Most families today have a gadget like a tablet - at least one. Portable computers manufactured under the Lenovo brand are in great demand today because they are convenient, compact and easy to use. However, like any equipment, over time it begins to fail, and certain problems are discovered that interfere with normal operation. Thus, owners often complain that Lenovo does not turn on.
Mechanical breakdowns
First of all, you need to make sure there are no mechanical breakdowns. This may be a hardware or mechanical damage, as a result of which the Lenovo yoga tablet does not turn on. This is especially true when the device is used not by one person, but by several, and there is no confidence that someone did not drop it or break it.
First, inspect the case; chips and other damage may be visible on it, indicating that there has been a fall or impact. If there are cracks, then you should not open the device yourself and find out why the tablet does not turn on. Before deciding what to do if the tablet does not start, it is tedious to carry out a series of tests to make sure that the software and hardware of the device are working properly.
Electronics failures
Inside each gadget there is an electronic “stuffing” hidden. Many mechanical reasons can cause it to fail, among them such trivial and common things as power surges and increased air humidity. In addition, it could be a manufacturing defect. In the latter case, the malfunction may be covered by the factory warranty.
However, if the gadget stops starting, the problem can often be solved independently and at home. But this must be done as quickly as possible - otherwise it will be more difficult to restore the device. This is especially true for such emergency cases as, for example, Lenovo falling into water. In this case, you need to very quickly perform the following steps:
- place it on a piece of soft cloth;
- try to remove the battery as soon as possible;
- take a hairdryer and dry it.
Some experts also recommend placing wet equipment in a container filled with rice - because the rice will absorb all the moisture. You can also use a bag filled with this cereal. But, if these tips do not help, then you should immediately take the equipment to a service center.
Battery and charging
How to turn on a Lenovo tablet if it refuses to respond to connecting the charger and the battery is low? If it does not start immediately after the charger is connected to the outlet, then you first need to make sure that there is voltage in the network. If there are no problems with this, then you will need to diagnose the charger by connecting it to some other phone, for example.
If there is voltage and the charger is working, but the Lenovo tablet does not respond to it, then you will need to remove the back cover to inspect the battery. This is often the main problem, because after some time of using the device, the failure may occur again.
When the battery stops working correctly, it needs to be replaced with another one of the same type. However, if it looks quite working, then you will need to check it using a universal charger. If the battery is working properly, it will be charged. Then you will have to conclude that the problem is in faulty contacts, and they require cleaning. You can do it yourself, or you can turn to professionals.
Solving a problem with a device that does not turn on, but has a non-removable battery, is more difficult. If you try to remove the battery yourself, this will be a violation of the warranty terms. Therefore, the most reasonable solution would be to seek qualified help.
If the situation repeats after the update, then you should pay attention to the power button - it may be faulty. Then you need to clean the contacts.
It’s important to know how to prevent such problems from occurring.
If you want to be prepared for such problems and get out of a difficult situation without losses, we advise you to do the following:
- Protecting your device from physical damage. This advice is no longer news, but it will never be superfluous[/su_list].
- Enable data synchronization on all accounts you trust: first of all, on Google. Enable uploading backup photos to Google+ or Facebook. By default, photos are saved in hidden albums that only you can see. If something goes wrong with your device, you can restore all your data when you restore it (or buy a new one).
- Don't clutter up your tablet's memory, try to install only those applications and games that you need, and, if possible, install them on the memory card. When choosing a memory card, look for a card that is at least class 10, or better yet, UHS-I. Only these cards will give you decent speed; we strongly do not recommend saving on small things and buying a class 4 card.
- Back up your apps regularly, preferably to a memory card or even to the cloud. We recommend the Titanium Backup application, which can save not only the applications themselves, but also their settings and data, and also send copies to the Dropbox server. We also advise you to purchase a licensed copy of this application: it will pay for itself in case of problems.

Software glitches
All gadgets of this brand are built on the Android operating system, which is very convenient because it allows their owners to play games, select beautiful themes, use organizers, training programs, etc. However, such an abundance of applications often leads to the system freezing, and it stops responding to pressing the power button.
In this case, some applications will have to be uninstalled. To do this, remove the memory card and need to format it. But, if the applications were installed not on it, but on the memory of the device itself, then you will have to resort to resetting the settings to factory settings.
Why is the tablet frozen and not responding to anything?
The tablet may freeze due to a software conflict. Why? Because the firmware may be updated, and installed applications may be incompatible with it.
Of course, you can't do without a forced reboot. If the options described above do not help, you will have to tackle the device more firmly.
Only then all the data will be destroyed (some of it can be saved if you remove the memory card).
Only the same option will not work for all devices. The most common option is to simultaneously press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Up” buttons when the tablet is turned on.
Sometimes you need to use the third “HOME” button. Then a menu will appear where, using the volume button, select “Settings” and then “Format System”.
When you click on “Reset Android”, a reboot will begin, as a result of which the tablet will be reset to factory settings.
NOTE: it has been noted that viruses can cause freezing, like in a computer - a full reset will eliminate this.
Screen
The touch screen is very convenient, but sometimes the device equipped with it freezes and does not turn on precisely because of the touch screen. But this situation is rare. In this case, gadget owners complain that Lenovo reacts to touching the power button, but the result of the work is not visible.
If Lenovo does not load beyond the splash screen or does not load beyond the logo, and the reason for this is a broken screen, then you will not be able to repair it yourself. The matrix will need to be replaced, which only specialists can handle.
What to do if your smartphone only boots up to the standard screensaver
As a result of hardware failure or OS malfunction, any Android smartphone may stop responding to the power button. Another common problem is when the phone does not turn on beyond the screensaver. At the same time, you can see on the screen the logo of the manufacturer or the standard “green robot” of the Android system, but then nothing happens.
Why won't my phone turn on?
If the gadget is stuck on the screensaver, there are 4 main reasons for the defect:
- Glitches of the Android operating system.
- Critical hardware failure as a result of water getting into the case, overheating of the board, or a strong shock. In this case, Android may start loading and finally fail.
- Incorrect actions when installing custom firmware, resulting in failure of the operating system.
- The memory card is incompatible with the device.
- Shorted SIM card.
- Insufficient free memory, slowing down the startup process. In this case, the phone boots, but very slowly: within 3–5 minutes.
Phone stuck on startup screen
What you definitely shouldn’t do is disassemble the case yourself in an attempt to determine the cause of the breakdown. Without the appropriate skills, you can not only lose the warranty, but also completely “kill” the device. If you accidentally flood or drop your gadget, contact an official service center or a reliable technician for help.
We take out the SIM card
It works in almost 100% of cases, first we try to remove the SIM card and boot without it.
We take out the memory card
Be sure to remove the memory card from the device. Almost half of all startup glitches are caused by this small memory chip. How to do this correctly, see the instructions for the device; there is no universal method.
Software malfunctions
The most common cause of freezing is when Android does not load beyond the logo. To fix the problem, try entering Recovery Mode:
- For Samsung Galaxy with the Bixby button - hold down the power switch, volume up and Bixby at the same time. When Samsung appears on the screen, release the power.
- For other Samsung gadgets, press the volume up and down buttons, as well as the lock button, then wait for the download icon to appear.
- LG - hold down the volume down and power control, release after turning on the screen.
- HTC - instructions are identical to LG devices.
Once you get to the Recovery menu, which is navigated using hardware buttons, you can take the following actions:
- Clear the cache by selecting Wipe Cache Partition using the volume rocker and the lock button.
- Perform a full reset to factory settings, deleting all data. The Wipe Data/Factory reset option is responsible for this action. Please note that this action will delete all your data and return the device to its factory state.
- After completing the necessary settings, select Reboot System Now to attempt a reboot.
Reflash the device
If the above steps did not help, all that remains is to flash the device manually using a computer and special programs. For example, for Samsung it is the Odin utility. For each device, the instructions and firmware themselves are different; the necessary information specifically for your phone can be found on the forums.
How to determine if the battery is good
A common cause of problems is battery failure. It is quite easy to determine the defect: if, when connected to the power adapter, a charging icon appears on the screen, increasing the charge level over time, everything is good. But if, when you disconnect the charger, the gadget completely stops responding to button presses or refuses to charge, there is probably a problem with the battery or power connector. In this case, the only correct solution is to contact the manufacturer’s service center. For example, for owners of the Samsung Galaxy line, warranty service is carried out at Samsung centers.
Wake up from sleep mode
Sometimes, after some time of inactivity, Lenovo freezes and does not turn on. This indicates one thing: the gadget has entered “sleep mode”. At this time, it does not give any reaction to touching the power button, screen, etc.
To turn on the device, just connect it to a charger plugged into a power outlet. After this, you can watch the screen light up and turn it on. To prevent this difficulty from arising in the future, you need to go to the screen settings and change them for the “sleep mode” function.
Restoring functionality
If your Android tablet or smartphone encounters errors when loading, this means that you should clear its memory and settings. Without this, the operating system will not be able to boot correctly.
Let's consider two ways to restore the functionality of the gadget. Method one:
- When the device is stuck on the screensaver, you need to hold down the power key and hold it for at least 10 seconds until the device turns off.
- When the screen turns off completely, you need to release the power button.
- Now hold down the volume rocker (volume up key). While holding it, press the power button.
- A menu should appear where we select the “Settings” item using the volume buttons and select it with the power button.
- Click on format the system (“Wipe data/factory reset”).
- Now select “Reset Android”, then the Android device will reboot.
After this, problems with freezing on the logo and turning on should not occur. It should be remembered that such a reset will completely delete all data (except system data) from the device. There is no way to save them. Because of this, it is recommended to always copy important information, regularly synchronize your phone contacts with your computer, and back up the product.
The second method has the same result, but is done a little differently:
- We turn off the device as described in the previous option.
- We press both buttons loudly and wait.
- Release the buttons when the context menu appears.
- Select the item “Clean boot”.
- The settings will be reset and the gadget will reboot automatically.
If these methods do not solve the problem, then the product, in the best case, will require flashing, and in the worst case, repair of hardware problems.
Cardinal decision
When all the methods described above did not give any result, you can solve the problem radically - reset to factory settings. But when doing this, you need to remember that as a result the data will be formatted: all applications, recorded contacts, messages, etc. will be deleted. The memory will be completely cleared and you will have to install and write everything again.
You can perform a reset by going to the settings, where there will be an option “Reset with restoration of factory settings.”
This is possible for any models of this company, including Lenovo Tab. Therefore, the question of how to find out the Lenovo tablet model is not worth it in this case. Thus, you can independently eliminate almost all the reasons why Lenovo does not turn on correctly. If these methods do not work and the device does not start, then you need to contact a service center.
Master reset
There is a chance to “start” your tablet friend by resetting its settings to factory settings. It is best, before rebooting a Chinese tablet, to search the Internet for instructions on the hard reset procedure specifically for your tablet model.
In general terms, the algorithm of actions is as follows:
- Turn off the gadget and remove the memory card and SIM card just in case.
- Press and hold the power button and volume key for ten seconds.
- The device should vibrate, after which a menu will appear on the screen. Using the power and volume keys, select “Settings”, then “Format System”.
- Stop at the “Reset” item - the tablet will reboot.
Just a few movements and the settings will return to factory settings. If the Chinese tablet does not start after all the manipulations, then repeat it all over again. Don’t worry if you didn’t succeed the first time; for the most part, for beginners, everything works out like clockwork on the second try.
