Sometimes I get the impression that when I open the refrigerator, I find several Xiaomi products instead of food. Don't get me wrong - I use several devices from this brand privately and really appreciate them. The brand dominates many modern segments of the technology industry. Therefore, I happily took on the review of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 10T pro: review of another flagship from 2022. Is it worse than the regular Mi10?
A real review of a simplified flagship.
Hello everyone , Xiaomi has released another version of their flagship from 2022 – Mi 10T Pro . In this review you will find out: what they changed, what they saved on, whether it is worth buying this or better than the regular Mi 10 and other interesting facts about the model. Go!
The first impressions you get from the box. It is large and weighs quite a bit, and already here you understand what you paid for. The black matte box looks rich. The model and its important features are indicated in gold: 108MP and 5G.
The equipment is not bad: a 33W fast charging unit, a Type-C cable (marked “3A” on it), an adapter from Type-C to 3.5 mm, a silicone case. The case is made of soft silicone and is two-thirds matte. This matte part has the brand name on it. The letters are large. The brand has long moved from the category of economy to simply a mass and recognized product. So it won't look embarrassing.
The design is not as memorable as that of the Mi 10. The screen is without curves and has a massive chin; in the left corner there is a small hole for the selfie camera. The steel frame has edges at the top and bottom, otherwise it is rounded, which is the norm for smartphones from Xiaomi and Redmi. There is glass at the back. And it is also ordinary for Xiaomi: thin and similar to plastic. But it has an oleophobic coating, so prints can be erased with any cloth without any difficulties.
Dimensions and weight : 165.1 x 76.4 x 9.3 mm and 218 g. Large? Normal, now everyone makes big smartphones, but for me it’s too big. Heavy? Yes, Mi 10t Pro is heavier than the regular Mi 10, Redmi note 9 Pro and iPhone 11.
In general , this smartphone is almost identical in size to the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The flagship wins in terms of width and height (fractions of millimeters). But in terms of thickness and weight, Redmi wins - half a millimeter thinner and 9 g lighter. In my opinion, these are two siblings.
Case colors graphite , silver and blue. The frame is dark gray for the graphite version, while the others are simply polished.
The screen can be called excellent: 6.67″ LCD matrix (LTPS is a competitor to IPS, but for us, consider it the same thing) with HDR10 , a resolution of 2400x1080 (395 ppi) and a crazy refresh rate of 144Hz . Also: occupies 85.2%, sRGB coverage is 97.9%, brightness is 619 nits, covered with 5th generation Gorilla Glass glass. What can I say : the picture is of very high quality, with good viewing angles and brightness, which will be comfortable even in sunny weather. Mi 10T Pro produces a very nice picture, I’ll even say this: aspiring to Amoled. I was pleasantly surprised. And here is our material on the topic of choice: IPS or Amoled. I recommend.
Filling:
- Chip 865 from Snapdragon – 7Nm, 8 cores up to 2.84 GHz.
- Graphics – Andreno 650.
- Memory: 8/128 and 8/256 . You cannot install a flash drive, so immediately choose a model according to your needs.
- 5G, Wi-Fi6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, IR port for controlling equipment.
- 2 physical Nano-sims. eSIM was not delivered.
Overall performance is at a very high level. You already understand that with the 865 chip everything flies and cannot lag. All the games I launched ran exclusively on the highest settings. As for connections : the connection is excellent, the GPS signal does not lose, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reach far and do not fall off.
Cameras . There are enough of them in a thick block: the main one is 108MP with optical stabilization, the wide one is 13MP and the macro lens is 5MP. Interesting things: Bokeh effect, RAW format support.
The main camera shoots well, I especially liked the video stabilization. Shirik is not bad, but he’s just good and that’s all. But the macro upset me. And not right away: when taking a survey photo with a macro lens, I really liked the picture, but when focusing on a small object, the quality quickly disappears. Below are comparisons between the macro capabilities of Mi 1oT Pro and Samsung S10. You will see everything for yourself.
The 20MP selfie camera is quite ordinary. There aren't a lot of details: iPhones and Samsung flagships take better pictures. But the quality of the selfie module is quite enough for excellent photos and video communications. The advantages include excellent autofocus and work with light.
Mi10T Pro – macro
S10 – macro
Mi10T Pro – macro
S10 – macro
The sound is clear and very loud, even some bassiness is present. Melodies come through the main and auditory speakers, stereo is felt. But with all this, the sound is poorly balanced: it is very high at the top, there is almost no middle, if it were not for the bass, the sound would not be very good at all. And so you can give it a four . Well, maybe with a small minus sign. What am I comparing to? With smartphones from Samsung (those where the guys from AKG worked on the sound) and iPhone. Let me remind you that there is no 3.5mm, so an adapter is included in the kit. But there’s no messing around with wireless sound – AptX is in place.
Energy . The built-in 5000 mAh battery lasts a long time, but not too much. The 144 Hz update still requires a lot of recharge. Without games, the Mi 10T Pro is definitely enough for a day. It will last much less with games, but that’s why they gave you fast charging. She can replenish the supply by 60% in just half an hour, and can fully charge it in less than an hour. These are simply excellent results. But there are some drawbacks: there is no wireless charging, and, of course, there is no reverse charging either.
If you are interested in moisture protection , then there is none. I'm sure your phone will survive rain, but the manufacturer itself can't tell you anything. In general this is a minus. It's not even that you can't write a travel blog underwater. But each of us can drop our phone into a bath or pond.
The fingerprint was placed in the power button. The choice is also quite normal for Xiomi. Moreover, the button itself is exactly the same as in, for example, Redmi Note 9 Pro. But as for the operation of the sensor, everything is in perfect order. It works lightning fast and without errors. Moreover, everything is fine even with wet and not the cleanest hands. After the under-screen sensors - super. I'm already unused to this. Also: it’s convenient that the sensor is located in the right place. Right under your finger. Below is a photo of the fingerprint scanners of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.
The firmware in February 2022 is MiUI 12, by mid-2022 version number 12.5 will be released. In general, this shell is convenient, everything is logical and predictable. Gesture controls won't surprise anyone these days. Xiaomi did it perfectly - convenient and without false positives.
Telephone functions . I already said above that the connection is very stable and does not cause any complaints. What about the conversations themselves? You can be heard perfectly, you will also hear everyone loud and clear.
Prices in February 2022. The official store offers only the 256GB version and asks 49,990 rubles for it. On Ya.Market this modification can be purchased from 43,000 rubles. A more profitable 128GB version can be purchased only on the Market and costs from 41,500 rubles. On the secondary market you can find something thousands for 35-37.
Here is our review of the Xiaomi Mi 10. Since we always keep it in mind when comparing with the Mi 10T Pro.
By the way , here are our other reviews from 2022: iPhone 11, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Samsung S10, Huawei P40.
Conclusion . Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is a good smartphone, but overpriced (for Russia). Does it have enough advantages? Yes, there are enough of them: excellent hardware and performance, good cameras, a high-quality 144Hz screen, loud sound and extremely fast printouts. But there are also disadvantages: non-premium design, lack of wireless charging and moisture protection, not the most affordable price.
Left – flagship, right – Redmi Note 9 Pro
In general , I am left with the impression that the Mi 10T Pro is an older and richer, but still sibling to the Redmi Note 9 Pro. In fact, they have the same dimensions and even the lock button is the same. The chins are also the same for both. Yes, this is a more expensive and high-quality device, but the difference is acutely noticeable only when comparing screens. What about the regular Mi 10? The regular flagship is cooler in everything, it is inferior to our smart only in the update frequency, but will you notice this harm in everyday life. What would I take? An ordinary 10th, or even better, a used one. Their prices on the secondary market are almost equal. Everyone likes it!

Design and appearance
The first impression is that the phone is quite large. Despite the bezel-less design, the 6.67-inch screen means that people with small hands will have to look elsewhere.
The trend of growing mobile device sizes is something that I personally do not welcome, and I hope that other manufacturers will follow Apple's experience and understand that a powerful smartphone does not have to be the size of a saucepan.
The body consists of Gorilla Glass 5 and aluminum. The quality of materials and their combination are at the best level. Nothing to complain about here – flagship? that's all. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro smartphone has a flat screen and a rounded back - this improves ergonomics and makes the device comfortable in the hand. It’s nice to hold and quite comfortable to use, although the gadget is still too big for me.
The USB-C port is located at the bottom of the smartphone, next to it is the speaker, microphone and tray for two nanoSIM cards. The fingerprint scanner is located to the right of the wake-up button - above it is the volume rocker. The left side frame of the device is completely empty. At the top there is an infrared port and a microphone. The body is cut through with seven stripes of antennas - their color is much darker, so they are noticeable, however, they are necessary for the correct operation of high-speed communications.
The unusual design of the camera module also attracts attention - the main lens stands out - it is much larger than the others and is located in the central part. The capabilities of the lens are emphasized by the proud inscription 108MP Camera. The module itself protrudes above the surface of the housing, which causes extremely low comfort of use on a flat surface. Even the silicone transparent case included in the kit does not help - in this regard, only a really thick case would improve the ergonomics, but no one would want to put it on an already large and relatively thick smartphone. Although the weight of the device is not small, it does not particularly bother you during everyday use.
It is worth noting that the design does not boast a waterproof certificate, and this is the first point where the Mi 10T Pro begins to differ from similar devices. I believe that water resistance is one of the characteristics that is highly valued by potential new owners - unfortunately, it is not here.
Google Camera for Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro [Best GCam]
In terms of optics, both the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro bill for a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5MP telephoto lens. The main sensor uses Nona-binning technology, which combines nine shots into one. As always, the MIUI camera app supports all the useful features like Pro Mode, Night Mode, Long Exposure Mode, Video Effects and other useful modes. Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro capture beautiful and colorful images, but if you want to improve things, you can try the Pixel 6 camera app, also known as a port of the GCam mod.
The latest port of GCam also known as Google Camera 8.3 comes with a lot of amazing features which include: Astrophotography Mode, Night Sight, SloMo, Beauty Mode, Enhanced HDR, Lens Blur, Photosphere, Playground, RAW Support, Google Lens, and much more with the GCam 8.3 port. Apart from these features, the latest port also supports the Material You theme for Android 12. Now, let's see how to download and install the Google Camera app on Xiaomi 11T and Mi 11T Pro.
Smartphone screen
Although the Mi 10T Pro uses an LCD display, I'm not going to complain - the screen, which takes up about 85% of the front panel, has a density of 395 ppi and a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels.
What distinguishes the panel of the tested Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro from its competitors is its high refresh rate - the device can operate in 144 Hz mode, which guarantees perfect smoothness during games or other entertainment that requires it. The update works in adaptive mode, designed to reduce battery consumption - the value will adapt to current operating conditions. In other words, it will turn on when needed.
On the front panel, or rather? In the upper left corner, there is a cutout for the camera in the form of a small circle - the frames at the top and bottom are noticeably thicker than the side ones. The screen is pleasing to the eye. Excellent contrast, pleasant rich colors and high brightness create the best experience when using the device. Black colors are not faded when the density is quite high. In the device settings on the display tab we can adjust the brightness level, enable reading mode (reduces the amount of blue light), here it is also possible to select suitable colors or take advantage of the dark mode.
Here we also find options for adjusting the refresh rate - where we decide whether we want to use high (144 Hz), medium (90 Hz) or standard (60 Hz) frequency. For the testing period, I had the maximum mode turned on. The fluidity of the animation is great and will grab the attention of anyone who has previously used a device with a lower refresh rate display. The feature certainly compensates to some extent for the lack of an OLED screen in the device - in return we get a very smooth image in almost any situation.
Screens
Both phones have large screens – 6.67 and 6.81 inches diagonally (Mi 11 is larger) with Full HD+ resolution. But there is a difference: the Mi 11 has an Amoled matrix with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the Mi 10T has an IPS matrix with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. You'll hardly notice the difference between 120 and 144 Hz, but between IPS and Amoled it's true - the colors on Amoled are more contrasty.
To be more precise: the contrast ratio on the Mi 10T Pro is 1165:1, which is low even for IPS; brightness – 630 nits. On Xiaomi Mi 11, the contrast is maximum due to the lack of light on black tones, the brightness is 926 nits. The screen is MUCH better on the Xiaomi Mi 11, but also more expensive.
Cameras Mi 10T Pro
At first glance, I really liked the main camera module of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, it is unusual and attracts the attention of others. However, it protrudes above the surface of the back, which spoils the whole effect. When I wanted to use my smartphone on a flat table surface, I immediately discovered that it was inconvenient and sometimes annoying.
If we look at the appearance, the largest eye of the main camera, surrounded by a silver shiny frame, is decorated with the inscription – 108MP CAMERA. Below, in two rows, the manufacturer placed the remaining elements of the system. There is an ultra-wide 13-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture and a viewing angle of 123 degrees, as well as a 5-megapixel macro camera with f/2.4 and flash.
The application is simple and intuitive, looks the same as in any other Xiaomi model. At the top we have access to the flash, HDR, AI, beauty mode and the “more” tab - here we will adjust the aspect ratio, be able to use the self-timer, grid and level, enable background blur or macro mode. At the bottom there is access to a menu with a variety of camera modes - Pro, video or portrait. When we go to the “More” tab, we will see a 108-megapixel mode, slow motion, or the ability to use both cameras simultaneously.
There's also a night mode here - luckily, the menu can be edited to keep the most frequently used options within thumb's reach. Below there is a simple control center - here we find a thumbnail of the last photo taken, a shutter button and a switch between the front and rear cameras. Professional mode allows you to manually control all parameters. You can adjust the white balance, ISO or shutter speed to create your own, well-designed final effect.
The Photos tab gives you the ability to use ultra-wide-angle (0.6X) and wide-angle (1X) cameras, as well as 2x digital zoom of the photographed scene (2X). Portrait mode has several options for illuminating the subject, adjusting the amount of background blur, and controlling the intensity of the digital faux embellishment.
In night mode, you can use the main camera (1X) and dual zoom (2X) - take photos while pressing the shutter button while trying to hold the device still. The effects are quite good - although there is sometimes some flare in the pictures, probably due to the design of the lens. The detailing is good, the mode enhances shadows and dims the glow of lamps, you can get good results with it.
The quality of macro photography was a pleasant surprise. I expected what we usually get from low to mid-priced smartphones - poor quality. I would like to note right away that the macro photography of the device under test is not ideal, although the effects of its operation are mostly satisfactory.
The front camera with a resolution of 20 MP guarantees high detail. Selfies are high-quality, bright and aesthetic. There is access to portrait mode with the function of controlling the level of blur after shooting. The camera distinguishes plans well, and the results look quite natural.
The Mi 10T Pro smartphone allows you to shoot video in resolutions: 8K at 24 and 30 frames per second, 4K at 30 and 60 frames, 1080P at 30 and 60 frames and 720P at 30 frames per second. There is also the option to enable additional image stabilization. A special feature, of course, is the ability to record video from both cameras simultaneously - thanks to this we can shoot a given scene and our own report about it.
How to install Google camera on Xiaomi
We decided to install the stable version of Google Camera and chose version Gcam 7.3.018 developed by Urnyx.
In the Suggested Versions section, select a modification. On the website they are collected into categories and divided by application and Android version
After choosing a modification:
- download the APK file to your smartphone
- allow installation of programs from unknown sources
- Install the downloaded APK file
- waiting for the installation to complete
- launch the application and enjoy the photos
If after installation the application does not work or crashes, install the next build of the application and check the operation of the application. And so on until we find a working application assembly.
You can buy Xiaomi smartphones with Google Camera support on this page.
System and software
Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12.0.6 overlay. During testing, an update to the latest version was released.
Default control with function buttons (as experience has shown) is a feature of all Xiaomi smartphones. Luckily, you can change it to more convenient, intuitive gestures. The device's menu is flat - all applications are located on retractable screens, which we access by swiping to the left. The Google widget module, which slides out on the left, displays articles of interest and current weather data.
I really like the design of the so-called top control center. From it we have access to all the main functions of the device, the use of which is intuitive and simple. We can change the order of the buttons so that everything can be customized to suit your preferences. Very clear and simple - I like such solutions.
The aesthetics and quality of work using the proposed Mi 10T Pro shell are at a very high level. Finally, I’ll add a few words about the tactile sensations of the system - in my opinion, here we get an elegant and complete device. There's a nice feedback tone when you press the app buttons, effectively simulating physical keys. It’s a small thing, but using the devices becomes more pleasant and clearer.
Where to download the Google Camera app
You can download Google Camera on the XDA Developers or w3bsit3-dns.com forums. But to find a working modification for the desired model you will have to spend a lot of time. We recommend a simpler option - the celsoazevedo website, where all modifications of the Google camera on Android smartphones are collected. So, for example, the site has a Suggested Versions section, which contains stable builds of the application that work on most smartphones. Or you can find the latest versions of the application, which are available on this page.
Components and Performance
The heart of the gadget is the eight-core Snapdragon 865 processor with 8 GB of RAM - this set, combined with 128 GB of internal memory (not expandable), guarantees a high-end work culture of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.
Instant access to applications, their fast operation and trouble-free return to programs that were already opened some time ago. You won't have to wait long, and the experience is further enhanced by the high refresh rate of the screen. We get a smartphone with maximum performance, running very smoothly and with instant response to commands - it never disappointed me during the tests.
What you need to know before installation
Google Camera is being developed for Pixel smartphones running on Snapdragon processors. This means that the application is only compatible with these processors. On chipsets from other manufacturers, the application either does not work or works with limitations.
In addition to the processor, the application requires support for the Camera2 API driver.
Camera2 API is a set of tools that connects smartphone hardware and camera software. Most Xiaomi smartphones support this driver, but it is better to check in advance.
To check, download the Camera2 API Probe application from the Play Market. After installation, launch and check driver support in the “Hardware support level” item.
LEVEL_3 - full driver support with extended functionality
FULL - full driver support
LIMITED - Some driver features are supported. You can install the Google Camera app, but software enhancements are not available.
LEGACY - support for the old Camera1 API driver. The application will also install, but software enhancements will not be available.
If the smartphone does not support the driver, you can manually activate it, but this requires root rights and some steps. Instructions on how to activate the driver can be found on the Internet.
Communications and connections
Xiaomi has equipped the Mi 10T Pro with a module that supports the fastest possible connection – 5G. In addition, we have Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC - so we can pay with our phone in most stores that support payment cards.
During tests, I also did not notice any problems with Internet connection, call quality or GPS performance. Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is a good travel companion and a reliable device for everyday work.
Audio and sound
Another very big plus is the quality of the stereo system implementation. Two speakers provide greater comfort when watching movies or listening to music. Stereo speakers offer us high volume and good quality of reproduced sounds. You won't hear pops or unpleasant sounds even at higher volumes.
There are no headphones in the box, the smartphone is not equipped with a 3.5 mm jack - we only get an adapter that allows you to connect wired headphones. However, the presence of Bluetooth 5.1 and a good wireless headset solves the problem.
Data Security
The main biometric system that the device is equipped with is a fingerprint scanner located on the side. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro power button has a built-in fast module, which is highly accurate and reliable in everyday use. The location of the key suggests that it will be more convenient to use it with the thumb or index finger of the right hand. I rate the reader well, it works properly and is accompanied by animation of applications.
As usual, the manufacturer offers an alternative - we can register facial data in the form of a two-dimensional scan. The feature does not guarantee a high standard of security, so I recommend using the first biometric security method. There is also the option to keep the smartphone unlocked next to the selected Bluetooth device.
Download Google Camera for Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro
One of the best features of the new Xiaomi 11T series phones is the inclusion of Camera2 API. Camera2 API allows you to use the GCam app on your 11T or 11T Pro smartphone without rooting the device. Here we attach the latest GCam ports from the developers Wichaya and BSG. Luckily, both apps work perfectly on Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G (NE). Here are the download links.
- Download Google Camera 8.1 for Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro (GCam_8.1.101_Wichaya_V1.4.apk) [recommended]
- Download Google Camera 8.3 for Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro (MGC_8.3.252_V0e_MGC.apk) [Latest Beta Version]
After downloading and installing, make sure to follow the below recommended settings on your phone through which you can easily take amazing pictures without facing any problems.
Note. Before installing the new ported Gcam Mod app, be sure to uninstall the old version (if you have installed it). This is an unstable version of Google Camera and may contain bugs.
Recommended settings:
- GCam 8.1 Configuration File - Download Link
- First, you need to download the configuration settings from the links above, which save the recommended settings.
- After downloading, unzip it.
- Create a new folder named GCam in the root folder and then open the GCam folder and create a Configs folder.
- Then copy the configuration file to /Internal Storage/GCam/Configs8/ (folder).
- Open Google Camera and double-tap the black empty area next to the shutter button.
- Click on the shown settings available in the pop-up window and click on the restore button.
- Go back to the app drawer and open the app again.
Although there is no need to configure many settings for MGC_8.3.252_V0e_MGC.apk, you can still play with the GCam settings according to your needs to achieve better results.
Once everything is done. Start taking great photos right from your Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro.

Battery Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro
The feature that most users are most interested in when choosing a new smartphone is battery life. Let me remind you that the Mi 10T Pro is equipped with a high refresh rate screen, and this feature consumes a lot of energy. Tests were carried out with the 144 Hz option enabled - disabling it should have a positive effect on energy use.
The battery in question has a capacity of 5000 mAh and allows the device to work from one and a half (in most cases) to two days in normal mode. This period largely depends on our habits related to the type of phone use. Battery performance is well optimized and I felt confident using my smartphone without worrying about the device turning off while I was using it.
In the box we get a 33W power adapter and a USB-C to USB-A cable. The smartphone supports Power Delivery 3.0 technology - using the included kit we will fully charge the battery in about an hour. After 15 minutes in the outlet, the battery will be replenished by 35%, 30 minutes guarantees 65%, and after 45 minutes the capacity will exceed 90%, which is not bad!
What is missing? Inductive charging! Unfortunately, in my opinion, this is a big disadvantage - the technology is becoming commonplace, and it is a pity that those who decide to buy the Mi 10T Pro will be completely deprived of it.
