How to delete Google account from Samsung phone

There are two ways to get rid of a Google company profile on a Samsung mobile device:

  1. Unlink a profile from a specific Samsung smartphone.
  2. Completely delete the account on all user devices.

The first option will exclude the mobile phone from the list of gadgets for a specific Google account. In this case, all personal information of the user, as well as login data for other resources, will be saved.

The second way is to completely delete everything associated with your Google account. The user’s personal data, the ability to log into online resources controlled by Google, and settings in applications and programs will be erased.

Due to the significant difference in subsequent processes, the instructions for both options for deleting a Google account will be radically different. Therefore, it is worth considering in detail the two presented methods separately.

The procedure for deleting Google data is identical for all phone models with the Android operating system. Therefore, the instructions below are suitable not only for Samsung smartphones, but also for mobile gadgets from other manufacturers.

  3. In the window that opens, find the “Google” tab.
  4. Open the account the user is interested in.
  5. Find the window responsible for synchronization.
  6. Click on the “Delete” tab.
  7. Confirm this action.

If all steps of the instructions were correct, the mobile device will disconnect the selected Google account. In this case, the portable gadget will either go into offline mode or switch to another user’s personal account.

The owner of the smartphone can go back to his personal Google account at any time convenient for him. This can also be done through the settings of the Android operating system. Moreover, the device immediately synchronizes all missing data or settings from other user devices.

If this Google profile was the only one linked to a Samsung smartphone, then along with the deletion, some applications associated with the record will cease to function: marketplace, contactless payment program, cards, and others.

Detailed video instructions on how to completely delete your Google account

What is it for?

A Samsung account is a pretty useful thing for those who live in the ecosystem of the South Korean company. The account allows you to synchronize access to a large number of Samsung services. These include Samsung Cloud cloud storage and the Find My Phone option.

Despite the apparent benefits of the Samsung profile, it duplicates similar Google services. At the same time, a Samsung account is optional, but each user must create a Google account, otherwise the owner of the smartphone will lose the ability to download applications through the Play Store. Taking into account the highlighted features of the two UZs, it becomes clear that you can refuse a Samsung account without any serious consequences for the phone.

What happens when you delete your Google account from your phone?

First, let's look at useful Google functions:

  • synchronizing device settings with other portable gadgets and a personal computer;
  • transferring the browsing history of the Google Chrome Internet browser to the profile of another device;
  • general cloud for storing data: photos, videos, documents.

However, despite all the listed functions, sometimes it becomes necessary to delete your own profile. Basically, this need arises among users who change their smartphone on the Android operating system to an iPhone. But this process also has its consequences.

Before you start deleting, you should know that a Google profile contains many smaller personal accounts of sites controlled by the company. Thus, the user will lose not only his personal account from his mobile device, but also, for example, his profile on the YouTube video hosting site.

Uninstalling Google will also erase the Gmail email account associated with the user's account. Along with the mail, the entire history of messages, both outgoing and incoming letters, will be deleted.

Consequences

As mentioned earlier, working with a Google account involves interacting with various external services that store data and internal content. Once a profile is deleted, the following happens:

  • clearing all recording-related data, such as contacts, emails, files, calendars and photos;
  • lack of access to Google services (for example, Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar or Google Play);
  • loss of purchased goods (books, magazines, films, music) and subscriptions.

The Google Community strongly recommends that you save all relevant content before deleting your profile.

What to do if the account is not deleted?

If something went wrong and it was not possible to delete the only linked Google account on Samsung (for example, when initializing the uninstallation, an unknown error was displayed on the display, or the device began to malfunction, and the deletion operation was not completed), then the easiest way to get rid of this The problem is linking a new account and deleting the old account.

Note! The algorithm of actions on different Samsung devices may differ. However, the principle of deleting a Samsung account for J3 and other gadgets is the same.

To carry out this manipulation you need to follow the instructions:

  1. Open the Gmail program by clicking on the corresponding icon in the main menu of the device.
  2. Click the key located in the upper left corner of the display to open a hidden list of options. Click on the interactive function “Add…” located at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select Google: the display will show a message (“Add an existing one... or create a new one?”). If the user has an alternative account, then click on the “Existing” interactive button; if not, click on “New”.
  4. Return to your mailbox settings and set the new user as the primary user.
  5. At the bottom of the smartphone, select the “Account Management” section by clicking on the gear icon and initiate deletion of the unnecessary Samsung J1 account. After this, you don’t have to worry that the old account data will remain on the device.

On a different firmware, the section and the button may look and have a different name. On Explay Atom, go to “Settings”, then go down and select “Backup and reset”. In the new window, select “Reset settings”. On Lenovo, resetting to factory settings works the same way. On Samsung, this setting is located in the “General” section. Then select “Backup and reset”. In other words, you need to get to the window where there is a "Reset to Factory Settings" function, or something similar. Most likely, it is in the settings (gear).

When you click on this button, Android will give you a warning: “All data from memory will be deleted.” This means not only a Google account, but also a Yandex account, if you have one. Also, all numbers and so on will be deleted. Keep this in mind!

It happens that the gadget has password protection. If you cannot remember this password, we can reset it in other ways:

  1. For example, using the Recovery function. How to enter this function can be found in the gadget’s instructions.
  2. You can press and hold the Reset button, which is usually located on the right side of the device. But it can also be under the cover.

Also, to delete your account, you can simply reflash your smartphone. It's the same as changing the Windows computer. Of course, in this case, all information from the phone will also be deleted.
