Step-by-step instructions for changing the region on Android:
Google Play Market automatically sets regional parameters, but when moving to another country, the user will have to manually change the region in the Play Market.
Important! Changing the country in the Play Market is available no more than once a year.
To do this you need:
I hope the article “How to change the region on an Android phone or tablet” was useful to you.
Didn't find the answer? Then use the search form:
Step 3 . Launch the Settings , and select the “All applications” section of the “Device” category.
Changing the country for Google Play
Some users may experience difficulties purchasing applications in the Play Market after moving to another country, since the account remains tied to the previous region of residence. Most often, the Google service automatically sets the necessary regional settings, but sometimes the question of how to change the country on Android becomes more relevant. To resolve the issue, follow these steps:
Step 1 . Go to the settings of the bank card you use to pay for purchases on the Play Market and enter a new payment address.
Step 2 . Also include your new home address.
Note 1 . If several addresses are specified in the bank card settings, then set the new addresses as default.
Note 2 . Google Help can help you if you have problems changing your address: How to change your billing address, How to change your home address.
Step 3 . Launch the Settings , and select the “All applications” section of the “Device” category.
Step 4 . Select the Play Market (may also be called Google Play or Google Play Store ) and click the "Erase data" and "Clear cache" buttons.
Step 5 . Launch the Play Market and enter your account information. You can now shop in your new country.
Payment Workaround: Add a New Account
You will be prompted to provide a local payment method for the selected country if your account is set up with an existing payment profile. You can take advantage of this by creating a new Google account or adding an additional account that doesn't have a payment method on file.
After adding an account, swipe from the left edge of the screen in the Play Store app and select the new account from the drop-down menu at the top, then repeat steps one and two of this guide. When you launch the Play Store again, you should find that the country has now been changed.
There is an added benefit of using multiple accounts, as you can save them on your device and switch between different Play Store countries without having to worry about Google imposing changes on your main account's country settings.
For example, on my own device I have one account using the Irish store, another for the US store and a third for the UK store. Switching between them is easy, and once the app has been downloaded, it can be used by any account, regardless of its country settings.
Not the safest way
This method is suitable for those who have already unlocked root rights on their smartphone or do not mind doing it first. To learn how to get root access on Android, take a look at our instructions. The steps may vary depending on your smartphone model.
Next, download and install the Market Unlocker app. In some cases, this is enough, and the Play Market will be immediately unblocked. If this does not happen, follow these steps:
- Turn on airplane mode and select Auto Unlock in Market Unlocker.
- Delete all data from the app store. To do this, go to the settings of your smartphone, select the “Applications” - “All” section and find the Play Market. Then clear all data as well as cache.
- Reboot your phone. The store should now be unlocked.

- Go to Settings → Applications → Samsung Apps and then click the clear data and clear cache buttons.
- Go back to all applications, find Samsung Apps and click on it. Select the correct country now.
Note: The correct country must be where you are currently located or the country you registered in first. Try the first country first, and if it still doesn't work, just repeat steps 1-2 above with another country.
Hope this works for you!
If your device is rooted, just install the Market Enabler app (you may find the APK as you need to install it manually)
Once launched, give it root access and then back up your current carrier data. Search for SIM operator codes. You should receive a list of all carriers in all countries and their corresponding 5-digit numeric code. Enter and apply the code of your choice (I chose Vodafone UK).
Not sure if the following steps are necessary, but I cleared data in Samsung Apps Store and My Gear Store.
When I downloaded them again, all the content was in English and the prices were in pounds and pence. The donation version allows you to set the code every time you reboot. (Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with the developer, I'm just grateful to finally have a solution to this ridiculous problem!)
- when blocking Smart Hub, change the region;
- if no errors occur, everything works fine, there is a Russian-language menu, there is no need to change the settings.
Unlock Smart Hub
Turn off the device, press the keys on the remote control in order: “Info - Menu - Mute - Power”.
The TV will turn on, and you will automatically be taken to the service menu. Now, using the up and down keys, go to the “Options” item. On the remote control press the “OK” key.
Go to the “Local Set” item, where we change “EU” to “CIS_RUSSIA”. On the remote control, press the “Return” key to return to the options. Reset system settings using the Factory Reset button. Confirm the actions with the “OK” button.
To exit the engineering menu, press the TV power off button on the remote control.
Turn on the receiver again, use the remote control to go to the menu, go to system settings and change the language.
We need "Russian".
We perform the steps to turn off the device and re-enter the service menu. We get to the items “Control” – “Sub option”, where we enter the following parameters in the second and third lines (see screenshot).
These steps will enable the service port and error timer, which will trigger a system reboot if serious problems occur.
If you select the India region in MIUI, the smartphone will sound louder
. Of course, not at full strength, as in Singapore, but the difference is still noticeable. But the main bonus is not this, but more system fonts in the “Themes” menu. By the way, in this region you can freely watch videos and listen to music online, but... only Indian content, which will sound, accordingly, in one of the local dialects.

By setting your region to Mexico, China or India, you become a reluctant tester
. Users in these countries are the first to receive all firmware updates, sometimes, of course, with bugs, but... If you like to try everything new before others, then why not?
What are the disadvantages of switching regions?
Despite the appearance of some interesting functions, changing the region also introduces some inconveniences. For example, the time zone changes to Indian . And instead of the usual Moscow +3, we get +5.5. But this can be corrected manually. Also, changing the region may entail changing the language of the calendar (and holidays, respectively) and installing additional programs .
Have you tried changing the region on your Xiaomi smartphone?
- download it, install it on your computer, connect your phone to it and launch Kies;
- in the program window, in the “Firmware Information” section, find the letters CSC and remember the symbols to the left of them;
- look for these characters in the CSC code table by determining the firmware region.
Why do they change the location in the browser?
Let's say you live in Samara and are going on vacation to St. Petersburg. Naturally, there you will need the Internet, where without it. Usually, another city is detected automatically, but if this does not happen, you will have to act manually.
Sometimes the default settings get lost on their own. Instead of the necessary information, an offer appears to buy asters in the Far Far Away Kingdom, which you will only be able to reach with the assistance of a good wizard with a flock of dragons! This is no good. You have to go into the settings.
But most often you have to change cities to work on the Internet. For example, when I write some articles, I need examples of good or not so good sites. I enter any region, and then start monitoring beauty salons, tattoo studios, real estate agencies, and so on.
By the way, if you are making websites for sale for a company, then by changing the location, you can look at competitors in other cities and get inspired or decide exactly what not to do.
In short, there can be many reasons. Let's get down to action, and I'll show you how to change geolocation in the browser of your phone and computer.
How to change IP address on Android?

Differences in Samsung functions depending on region
The firmwares themselves for a particular country are almost identical and differ only in the presence of additional settings. Therefore, if you have a Samsung that is not PCT-STB and you need to add additional functions to the firmware, then it is enough to change only the region. In most cases, changing the region on Samsung occurs without resetting the settings, with all data and software updates retained.

How can I find out if my phone has been flashed or not?
The easiest way to find out if your phone has been flashed is to check the IMEI. The phone's IMEI looks like a 15-digit digital code. The unique number of your smartphone will be displayed on the screen. Check it with the number indicated on the sticker under the battery, as well as on the box.
