MIUI 11 was announced along with Redmi Note 8 back in October. The company even won two Red Dot Design awards for the visual design and sound design of the new firmware. This is the first design award in the smartphone software industry.
MIUI 11 release date is September 27
Xiaomi says the developers have put a lot of effort into making MIUI 11 even more minimalistic, eliminating many bulky elements from previous firmware versions. The interface has new, more organic colors, smooth lines and a lot of space.
New system sounds
Much attention was paid to sounds in MIUI 11. Starting with the previous version of the system, developers began to introduce nature sounds everywhere. The sounds of water drops that never repeat were used as notifications. Now the chirping of birds has been added to them. Here's how to activate it:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Sounds & Vibration
- Click "Notifications"
- At the very top you will see “Bird Sounds”
In addition to the new notification sound, natural alarm sounds have been added to MIUI 11, including: sun, moon, fire, water, forest, metal, earth. This is what “forest” sounds like, for example.
As mentioned above, Xiaomi received the Red Dot Design Awards 2022 for the sound effects in MIUI 11.
