How to connect Honor Band 6 to a smartphone
Honor Band 6 is compatible with phones running Android 5.0 and above or iOS 9.0 and above. To pair with a smartphone, use the Huawei Health application. You can download the application from both the App Store and Google Play. But, due to sanctions, the Health application in the Google store has not been updated since July 15, 2020.
Now, in order to use Huawei and Honor watches and fitness bracelets, their owners are required to use the services of this company, whether they like it or not. You can download AppGallery to your smartphone using this link: https://huaweimobileservices.com/appgallery/. After that, you need to download Huawei Health from AppGallery.
Let's move on to pairing.
- Download and install the latest version of the Health application on your smartphone. Open the application.
- Go to the "Devices" section and click "Add".
- Wait for the app to find the bracelet and select the device by clicking the “Pair” button, or search again if the device is not found.
- Allow Bluetooth synchronization and wait for pairing. An icon will appear on the device screen indicating pairing is complete. Confirm pairing by tapping the icon and tap the Done button in the app. Data synchronization will take a few seconds (2 – 3 seconds).
Next, you can move on to the settings.
Design
Now the moment has come, which some have been looking forward to, while others feared - Honor has introduced a generation of fitness bracelets, not much different in size from smartwatches. Moreover, the sixth Band looks very similar to the Honor Watch ES. Some even dare to call it a junior version of the aforementioned smartwatches.
For comparison, here are images of both devices:
The bracelet has a rectangular flat capsule, the length of which has increased by only 0.11 mm compared to Band 5. But the width of the case has become significantly larger - 25.4 mm versus 17.2 mm for the previous model. Such changes greatly affected the appearance of the device - it began to look more solid and premium. Many will not be able to distinguish this bracelet from a smart watch.
The case, made of matte plastic, has the Honor logo on the left edge and a mechanical button with a red line on the right. This gives the design of the gadget the details missing from previous models. The display, protected by tempered glass with rounded edges, occupies the entire space of the front side, which again has a beneficial effect on the appearance.
The widening of the strap at the point of attachment to the body slightly smoothes out the feeling of bulkiness of the device. The strap itself has 3 color options: black, gray and pink. It’s a pity that you can only choose the color of the strap; the capsule will always be in black.
In general, the design of the device can be called original among fitness bracelets. The appearance of the Honor Band 6 is hard to come by; it really looks very stylish. For this, the tracker gets a well-deserved 9.6 points
.
How to reboot and reset Honor Band 6?
Reboot
- To reboot, press and hold the button for 3 seconds. Next, select the “Restart” option.
- The second method is to go to Settings > System > Restart.
Reset
There are two ways to reset the fitness bracelet to factory settings:
- Settings > System > Reset
- Via the Huawei Health app. Go to the "Devices" section, select Honor Band 6, then "Reset settings" and confirm by pressing the "Reset" button.
Ergonomics
The outer finish of the bracelet combines the usual materials - plastic, glass, silicone. This tandem makes the device light and practical. 30 grams including strap
. This is a little more than competitors, but does not cause any discomfort when worn.
The strap is soft and pleasant to the touch. It is secured with a buckle clasp and has a reasonable adjustable length to comfortably fit most users' wrists. The strap is attached to the case using small clips, so you can easily replace it if desired.
In general, Huawei/Honor makes the highest quality straps in the entire fitness bracelet market, so there are no complaints about them.
If you look at the device from the side, you will notice that the back of the case is slightly curved. This feature ensures a tight fit of the tracker to the wrist, which only increases the ease of use.
The manufacturer abandoned the traditional placement of a touch button under the display. Now all navigation and interaction with the interface is done using the touch screen. But it still couldn’t be done without an additional button. Here it is mechanical and located on the right side of the case. I can only praise this solution; working with such a button is very convenient.
The display is protected by tempered 2.5D glass with an oleophobic coating. Running your finger across the glass is easy and pleasant, although fingerprints remain on it afterwards. I’ll say right away that this type of coating will not save you from the gradual appearance of scratches.
As a result, we have a completely comfortable, lightweight fitness bracelet with a thin body and a soft strap. It is practically not felt on the hand during everyday use. But during strength training, the width of the bracelet sometimes bothered me, especially if I used gloves during the workout. It was also uncomfortable to sleep with him at first, but later I got used to it.
Operating time and charging
With the cases described above, when worn around the clock, the watch lasted exactly 14 days, as the manufacturer claims. This is subject to two dozen notifications per day, a morning alarm clock and three hour-long training sessions with GPS. An excellent indicator, since small bracelets last no more than a week, especially when using navigation.
Charging via its own magnetic cable with a pair of contacts. The cable is flexible and thin with a full-size USB on the reverse side. It takes 1.5 hours to fully charge.
Display
Honor Band 6 has an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 1.47 inches and a density of 283 pixels per inch, which is ensured by a resolution of 194 by 368 pixels. The brightness is enough for comfortable use of the bracelet even in sunny weather.
By the way, the display brightness is manually adjusted by selecting one of five levels. There is no light sensor here.
There are no complaints about color reproduction; the colors are rich and rich. Although the manufacturer did not indicate the color depth in the official specification, externally we can confidently say that it is at least 24 bits, which is approximately 16 million colors.
A PPI of 283 pixels per inch is great for fitness bracelets with a small screen, but on a 1.47-inch display this pixel density is clearly not enough. There are no serious complaints about image clarity, but upon closer examination of the screen, individual pixels will still be noticeable.
Despite statements about the release of the first frameless fitness bracelet, a miracle did not happen. Of course, Band 6 has the largest display among bracelets, which occupies almost the entire surface of the capsule, but it still has frames, and rather large ones - 2.34 mm
on all edges. In many ways, it was possible to increase the display surface by eliminating the touch button underneath it.
How to charge?
Most manufacturers recommend using a 5V, 250mA (0.25A) power supply. But, in fact, the power source can be any serviceable 5-volt power supply, regardless of the number of amps. The device will not take more current than it needs. The USB port of a computer, laptop or power bank is also suitable for charging.
Charge the Honor Band 6 battery using the included cable. First, align the contacts on the back of the band with the contacts on the charging cable. It will not be possible to connect incorrectly, since the magnet will simply displace the connector if the polarity is incorrect. Then connect the USB-A connector to a power source. After this, the charging indicator will show the battery charge level on the screen.
A full charge takes approximately 65 minutes. 5 – 10 minutes of charging is enough for several days of battery life. It is advisable to prevent the battery from being completely discharged.
Technology and interfaces
Honor Band 6 is equipped with 3 main sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope and PPG sensor. The combined use of an accelerometer and a gyroscope allows users to track their movements with maximum accuracy and separate steps from other activities.
The PPG sensor operates in the infrared spectrum. This feature allows you not only to measure pulse with high accuracy, but also to determine the level of oxygen in the blood.
Unfortunately, the bracelet does not have a light sensor to automatically change the brightness of the display, and it also does not have a GPS module, which obliges the user to always have a smartphone with him if he wants to see his route on the map.
The fitness bracelet has dust and moisture protection according to IP68
and water resistance class
WR50
. In other words, Honor Band 6 is dust and water resistant, but with some limitations. For example, you can safely swim with a bracelet, but it is not recommended to use it for diving.
To interact with a smartphone, Bluetooth version 5.0 is provided, which ensures a stable connection even at a distance of several tens of meters. A separate version of the bracelet with an NFC module makes it possible to emulate cards and pay for public transport in China. In Russia, NFC will only be useful to users of Huawei/Honor smartphones due to compatibility with Huawei Share (more on that below).
Appearance
Honor Band 6 is available in three colors: Meteorite Black, Coral Pink and Sand Grey. I ordered the latter for review. The strap is replaceable and, by the way, a wide selection is available on AliExpress to suit every taste. In order to remove it, you need to carefully pry off the plugs on both sides with a small flat screwdriver.
The original silicone strap is tactilely pleasant and somewhat reminiscent of a soft touch. There are 18 positions for fixing the bracelet, and the trench has a small locking pin.
Honor Band 6 has a 1.47-inch display that is large enough for this segment of devices, which is made using AMOLED technology. It is quite bright, but it is not very comfortable to read in the sun, as it glares in the light due to the glossy coating. A special feature of the bracelet is also the narrower frames around the screen compared to many similar devices. However, they still remain quite wide.
On the right side of the device there is a single button that serves to turn it on or off, as well as launch the main menu. On the left side there is an embossed inscription “HONOR”. On the reverse side there is a pulse and oxygenation sensor, as well as two contact pads for charging.
Functional
Honor Band 6 not only has many new features, but also old ones have been improved. So, the fitness bracelet boasts the following features:
- Receive and view notifications
- Tracks steps, calories and distance
- 10 sports modes
- Continuous heart rate and stress measurement
- Measuring blood oxygen levels
- Breathing exercises
- Sleep monitoring, smart alarm clock
- Sedentary reminder
- Music control
- Smartphone camera shutter control
- Weather forecast
- Women's calendar
- Timer and stopwatch
- Creating events with reminders
- "Find smartphone" function
- Flashlight
- NFC with Huawei Share
- Voice assistant
Activity
The bracelet measures all standard indicators of the user's daily activity: steps, calories burned, distance traveled. Detailed information about the collected data can be found both on the device itself and in the application.
You can also activate a sedentary reminder in the app and set a goal for steps/calories burned and weight.
Notifications
The fitness bracelet can duplicate notifications from any application, while the text of the message, the name of the recipient and the source icon will be displayed on the screen. Incoming calls will also be displayed on the screen, but they cannot be answered. You can only reset it or switch it to silent mode.
Unfortunately, you cannot respond to incoming notifications. There are not even ready-made templates for answers. This option is available only on one fitness bracelet on the market – Samsung Galaxy Fit2.
Samsung Galaxy Fit2 review
The screen of the sixth band has increased by 148% compared to the previous version, which means working with notifications will now be much more convenient. The font became larger, there were fewer hyphens, and outwardly it all began to look more pleasant.
The bracelet displays up to 300 characters of text; if the message is larger, the rest of it will be replaced with “…”. Emoticons, voice messages, and images are not supported in notifications.
Pulse measurement
Huawei has again upgraded its heart rate tracking technology and the Honor Band 6 has received a number of new features and, as the manufacturer claims, has become much more accurate.
The device is equipped with TruSeen 4.0 , during the development of which special attention was paid to dynamic heart rate monitoring. In addition, now the bracelet not only provides you with dry data on your pulse and warns you if the minimum and maximum threshold specified in the application is exceeded, but also conducts a full analysis of your heart function.
To do this, the company used a medical database provided by a military hospital in China. Now the bracelet can carry out preliminary screening itself and recognize abnormalities such as fibrillation, atrial fibrillation, and sleep apnea. The accuracy of determining premature contractions, according to the manufacturer, is 95.5%.
Here I have to stop and say that a separate application is responsible for screening heart function and tracking breathing during sleep, which is currently not available in Russia. It is not yet known whether it will appear here.
The PPG sensor can operate in 3 modes:
- Single measurement;
- Constant measurement;
- Smart mode.
Smart mode involves automatically adapting the heart rate measurement depending on the user's activity. The calmer you are, the less frequently measurements will be taken, and as your heart rate increases, the number of measurements will increase.
In the Huawei Health , you can configure in detail the operation of notifications when heart rate thresholds are exceeded. Thus, the user can set both the maximum value for his heart rate, upon reaching which a notification will be sent, and the minimum.
Thanks to a significant increase in the display, the bracelet now displays not only the current heart rate value, but also a graph of its changes over the last 24 hours, marking the minimum and maximum values. In addition, in the “Pulse” item of the bracelet menu, you can see the time the heart works in different pulse zones.
Measuring blood oxygen levels
Like the previous generation of Honor Band, the six received an infrared PPG sensor, which allows you to accurately determine blood oxygen saturation . On Honor Band 5, the discrepancies with the medical pulse oximeter did not exceed one point (1%).
A single saturation measurement can be made through the fitness bracelet interface. After the measurement, the screen will also display your current heart rate. The manufacturer claims that the six supports constant measurement of oxygen levels in the blood during sleep, but nothing is yet known regarding the operation of this function in Russia.
The thing is that some functions work through a separate application Heart Health Research , which is currently not on Google Play or the App Store.
This application allows you to analyze the work of your heart in more detail. It is a tool developed by Huawei together with 301 Hospital (PLA Medical Hospital in China). Heart Health Research uses data from your fitness tracker to screen your heart and analyze your sleep apnea.
Stress and breathing exercises
Honor Band 6 features HUAWEI Trurelax , which provides the ability to continuously measure stress and conduct breathing exercises.
The user can initiate a single stress measurement through the wristband interface at any time.
Activation of continuous stress monitoring is carried out through the Huawei Health application. The frequency of measurements is determined automatically depending on your activity. So, when playing sports, stress levels will not be measured in order to avoid inaccuracies.
The stress level is assessed on a 100-point scale according to the following principle: 1-29 – relaxed state; 30-59 – normal condition; 60-79 – average stress level; 80-99 – high stress level.
Breathing exercises are implemented according to a familiar scheme: an image of a blue ball appears on the screen, the expansion and contraction of which helps the user regulate the process of inhalation/exhalation. The bracelet will also mark the peaks of breathing with vibration, so that you understand exactly when you need to start exhaling and when to inhale.
Sports modes
Sports modes have not undergone any changes. As in Honor Band 5, the six can track the following activities:
- Run
- Treadmill
- Walking outside
- Walking on the track
- Bike
- Exercise bike
- Swimming
- Elliptical trainer
- Rowing machine
- Free workout
The monitored parameters and provided statistics for each mode have not undergone any changes, everything is in the form familiar to owners of Honor/Huawei fitness bracelets.
The only thing is that Honor Band 6 has an automatic activity detection function. It works exactly the same as on the Xiaomi Mi Band 5. The bracelet cannot determine what kind of activity the user is engaged in, it only understands that you are currently under physical activity, so with the help of a notification it offers you to choose a training mode yourself.
Sleep monitoring
One of the main advantages of fitness bracelets from Honor is the most detailed and accurate sleep monitoring. And the six holds its own in this regard. HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 technology is responsible for sleep analysis here .
Honor Band 6 breaks your sleep into phases (REM, light, deep), determines the number of awakenings, and also recognizes short-term daytime sleep. During sleep, the bracelet will periodically measure your heart rate in order to chart its changes in the future.
Each of your dreams will be assessed on a scale of 100 points. Each assessment will be supported by a little analysis. Here you can familiarize yourself with recommendations that will help you significantly improve your sleep in the future. TruSleep technology recognizes 6 common sleep problems and has a database of 200 different recommendations.
In the “Sleep” menu item of the fitness bracelet, you can see the duration of your last sleep and its compliance with the set goal.
The user can set up to 5 regular alarms and one smart alarm. You can create alarms directly from the bracelet interface.
NFC and voice assistant
A separate version of the fitness bracelet is equipped with an NFC module and a voice assistant. NFC is designed to pay for travel on public transport and emulate public access cards. Contactless payment using a bracelet is not available.
The NFC module can be used to quickly interact with a smartphone. For example, you can transfer an image of a watch face from your phone to a bracelet with one touch. How it works: first, on the bracelet itself in the settings, you need to activate the appropriate mode, then on your smartphone, select the watch face you are interested in and carefully touch the back of the mobile phone to the bracelet.
The voice assistant most likely will not support the Russian language, so there is no point in this function.
Additional features
Additional features include:
- Weather forecast
- Music control
- Camera shutter control
- Women's calendar
- Creating events with reminders
- Flashlight
- Finding a smartphone
- Timer and stopwatch
In the “Weather” item on the main screen the following information will be available: cloudiness, precipitation, current temperature, temperature for the day (day and evening). By scrolling down the screen, you can also see the change in weather conditions over the next 6 hours and a brief forecast for the next 6 days.
Controlling music has become much more convenient, again due to the increase in display size. All the same functions are available: switch back/forward, pause/start, change volume.
From the sixth version of the bracelet, camera shutter control is available for smartphones of any brand. You can take pictures with your phone using the bracelet. This can be useful, for example, for taking general photographs.
Menstrual cycle tracking is another innovation that has become available thanks to the introduction of HUAWEI Trurelax technology. This function combines a women's calendar, an ovulation date calculator, a system for describing symptoms and creating reminders.
Turning on the flashlight activates the maximum brightness of the display and displays a bright image on it. Do not think that the device is equipped with a real flashlight.
Huawei Health app
The bracelet works with the Huawei Health application. It can be downloaded from both Google Play for Android and the App Store for iOS.
The application consists of several tabs:
- Health;
- Exercise;
- Devices;
- I.
The “Health” section contains all information about activity in the form of widgets. Clicking on a specific widget opens more detailed statistics about the selected activity parameter.
The “Exercise” section stores records of all workouts, divided into types of workouts. You can also start tracking your workout using your GPS smartphone from this section.
The “Device” menu contains a few settings for the fitness bracelet:
- Watch face shop.
- Monitoring (setting up sleep monitoring, reminders, constant monitoring of heart rate and stress levels).
- Setting up notifications.
- Setting up alarms (regular and smart).
- Turn on the weather forecast.
- Device settings (Bluetooth disconnect notification, music playback control, turning on the screen by raising your hand).
- Reset.
- Software Update.
In the “Me” menu, you can view weekly/monthly activity reports, achievements, indicate personal data (gender, height, age, weight), set up automatic synchronization, auto-tracking, etc.
Multitasking
Fitness bracelets from Honor are distinguished by the presence of multitasking, which, however, always only applies to the operation of a stopwatch and timer. So, the user can run the stopwatch in the background and use any other functionality of the device, and then return again and check out the progress.
While training on Honor Band 6, you can control music and also access the Alipay service.
It is worth noting that the bracelet did not receive full multitasking functionality. You won't be able to, for example, start a stopwatch during a workout, and you won't be able to exit a workout at all without first completing it.
What versions of Honor Band 6 are there?
It's easy to get confused with the versions of Honor Band 6. The fact is that the fitness bracelet was released on the Chinese market at the end of 2022, that is, before Honor became a brand independent from Huawei. Therefore, all the first batches of devices for the Chinese market were produced by Huawei. And now they can still be found on sale.
The Huawei bracelet has two versions:
- ARG-B19 - version without NFC
- ARG-B29 - version with NFC
After the split, Honor began releasing its versions of the Honor Band 6:
- ARG-B39 - version without NFC
- ARG-B59 - version with NFC
What is the difference? Almost nothing. At the moment, the only significant difference is different firmware. Along with the new firmware, bracelets produced by Honor began to receive a translation into Russian, while versions ARG-B19 and ARG-B29 have not yet received a firmware update. And it is not known whether they will receive it at all. By the way, the first buyers of these models managed to receive the update number 10.1.2.12 with the Russian language, but then it was withdrawn.
The version with NFC is visually different from the version without NFC by the small microphone hole at the bottom at the end where the key is located.
We previously had a detailed review of the fitness bracelet version ARG-B19. It has not yet received an update, so in the photo in this manual you can see the interface in English. But the appearance of the icons, their location and all settings for all versions are absolutely identical. By the way, these instructions are also suitable for the Huawei Band 6 fitness bracelet.
Interface
I’ll say right away that the interface of the new fitness bracelet has nothing in common with its predecessor. Absolutely everything has been updated here, from icons to data design.
The interface graphics are completely identical to those of the Honor Watch ES, which once again indicates the close relationship of these devices.
Honor Band 6 is the first fitness bracelet to feature the EMUI shell. Now, in addition to standard tools, the bracelet supports a pop-up curtain with icons familiar to owners of Honor/Huawei smartphones.
The main menu of the bracelet consists of the following items:
- Sports modes
- Sports records
- Pulse
- SpO2 (blood oxygen)
- Activity
- Dream
- Stress
- Breathing exercises
- Music
- Deleted photo
- Notifications
- Weather
- Alipay
- Timer
- Stopwatch
- Alarm
- Flashlight
- Finding a smartphone
- Settings
In the settings, the user has access to the following items: fast data transfer (if you have a version with an NFC module), display (dials, widgets (setting the sequence of displaying widgets in the horizontal menu), brightness), vibration (setting vibration strength), system (reboot, shutdown, reset), information (device name, model number).
The bracelet also has an additional horizontal menu
, which by default consists of the following widgets: heart rate tracking, weather forecast, Alipay settings, music control, activity information. It is worth noting that the user can add/remove widgets and change their order.
The pop-up curtain we talked about earlier combines 5 quick access icons:
- Activating Do Not Disturb mode
- Activating always-on display mode
- Finding a smartphone
- Access to alarms
- Access to basic settings
Navigation
As you remember, the bracelet lost the capacitive button under the screen, but acquired a mechanical button on the right side. It has a number of functions: screen activation; go to the menu when pressed on the main screen; returning to the main screen from other points; Activate voice assistant when pressed and held. The button cannot be configured to perform other tasks.
Along with the interface, navigation through it has also changed slightly. Here is a list of main actions:
- Swipe down/up – move up/down through the menu and its items;
- Swipe down on the main screen to open a pop-up curtain;
- Swipe up on the main screen for quick access to the “Notifications” item;
- Swipe left/right on the main screen – move through the additional horizontal menu;
- Swipe to the right – action “back”;
- Single touch – go to the item;
- Long touch on the main screen - quick access to change the watch face.
Dials
There are about 100 dials available for Chinese users, but most likely not all of them will reach Russia, although this is not the main problem. The fact is that approximately half of all watch faces available in the store are currently distributed on a paid basis, which strongly contradicts the policy of creating budget gadgets.
You can download up to 32 watch faces from the application to the bracelet. All of them will be available in Menu->Settings->Display->Dials
. I also note that a long press on the main screen opens a menu for quickly changing the watch face. It will feature 9 main types of watch faces.
Some watch faces have the ability to personalize by choosing the widgets you want, which will always be displayed on the home screen. You can choose from the following widget options: heart rate, calories, distance, steps, weather, battery percentage.
There is a one-touch dial transfer function for devices with an NFC module. The bracelet does not support creating watch faces with your own image.
How to see the version of Honor Band 6?
The model number is laser-etched on the back of the device above the optical sensor, under the word MODEL.
You can also see what version of your device you have in the settings. To do this, go to Settings (gear icon in the quick access menu or in the main menu). Next, scroll to the “About” item and find the model number at the bottom of the screen that opens.
Below you can find the MAC address, firmware version and serial number.
Localization
Contrary to expectations, the Chinese version of the bracelet does not currently support the Russian language, but you can install English.
I dare to suggest that the Chinese version of the bracelet will not receive the Russian language at all, as was the case, for example, with the Huawei Band 4 Pro. Therefore, for those who definitely want to have a Russified device, I recommend waiting for the global version to appear on AliExpress, or even buy a bracelet in one of the official stores when it starts being sold in our country.
Updated: Russian-language firmware has yet arrived for the Chinese versions of the bracelets, so you can safely take the CN version, which is 10% cheaper than the global one.
Autonomy and charger
The fitness bracelet is equipped with a non-removable 180 mAh
. The manufacturer claims 14 days of operation under standard use conditions and 10 days at maximum load. Reviews from real users generally support these claims, but our numbers were slightly different.
With merciless use (maximum brightness, receiving and viewing notifications, constantly measuring heart rate and stress, periodically measuring saturation, sleep monitoring, using multimedia capabilities, working in training modes), the bracelet lasted about 7 days.
A gadget with such a large screen and an impressive set of functions that can last a week without charging is a rarity these days.
The bracelet comes with a wired magnetic charger that supports the Quick Charge . This opens up new opportunities for users. Now just 5 minutes of charging can provide 1-2 days of operation of the bracelet.
Questions and answers
Is it possible to swim in Honor Band 6?
The water resistance level of Honor Band 6 is 5 ATM. This protection is enough not to remove the bracelet when washing hands, during rain or swimming at shallow depths. It is better to remove the bracelet before showering, diving or scuba diving. Over time, protection may deteriorate. Water resistance can be affected by shocks and falls of the device, contact with various substances, for example, soap, oil, shower gel, etc. Also, using the device in conditions of high humidity and high temperatures may not work well.
What types of workouts does the bracelet track?
Honor Band 6 can track 10 types of workouts:
- Running outside
- Treadmill
- Walking outside
- A ride on the bicycle
- Exercise bike
- Swimming in the pool
- Walking
- Rowing machine
- Ellipse
- Free workout
Does the bracelet count floors (height)?
No. Honor Band 6 does not have a barometric altimeter.
Can Honor Band 6 measure blood pressure?
No, Honor Band 6 cannot boast of such a function. You can get acquainted with the best models of fitness bracelets with a pressure measurement function in this rating.
What is real autonomy?
The gadget is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 180 mAh. The battery life declared by the manufacturer is up to 14 days in normal mode or up to 10 days with active use. In general, these data are true. Even with constant monitoring of heart rate and stress, as well as a fairly large number of notifications, the bracelet will work for 10 days without charging.
Does NFC work in Honor Band 6?
Owners of Honor Band 6 with NFC in China can pay for transport fares using the fitness bracelet, use it to link access cards and pay for purchases using AliPay QR codes. In other countries, Honor Band 6 with NFC can only be used to link access cards, and even then, not all of them, but only those operating at the same frequency as the NFC module in Honor Band 6.
The process of linking an access card was described in sufficient detail by one of the device owners on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum (here).
Does this bracelet have GPS?
No. But during street training, Honor Band 6 connects to a smartphone and takes data from its GPS module.
For what period are statistics saved in the fitness bracelet’s memory?
Without pairing with a smartphone, Honor Band 6 stores heart rate and sleep data for 7 days, and stress data for 10 days.
How to replace the strap on Honor Band 6?
To remove the strap, unfasten the bracelet, use a sharp object to pry the bracelet clasp at the point where it is attached to the body and gently pull it up. Remove the strap without force by disconnecting it from the case. The strap is attached in the reverse order. The clasp is very small, making it easy to lose during replacement.
Where to buy a strap for Honor Band 6?
Many owners of Honor Band 6 complain that the coating on the “native” strap may peel off after a short period of use and the device loses its aesthetic appearance. Purchasing a new strap is a bit of a hassle. Many sellers on Aliexpress sell replacement straps for Band 6 at a fairly reasonable price.
We have selected some of the most interesting offers:
Silicone strap. From 1.4$
Metal bracelet (price $7.39 - 12.59)

Honor Band 6 is turned on in two ways:
- The device will turn on automatically when charging.
- By pressing and holding the button on the right side of the case. If the battery is low, a notification will appear on the screen asking you to charge. After two seconds, the bracelet will turn off.
Shutdown
- To turn off, press and hold the button for 3 seconds. Next, select the “Power off” option.
- The second method is to go to Settings > System > Power off.
Personal impression
Oddly enough, Honor Band 6 managed to surprise all fans of fitness bracelets. Apparently, it was not for nothing that the company deviated from the tradition of releasing trackers at the end of summer. I assume that such a late release of the new generation was caused by certain circumstances, namely the announcement of Xiaomi Mi Band 5, which immediately attracted great interest.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 review
Honor Band 6 gave me rather conflicting feelings. I feel very good about Honor and expected that the expected release date of the bracelet was postponed due to hard work on the new generation, which was supposed to surprise all competitors, but it turns out that the company's specialists were simply simplifying the Honor Watch ES. It’s a shame, because I wanted to see something in line with the line’s previously set line of development, something that would continue to form an alternative to smartwatches.
It seems to me that the company should under no circumstances abandon the production of devices of a standard form factor for the fitness bracelet segment. I would like to see the imminent release of Honor Band 6i, which would become a smaller copy of its older brother.
In conclusion, I can say that Honor Band 6 is a completely new device that has nothing in common with previous models in the line. On the one hand, this is a big minus, but on the other hand, most users of such gadgets have long been expecting a degeneration from the narrow category of “fitness bracelets” into the more expanded category of “fitness watches.”
