Player and PC - 5 Methods

Each device running a particular operating system offers a standard set of melodies and ringtones that can be used to set a call or alert. Often, users want to go beyond the options presented and, fortunately, the Android OS allows you to do this in many ways. This function is implemented especially simply in Samsung devices from the top segment.

Regardless of whether the user knows what specific melody he wants to hear or simply wants to expand the choice, this task can be accomplished in very simple ways, which will be discussed below.

How to Set Music for a Specific Contact on ZTE Blade

To install music for a specific contact, follow the instructions:

  1. We transfer the melody that needs to be set to the contact to the “Ringtones” (local music) folder in the phone’s memory. If there is no Ringtones folder, then create it.

  2. Go to the ZTE phone book and select edit contact and select the “add field” option.

  3. Next, the ringtone (local music) item should appear where we select the desired melody

  4. Perhaps, instead of the ringtone item in the list of fields, you will need to click on “ringtone” and select your melody from the list.

Using the Contacts app

At one time, even Symbian-based smartphones allowed you to set a specific melody for each contact. You can do this on Android as well. To do this, you must follow these instructions:

1. Go to the Contacts

».

2. Select the contact you are interested in.

3. Here you need to click the “ Change”

" It may look like a pencil or hide under the ellipsis located in the upper right corner.

4. Now you definitely need to click on the three dots. In the pop-up menu, click on “ Set ringtone”

».

5. Select the application that will be used to view the list of songs stored on the device.

6. Select the folder with MP3 songs, and then the song itself.

7. Save the result by clicking on the checkmark.

Note:

On some smartphones, the ringtone setting process may differ. Everything, again, depends on the branded shell - each manufacturer is sophisticated in its own way. Our example is given for “pure” Android installed on devices of the Nexus family.

How to set a ringtone for a ZTE call using the “Ringtones” folder

  1. Go to “Settings” – “Sound and Vibration” – “Ringtone” – “Local Music”.

  2. Here, look for the song we need and check the box (don’t forget to transfer the music you want to the “Ringtones” folder first).

  3. Now this music will be used as a ringtone.

Changing the ringtone using the Contacts application

The question of how to set a ringtone on Android 6.0 for a contact’s call can be solved in another simple way. To do this, go to “Contacts”, where you can set your own melody for each subscriber. Using the OnePlus 5T phone as an example, this can be done as follows:

  • Go to “Contacts”;
  • Go to the page of the subscriber whose call you want to assign your ringtone to;
  • Click on the pencil and then on the three dots in the upper right corner;
  • Click “Set ringtone” and select a song. Save the result and enjoy your favorite melody when you call. On other phones this function works in approximately the same way.

Using third party applications

The question of how to set a ringtone on Android 6 can be solved using third-party software. This is a great option for those who want to change their ringtone in just a few clicks. Rings Extended or GO SMS Pro are perfect for this purpose. They offer ample opportunities to change the ringtone on your phone. Using Third Party Applications

If you already understand how you can set a ringtone for a contact in Android using built-in tools, but for some reason you cannot complete the procedure, then use third-party applications to change the ringtone. One of the proven solutions is the Ringtone Maker program.

This is a convenient application for working with signals, which allows you to create and set a ringtone for all incoming calls or only certain calls.

Another interesting feature of Ringtone Maker is creating a ringtone. You can select any track, use the sliders to specify the fragment that should be played, and then set it as a ringtone.

Nowadays, many people are switching to smartphones from regular feature phones. Such users often have absolutely no understanding of the functionality of the operating system. Often they don’t even know how to set a ringtone. Interestingly, in the early stages of Android development this was really very difficult, almost impossible. But now you can change the call in a couple of finger movements.

There are several ways to set a ringtone for a call on Android. The simplest one is to use a music player for this purpose. However, a third-party solution will not work! You need to launch the pre-installed player, which is usually called Music

».

1. Launch the application and select the song you want to set to ringtone.

2. Hold your finger on this song until the context menu appears.

3. Select " Use as ringtone"

" or "
Put on a call
".

Attention:

This method may not work on new smartphones. It all depends on the specific branded shell. In many of them, you can install music on a call only in other ways - the player is not suitable for these purposes.

Using Third Party Applications

You can also use third-party utilities to change ringtones. They often make the process a little more convenient. We recommend trying out Rings Extended

,
GO SMS Pro
and RingTone Slicer FX . They all differ in their functionality, providing more advanced options for installing ringtones.

To make your contacts recognizable from the first seconds of a call and add individuality to them, we suggest using an Android feature such as setting a melody for a separate contact.

It's very easy to do. First, you need to decide on the ringtone itself and the contact itself to which we will install this melody.

Next, click the handset icon to open the list of your contacts. Select the contact you want to set a ringtone to. Click on the image icon, after which this contact should open for viewing. In the upper right corner you can see three icons - a star for adding favorite status to a contact, a pencil for editing a contact and three vertical dots for opening additional options. Click on the pencil icon.

The contact editing menu opens, where in the upper right corner there are three vertical dots, when clicked, additional options open. We find the “Set ringtone” option, click and select from the proposed melodies the one that seems most suitable for this contact. Click “Ok” to confirm the selection. Ready!

First way

  1. open the menu;
  2. go to settings;
  3. open the “Personalization” tab;
  4. run “Audio Profiles” or “Sound Profiles”;
  5. go to “Basic” or “General”;
  6. Select the option “Edit” or “Voice call ringtone”.

A menu will open in which you can set original sounds for any task (call, SMS notification, etc.).

Change the ringtone through the standard settings of the operating system of your ZTE smartphone.

Open your device's main settings and go to the Sound Profiles or Sound Settings menu. Through the “General” section, we go to the settings of our active profile, where you can make a lot of changes to sections related to the sound and notifications of your smartphone (vibration, volume, linking notifications to programs).

To select a melody that will be played when receiving incoming calls, simply assign the music file you like and make a long tap on it... in most system firmwares, you will have access to the ability to use the built-in call settings menu.

If this does not happen, try the same long tap on the contact you need.

Setting a melody through standard system settings, in most cases, limits the user to a small set of preinstalled system tracks. If the previous methods could not help you, let's try using additional software.

Procedure for setting a melody

Depending on the operating system version, this procedure may look different.

Here are all the ways:

  • Go to the phone book and select the desired contact. On its page, click on the “Edit” inscription. Scroll to the very bottom of the page that opens. There you will see the “Ringtone” item. Click on it. Select an audio file from the list of available ones, or click on the “From device memory” button and select a song from the list of audio devices. This method will definitely be relevant on Android 6 and Android 7 OS.
  • This procedure can be much shorter in Android 5 and earlier versions. On the contact page, you need to click the menu and select the “Set ringtone” function. It may also be called “Set ringtone.” After this, a list of available songs will open and, possibly, the same button associated with selecting from the device’s memory. You can choose the one you need.
  • It is also possible that in the contact menu you will need to select “Options” or “Melody”. After this, a list of available songs will open.

It is worth saying that everything is not always as simple as it seems. Therefore, it makes sense to consider some common problems associated with this procedure.

How to replace the ringtone using standard Android tools

A smartphone comes with a specific set of ringtones by default. To select another, you must do the following:

Note. The manual does not indicate the exact location of the parameters because the names of the options differ on devices from different manufacturers. For example, smartphones with MIUI and EMUI shells have different interfaces. The same goes for a clean operating system (official or hacked). But the essence of the settings does not change. It is recommended to search for similar items.

In pirated firmware and OS versions below 4.4.x, an error often pops up when selecting a multimedia storage. The solution is to use a file manager. Standard ringtones are located in the “ringtones” folder in the following directory: “/system/media/”. The files in this path are system files and are therefore hidden by default. To view it, it is recommended to use a custom explorer that requires root access. To install a ringtone, you will need to go to the folder, hold your finger on the selected ringtone and press the appropriate option.

How to change the ringtone via the player

For “clean” firmware of the Android operating system, it is recommended to use a downloaded player. One of the most common utilities is PlayerPro. The software is available on the Play Market. Setting the ringtone is as follows:

Keep in mind that it is not recommended to download utilities from user forums and unverified sites. Extraneous files may become malicious and infect your smartphone with viruses. The advantage of the Google store is the presence of Play Protection, which checks each program.

Built-in player for Xiaomi, Huawei and Honor

On Xiaomi devices, you need to go to the “Music” (or “Mi Music”) application. Next you need to do the following:

In the EMUI shell, the actions are similar. In the player you will need to click “All songs”, find the song, open the additional menu and select the “Set as signal” option. The system will ask you to select a SIM card.

Create a “ringtones” folder on Android 8 and 9

The essence of the method is to create a folder with ringtones in a specific directory. The operating system stores all standard ringtones in this directory. To install a song for a call, you will need to move the audio file to a folder. For the next instructions you need to download a file manager. The most convenient are ES File Explorer and Solid Explorer. The following step-by-step guide is written for the second utility:

If the song does not appear in the list, then the folder with ringtones must be placed in the internal drive - “media” - “audio”. If the directory does not exist, you will need to create it.

Second way

If the first method does not work, you can set music for incoming calls according to the following scheme:

  1. enter the standard player and find the desired song;
  2. start playing it and open personal settings;
  3. click "Install as...";
  4. Select the desired option from the ones that open.

After this, the ringtone on ZTE will be changed. If the setup failed using the described methods, download a third-party file manager and complete the procedure using it. Still have questions? Ask them in the comments.

Go to Contacts - Open the contact card (where you can enter additional phone numbers) - press options - a menu should appear - there Set ring tone.

Or is there a lot of applications for this in Google Play, such as https://play.google.com/store/apps/details? >

The contact must be stored in the phone's memory. Not on the SIM card.

Linking a ringtone to a contact on the Android system.

Simple ringtone settings for incoming calls can save a smartphone user a huge amount of nerves and filter out unwanted contacts with callers (if you don’t go to extremes and use a “black list”). Sometimes users of ZTE mobile devices have questions about setting the desired voice for alerts. Simply put, we will now consider the question: how to choose a melody for calls from the authorities, which in a week I will begin to hate.
