How to Find out if a Blocked Caller Called on an MTS iPhone

The blacklist is a great thing. Thanks to it, you can forever forget about telephone spam and calls from those with whom you for some reason do not want to communicate. Today, this function is present in almost any smartphone, allowing you to block unwanted callers or random numbers so as not to distract your attention to them. It’s another matter if blocking for you is just a gesture, and you really want to see whether the person you added to the blacklist called you or not. Well, it's possible.

You can view calls from blocked subscribers, but not everywhere

First, a little clarification. Blocking phone numbers is part of the Phone app, which may differ from smartphone to smartphone. So don't be surprised if your device doesn't have this tool by default.

The mobile traffic limit on Android has been exceeded. How to disable

However, it may also be that there is an opportunity to block a contact, but there is no opportunity to see if he tried to call you after blocking. Fortunately, this feature is available by default on Huawei and Honor smartphones. Surely there are somewhere else.

How to find out

There are three options:

  1. Through the “Phone” section. To do this, just look at the missed calls. In the list you will see information about all missed calls, including those from subscribers on the black list.
  2. Via SMS. To do this, go to the section with SMS messages and click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen. There you need to select the line “Blocked”. It is in this section that all information about blocked subscribers is stored (information about messages and calls from them).
  3. Another way is to check with your mobile operator. To do this, call the hotline and request a statement for a certain period of time (week, month). Usually the operator sends a document in the form of SMS, where you can view all SMS messages and calls that have been received to your number for a specified period of time. Calls from subscribers on the black list will also be recorded in the statement. Important: some operators provide statements only for a fee. The cost, as a rule, does not exceed 30 rubles, and the money is debited from the mobile phone account.

Some smartphones have a feature that allows you to set up blacklisted notifications. If you clicked on the “Allow” button in the “Blocked” section (to find it, click the three dots on the right in the “Phone” menu), then call alerts will come, regardless of whether you need them or not. You can prohibit sending notifications at any time by simply moving the slider to the inactive position.

Blacklist and blocked calls: what is it?

A blacklist or blacklist is usually called a function that provides the ability to block incoming calls and SMS from certain subscribers.

On Xiaomi smartphones, the option is a special tool that can be configured at the discretion of the phone owner. For example, you can block one number or the entire list of contacts, set a ban or, conversely, allow receiving notifications and calls from strangers, add subscribers to a black or white list, etc.

To find the “blacklist” function, you will need:

  1. From the desktop, launch the “Security” application and scroll down to the “Antispam” item.
  2. Find the gear in the upper right corner and click on it. Opposite the line “Enable antispam” you will need to move the slider. The option will become active.

In the blacklist, you can see a list of numbers from which it is prohibited to receive calls and SMS, but at the same time the user will see whether they were actually made or not.

You need to click on the plus sign and enter the words you don’t want to see in messages, separated by commas. For example, “discounts”, “promotions”, “follow the link”, “compensation”, “unique offer”, etc. That is, you can add absolutely any phrase. You can change this list at any time.

Where to call to block your SIM card?

If you need to block your SIM card, call your operator.
There are situations when, for one reason or another, it becomes necessary to block your SIM card. The service restriction can be permanent or temporary. So where to go, where to call to have your SIM card blocked?

  • Call the central customer support department of your mobile operator , which owns this number: MTS - o890, Beeline - 8-800-700-06-11, Megafon - 8-800-550-05-00, Tele2 - 611 .
  • If you have the SIM card that needs to be blocked , call customer service directly from it using your smartphone.
  • If this option is not available (for example, when the card is lost or the phone is stolen), you can make a call to your cellular service provider from any other SIM card of the same operator.
  • There is another alternative - contact the contact center for help from a city telephone using a special number.

To connect, each company you collaborate with submits its contacts. For all providers, the procedure is almost the same, but when contacting a contact center employee, it is worth remembering that you will be asked for information about the person for whom the real SIM card is issued. For example, you may need passport data, registration address, and the code word specified when entering registration data.

What does a person hear if his number is blocked?

Different types of beeps in the handset are designed to determine what is wrong with the subscriber's phone. When dialing a number and making a call, we hear the usual long monophonic sounds. When the phone is turned off or is not within the cellular network, you can hear the robot respond with a certain speech. If your number is blacklisted on another phone and you try to call it, you are more likely to hear that the number is currently unable to answer.

This is exactly the answer that sounds both in the standard application on the phone and in those that are installed separately.

An offline subscriber can be heard from different mobile operators. Some applications allow you to customize the answer and choose how your smartphone will reject unwanted calls from the blacklist. If you use the operator lock function, a technical support representative will help you find out.

Or the website of the operator from whom you purchase services. Technical information about services and network operation can be found in the “Help”, “Support”, “Questions and Answers” section.

Tip #1: Unusual messages when you call

There is no standard blocked number message, and many people don't want you to know for sure when they blocked you. If you receive an unusual message that you haven't heard before, they have most likely blocked your number through their wireless carrier. The message varies depending on the carrier, but is generally similar to the following:

  • "The person you are calling is unavailable"
  • “The person you are calling is not accepting calls right now.”
  • “The number you are calling is temporarily out of service.”

If you call once a day for two to three days and receive the same message every time, the evidence shows that you are blocked.

Exceptions: They often travel abroad, natural disasters damage network infrastructure (cell towers and transmitters), or a major event that results in an unusually large number of calls being made at once, although in this case they usually say "all lines are busy."

The number you dialed is blocked: what does this mean?

The number you dialed is blocked
“The number you dialed is blocked” - what does this mean? The answering machine says this phrase in several cases:

  • The owner of the phone lost the number and called the mobile company to block the subscriber number.
  • The subscriber does not have enough funds to receive the call.
  • Suspicion of a person in fraud and fraud.
  • If a person is roaming . A subscriber located in another region may be temporarily blocked by the operator due to insufficient payment funds in the account. Despite the fact that roaming has now been canceled in Russia, blocking of subscribers may occur due to the fact that this function has not yet been fully developed.

Most often, it is the operator who is the blocker. But it also happens when the subscriber himself blocks his phone number. How to solve this problem? If you yourself blocked your subscriber number, naturally, you do not need to find ways to solve this problem. But if you are blocked without even warning, here are the steps you need to take:

  • You must find out why you were blocked - call the operator or go to a communication shop. Ask the experts a question about blocking.
  • Find out how long you were blocked - if it’s temporary, then wait until the time runs out. If the blocking is permanent, then talk to communication representatives and find out whether it is possible to restore the SIM card.

We have considered all the cases that are possible when a subscriber number is blocked. But it’s better not to violate the operator’s laws so as not to fall into such situations.

In this case, you can send an SMS message by first enabling the “delivery report” option on your device. If a report of successful message delivery arrives immediately, then most likely a block has occurred. In the case when a notification arrives that an SMS cannot be delivered, we can conclude that the person is most likely outside the network coverage area, in an area with a poor cellular signal, or his phone is turned off.

The number or subscriber is blocked by the operator: what to do?

The number is blocked by the operator
Cellular operators can block mobile phones. subscriber numbers for only a few reasons:

  • Negative cash balance
  • Long absence of subscriber activity
  • System error

What to do if the number is blocked by the operator? To find out the true circumstances of what happened, you need to contact the support service. Contact center specialists will be able to explain on what basis the number was blocked and give brief instructions on further actions.

If the blocking was activated due to a negative personal account, then it will be enough to simply top up the balance with an amount that covers the debt. You can do this:

  • Via LC at the office. mobile company website.
  • Via online bank.
  • Through self-service payment terminals.
  • With the help of personnel in the retail sales offices of the company where you maintain your telephone number.

If no payments have been made to the number for more than 2-3 months and there have been no transactions, the SIM card is blocked forever. You can try to restore access by filing a statement, but a positive decision will be unlikely. Sometimes programs crash and the number may be deactivated by mistake. To resolve a conflict situation, you need to draw up an application requesting an inspection. The call center employee will be able to register a claim over the phone.

How to delete a number

If the situation has changed over time, then it is possible to remove the identifier previously included in the Beeline Black List. When the service is disabled, the entire list of unwanted subscribers is released from the restriction. If you need to remove a number from the list individually, the command *110*772*7ХХХХХХХХХ# .

If the client suspects that he might have accidentally placed a restriction on the wrong subscriber, then it is possible to view the list of Black List numbers. To do this, dial the command *110*773# , the action is free.

Service activation options

To start using the option, you will need to connect in the mobile application or remotely on the operator’s website. If for some reason there is no Internet access, a simple USSD command *220*1# will work for activation. Using the request *220*0# you can turn it off, and using *220*# you can quickly check its status.

No special connection is required for the option; it is enabled the moment the first blocked contact is added to the ignore list.

Tip #3: Busy or Fast Busy Signal followed by Shutdown

If you receive a busy signal or fast busy signal before the call is dropped, your number may be blocked through your wireless carrier. If test calls several days in a row produce the same result, consider this evidence that you are blocked. Of the various clues that indicate a blocked number, this one is the least common, although some operators still use it.

A much more likely reason for this outcome is that either your carrier or their carrier is experiencing technical difficulties. To check, call someone else—especially if they have the same operator as the person you're trying to reach—and see if the call goes through.

Hint #2: Number of rings

If you only hear one ring or none at all before the call goes to voicemail, it's a good sign that you're blocked. In this case, the person used the number blocking feature on his phone. If you call once a day for several days and get the same result every time, this is strong evidence that your number is blocked. If you hear three to five rings before the calls route to voicemail, you are probably not blocked (yet), but the person is rejecting or ignoring your calls.

Report unwanted messages in Messages

In Messages, you can mark iMessages as spam. When you receive an iMessage from someone who isn't in your contacts list, you'll see a "Report Spam" link.

Click it, and then click “Delete and report as spam.” Messages will forward the sender's information and message to Apple and delete the message from your device. After this, it will be impossible to restore the message.

The spam report does not block future messages from that sender. If you do not want to receive such messages, you must block the contact.

To report unwanted SMS and MMS messages, contact your service provider.

Sometimes you receive calls and messages on your phone that spoil your mood or simply distract you from important matters. To prevent unpleasant personalities and intrusive network companies from calling or writing, Tele2 offers clients. Let's get acquainted with this service and learn how to use its capabilities.
