This will be the case this year, for example, when the first Unpacked event of 2022 takes place on February 9. The lull is due to two main reasons. Firstly, China will traditionally celebrate the Chinese New Year holidays and they will last two weeks. The second reason is MWC, which takes place in the second half of February and for which all electronics manufacturers are preparing to present their new products there. This will happen this year too, because at the exhibition they can show us very cool Honor phones, which the company teased almost a month before the event.

When does MWC 2022 start?
The annual MWC exhibition starts on February 28 and will last until March 3 . It is here that a scattering of new products from a variety of manufacturers awaits us. There will be many companies that have something to show, and we will talk about some of them separately, but Honor will be among them. On the first day of the exhibition she will hold her event called “The Power of Magic”. This already lifts the veil of secrecy and suggests that they will show us a new smartphone from the Magic line.
Honor 2022: results of the year
2021 is coming to a logical conclusion, so all we can do is remember all the good things that happened, highlight key events and generally take stock.
The most significant event in Honor's recent history occurred back at the end of 2022, when Honor ceased to be a brand owned by Huawei, but became a separate independent company. However, resuming cooperation with former partners is a slow process, so we received visible results only in the second half of 2022. We are, of course, talking about the return of all Google applications and services to Honor smartphones. No matter how good the previous models were, it was still difficult to live without payment services, the world’s most popular email service and familiar cards.
At the very beginning of 2022, Honor introduced a new brand development strategy and has strictly adhered to it since then. Let us remind you that it is based on three key principles: “For all scenarios”, “For all channels” and “For all people” and adheres to the previously presented strategy “1+8+N”. The smartphone belongs to category “1”; category “8” includes a basic range of devices: laptops, smart watches, tablets, wireless headphones, etc. Well, under “N” are hidden devices from third-party manufacturers, which are combined into the Honor Choice platform (including smart home accessories, household appliances, audiovisual entertainment and much more).
Then at the beginning of the year, Honor confirmed its partnership with AMD, Intel, MediaTek, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Sony and others. The most noticeable thing for the average user should have been the resumption of cooperation with Google, so the main novelty of the year can be considered the Honor 50 smartphone. This is not a flagship model in the usual sense, it uses a sub-flagship level platform - Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G - and yet, it is the most sophisticated Honor smartphone with Google services at the moment. A little later, it was joined by Honor 50 Lite with more modest technical characteristics and a price reduced by almost one and a half times.
The real flagships of Honor will be the Magic3, Magic3 Pro and Magic3 Pro+ smartphones, built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 platform and the Sony IMX771 module as the main camera. However, they have not yet reached Russia, but as soon as they do, we will definitely tell you about them.
It is impossible not to note the new 2022 laptops. First of all, this is the Honor MagicBook View 14, available with Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Then comes the updated MagicBook line, which includes 14- and 15-inch models, both based on Intel and AMD processors. The latest new products immediately run Windows 11, and earlier devices will offer a free upgrade from the previous version of the operating system. And by the way, with the latest updates, Honor’s share in the Russian laptop market exceeded 7%.
By the way, this year Honor laptops and smartphones took on another very important mission - they help search for missing people in Russia. The company entered into a cooperation agreement with the volunteer search and rescue team “LizaAlert”. After all, for effective work, headquarters need not only volunteers, but also significant technical resources. In particular, modern smartphones and laptops, quite compact and lightweight, productive, but with a large margin of autonomy. In October 2022, Honor and LisaAlert conducted joint training for volunteers on safety in difficult situations, and several more similar events are planned in the future, including with the involvement of experts and opinion leaders.
Another interesting initiative is the launch of a unique service “Repair before your eyes,” which allows users to follow the process of repairing a smartphone or laptop via video broadcast. As planned, this should not only reduce the owner’s level of anxiety about his equipment, but also satisfy the curiosity of those who are interested in how smartphones and laptops work. At the time of launch, the service was available only for a certain number of devices - Honor 50 and Honor 50 Lite smartphones, as well as Magicbook 14, Magicbook 15, Magicbook Pro, MagicBook X 14, MagicBook X 15 and MagicBook View 14 laptops.
An equally unique event was the launch of a chatbot for the psychological preparation of runners for marathons.
