Methods
Let's look at the most common and effective reboot methods for different types of cell phones. You need to clarify right away - a reboot is not harmful to the operating system; at most you can lose unsaved data. The procedure can be carried out at least every day.
Power buttons
For Android operating system
If you press the lock button and hold it for 5-6 seconds, a small window will appear in which there will be two options: “Turn off the device” or “Restart”. Choose the second option. The phone will reboot itself. You can also click on “Turn off”, and then simply turn it on by holding down ON.
If the device becomes dull during operation, to force the power off, hold the key a little longer than usual - 10-15 seconds.
For iPhone operating system
Press and hold the iPhone's power off button until large "Shut Down" and "Cancel" messages appear. Next, click on the left side, where the power off icon is shown, and without lifting your finger, swipe from left to right. Then turn on your phone normally.
For Windows Phone operating system
If the device works stably, then simply hold down the lock button until the inscription appears: “Swipe down to turn off.” After this, pull the plate down and wait until the smartphone turns off. When the screen goes dark, press ON to turn on the smartphone.
Physical button combinations
Android
Suitable if the sensor or screen is damaged:
- Press and hold the power button and volume up key until it turns off completely.
- Hold down POWER and both volume keys (only for separate buttons!) and hold them for 10 seconds.
There is an option through the bootloader menu (Recovery). Enter the menu according to the instructions, but select Reboot Now:
iPhone
For iPhone 6, 6 plus, 6s, 6s plus, 5, 5S, 5C, SE, 4S and earlier, hold Home and Power for 10 seconds. After the screen goes completely dark, release the buttons. If the phone logo does not appear after this, just click on ON. If your iPhone 7 or later model is frozen, then hold down POWER and Volume Down at the same time, and then wait at least 5 seconds.
Important! The latter method is recommended to be used only when absolutely necessary, since this is a method of emergency (emergency) shutdown.
For Windows Phone
If your Windows smartphone is frozen, there are two options:
