In anticipation of this event, let's try to summarize all the information known about Xiaomi Mi 7 and its “high” version Mi 7 Plus.

Naturally, long before the presentation of the top device of the Chinese manufacturer, detailed characteristics are not known, and even if there is specific information, it is far from a fact that it is true. However, some parameters cannot be called into question even now, because we all understand perfectly well what kind of processor the Xiaomi Mi 7 will receive. We are talking about the chipset of the next flagship generation Snapdragon 845, which will replace the current top Snapdragon 835. What will please the 845th dragon and will it be able to can it compete with the brand new Apple A11 Bionic ? Again, information about the specifications of the new chip from Qualcomm is purely preliminary and it is quite possible that in reality something will turn out to be completely different. The Snapdragon 835 will use custom solutions based on high-performance Cortex-A75 and energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores. There will be eight of them in total, 4 cores for each block. There is also evidence that the chip will be made using a 7 nm process technology, although some sources claim that the 845th Dragon will remain within 10 nm. The video accelerator will be the Adreno 630 adapter with a frequency of up to 800 MHz. As for memory, no changes are expected - the same 4x16 bit LPDDR4X standard for RAM and UFS 2.1 standard for ROM. But the modem will speed up, and quite well - Qualcomm X20 will support 4G LTE Category 18 networks, which will provide data transfer (download) at speeds of up to 1.2 Gbit/s. In addition, ISP cores for image processing and other technologies will be improved. There is no data on testing the processor from Qualcomm yet, but we are sure that in Antutu the chip will show a result in the region of 210,000 - 220,000 points. That is, it will be on par with the most powerful solution currently, Apple A11 Bionic.
In terms of memory, the changes will be quite typical - there will be more of it. Xiaomi Mi7 should receive from 6 to 8 GB of RAM and from 64 to 256 GB of storage. The device will receive support for memory cards.

Yes, for Xiaomi, framelessness is far from an innovation, and this is confirmed by the two smartphones Xiaomi Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2. However, the Xiaomi Mi 7 device will not be the same as the mixes, but will become a kind of parody of the iPhone X, that is, it will have a display in the entire front panel . Because of this, the smartphone will lose the Home button with a built-in fingerprint scanner, but as Apple’s practice shows, this is not a problem at all. At the same time, there is a high chance that the scanner will move to the back cover, because Xiaomi is not ashamed to do this even in top smartphones. The case, as usual, will be glass in the basic version and ceramic in the advanced version. Metal will not replace glass just because Apple has finally introduced wireless charging into its smartphones. It has long been a tradition for Xiaomi to make its flagships out of glass, but we mentioned Apple for a reason - Xiaomi Mi 7 will also receive wireless charging.

The Cupertino company drew particular attention to the fact that the possibility of an error when scanning a face is 1:1,000,000, while Touch ID makes an error approximately 1 time in 50,000 cases. Now, 3D facial scanning will support most of the top devices of 2022, among which is the Xiaomi Mi 7. It is worth noting that Xiaomi takes the issue of introducing new technologies quite seriously, which means we should expect a fully functional facial recognition function in the Xiaomi Mi7.

The announcement of Mi 7 was postponed to April and the expected presentation date is currently April 15, 2018.
