The solution here is unusual - a rectangular display with slightly curved glass. In this review, I will try to figure out for you what this device is - a smart watch or a fitness bracelet? The design and appearance of
the Watch Fit does not claim to be the most stylish gadget, but at the same time it looks quite neat and minimalistic. The watch is vaguely reminiscent of the Apple Watch, but with a more elongated screen.

Although the screen edging looks metal, it is actually made of a polymer alloy. This is also evidenced by the weight - only 21 grams (without strap). The silicone strap is elastic and, most importantly, quite pleasant and soft to the touch. The strap can be fixed on both a large male hand and a female one.

The included strap is removable (can be replaced). However, this is not very convenient to do. First you need to pull out the small plastic holders on the bottom side.

On the side, on the right, there is a single mechanical button. You can use it to go to the home screen, open a menu, or illuminate the display. When pressed for a long time, the menu to turn off / restart the watch appears. Just above the button there is a hole for the microphone. It is useless, because it only works to call the voice assistant, which is only available in China.

The inside of the Huawei Watch Fit is a black plastic surface with two sensors and magnetic contacts for charging.

When you first start the watch, you are prompted to select the menu language and install the proprietary “Huawei Health” application.

This application can be downloaded from the Play Store or from the link in the barcode on the device box.

Display and dials
The rectangular screen has a diagonal of 1.64 inches, it occupies 70 percent of the front surface of the case. The resolution is 280×456 pixels. The display is made using AMOLED technology - this gives the deepest blacks, brightest and deepest shades, as well as a good reserve of brightness (5 brightness levels and auto-brightness are available). Thanks to this, the information is easy to read under any conditions. The watch's sensor is quite responsive; there were no problems with controls. It is also possible to enable the Always On Display function. It allows you to make sure that the screen saver with a dial is constantly lit (you can choose one of the six available).

The watch comes pre-installed with 12 different watch faces. Most of them are made in a bright, colorful style, but there are also more classic options. Some change shades when you click on them.

You can download additional watch faces through the app.

You can also install any picture or your own photo on the main screen. Or, for example, a photo of your favorite dog!

Huawei Watch Fit platform and software
Huawei does not specify which chip is used in the Watch Fit; there is information on the network that it is a certain DK3.5+ST processor. There are Bluetooth 5.0 LE and GPS modules, 4 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, there is no speaker, so you won't be able to answer calls. The watch runs LiteOS, which is well known from other Huawei smartwatches (Watch GT 2e, Watch GT 2). The logic of using Watch Fit is quite simple: you have access to the main watch face (some can be customized), swiping left and right displays widgets with various information (the sequence and number of additional screens can be changed in the settings), swiping up opens notifications (can be read, but cannot be answered) , swiping up brings up the quick settings curtain. By pressing the button, the main menu opens, where several applications and settings are available. Third-party programs cannot be installed. The device works with smartphones on iOS and Android, provides support for notifications, a music player (only manages smartphone music), weather forecasts and alarm clocks. Notifications most often have to be expanded to be read if they consist of more than a couple of words. You cannot respond to notifications.

There is no own music player, so you will have to use your smartphone to play your favorite songs. However, you can control playback using the bracelet and it works stably and is available even during training.

Fitness functions
Like any other wearable fitness gadgets, Huawei Watch Fit can measure all the necessary information. The watch constantly keeps track of steps taken, calories burned and distance traveled per day. The gadget is capable of constantly monitoring heart rate (TruSeen 4.0), measuring stress levels (TruRelax) and sleep quality (TruSleep 2.0), and also checking the level of oxygen in the blood (SpO2).

In the Huawei Health app you can see detailed statistics of your indicators. The quality of your sleep is pretty good - you can see how long the various phases lasted, an overall assessment, as well as some tips.

The main feature is quick workouts with animated demonstrations of exercises. After turning it on, a GIF appears on the screen with a person showing the correct technique. All training courses are designed for different muscle groups, and also vary in difficulty level and execution time. For example, the most advanced course for pumping up the upper shoulder girdle consists of 13 exercises: it starts with a dynamic plank and ends with push-ups. There are simpler options for those who just want to stretch their legs after sitting in a chair for a long time. This workout, called “Energy,” encourages you to master simple exercises like stretching and bending forward.

In addition, Huawei Watch Fit supports 11 preset and 85 additional workout modes.
This list includes a variety of activities, including running, football, powerlifting, table tennis, pool swimming, elliptical, cycling and dozens of others. Each lesson can be customized to suit you: choose the optimal goal and time for the exercise. At the end of the workout, all the results can be viewed on the watch (the “Records” item) or on the smartphone, in the proprietary “Huawei Health” application, which we will talk about in more detail below. Interestingly, there is a built-in GPS sensor for running training - if you turn it on, all your movements will be automatically marked on the map. So you can see the entire path taken. The watch is charged using a USB cable, which is equipped with a special magnetic holder. The battery capacity is 180 mAh.
It took me about 40 minutes to charge 100%. One of the significant advantages of this device is its autonomy. According to Huawei, they can work for up to 10 days. This is true. If I do not use GPS and the Always On Display function, the Huawei Watch Fit confidently lasted me 11 days. With constant heart rate monitoring and the Always-on Display mode active, the watch consumes approximately 20% of the charge per day, so it will last about 5 days. Huawei claims that with constantly active GPS, the device will work for 12 hours. Conclusion

Design and appearance

When I took the Watch Fit Elegant out of the box, I immediately understood why it was given such a name. This version of the watch is equipped with a shiny metal case, which makes the device not only more solid, but also more elegant. Therefore, it is slightly heavier than the original, which had plastic.

The thickness of the metal case is 10.7 mm, which is quite standard. Width and height, in turn, are 30 and 46 mm. Although I have a rather small wrist, the gadget fit almost perfectly. The only drawback of the polished case is that fingerprints are visible on it.

Interestingly, the strap is also made of a different material than the classic Huawei Watch Fit. The original version had a silicone strap, while the Huawei Watch Fit Elegant has a fluoroelastomer strap, which is much more pleasant to the touch. This strap is also quite long, so the watch can be worn on larger wrists.

Here I have only one objection, like the straps in other Huawei devices - it only has one loop for fixing, which is not enough. As a result, when you put the watch on a small wrist, the end of the strap simply sticks out.

You can buy the device in two color options. With a silver case and black strap, and a gold case with an off-white strap. I had the opportunity to wear the latest model for more than a week. There is something about this style that can suit almost every woman's tastes.

What should I do if there are no watch faces in the Huawei Health app?

If the app does not display watch faces, set your region to France. To do this, you need to get a SIM card, turn off the Internet and mobile network. Restart the gadget and immediately change the region. Turn on the Internet, return the SIM card back.

The screen design can be changed according to your mood, focusing on the event being placed or the image created. Some users match the image on the screen to the color of the strap, thus wanting to stand out among the crowd. Show that they have access to something that is not offered in standard settings.
