Smartwatches, also known as smartwatches , are devices that have gained widespread acceptance among all types of audiences. Many of them work independently, without the need for mobile phones, tablets or PCs (computers with an operating system).

One of the important smartwatches in this field is the Huawei Watch GT 2, a high-volume watch that can live without the need for smartphones. Thanks to its capacity, it can use applications , many of which are known from the terminals of the Asian brand.

Apps for Huawei Watch GT 2 are taken from the Android store. , for this reason you will become familiar with them quite quickly when installing them. The Watch GT 2, with all these apps, will be much more versatile, giving users a wide range of options thanks to the software.

Conditions for proper operation

When choosing, you need to pay attention to the system requirements of the devices, their compatibility, and versions of Bluetooth channels. Successful pairing of devices also depends on timely software updates. Smart watches must be compatible with your phone. Most models of wrist gadgets are synchronized with any Android 4.2, iOS 8 and later phones.

Before connecting the watch to the phone, you need to perform operations common to all devices:

  • turn on both devices;
  • check that the batteries are fully charged;
  • if the level is low, recharge;
  • if the devices have recently been connected to other gadgets, cancel all previous connections;
  • activate the Bluetooth option on both devices.

Connection methods

To properly connect a smartwatch to an Android or iOS phone, you need to consider not only the operating system in both devices, but also the pairing method.

All watches connect via Bluetooth (except for children's ones), and there are two pairing options:

  1. Via a mobile application.
  2. Through the Bluetooth settings on your phone.

In most cases, to link a smart watch to an Android phone, you just need to install the Wear OS application. But there are models where the manufacturer indicates its software in the instructions, as well as instructions for pairing and further work in tandem with a mobile device.

If you need to connect your watch to your phone via Bluetooth, you will not need to install any additional software. Below we will describe in detail how to do this.

Using examples of different operating systems of your gadgets, we will give instructions on how to link a wearable device to a smartphone.

Compatibility issue

The first nuance that needs to be dealt with concerns compatibility - is it possible to connect a Samsung watch to an iPhone or Android. For convenience, we highlight the main models of smart devices and smartphones that support them:

  1. Galaxy Fit. On the Android side - M10, M2, A-series 2022, J (4, 6, 8), S10, S9 and S8 series, J 5 and 7 2022, A3, A5 and A7 2017 and 2016, S6 series and Note (4, 5, Edge). As for iPhone, only iPhone 7.7 Plus is supported here.
  2. Galaxy Fit e. Android - everything. iPhone is everything.
  3. Galaxy Watch, Gear S2 and S3, Gear Fit 2 and Fit 2 Pro, Gear Sport - full support.
  4. Gear S - not supported by Galaxy J5 and J7 2022, A3 2016, and all iPhones.

In order not to waste time with installation, it is better to immediately clarify which smart watch is suitable for your phone.

Navigator for Huawei Band 2, 3 and 4

If you want to find a specific point, it is best to have an accurate browser. The navigator for Huawei is one of the most accurate, as it is based on Google Maps. And it is ideal to have it, like other applications in Huawei Watch GT 2, which also work on the Watch GT, Band 3, Band 4 and Band 4 Pro models.

Allows you to easily calculate your route , shows notifications and other details that you will see on the screen of your smartwatch. Its light weight makes it easy to install in various devices. It was specially updated on December 24th this year with new fixes.

What is Huawei Health

Huawei's Health application is designed to track various indicators provided by wearable devices - electronic fitness bracelets, smart watches, and others. You can enter information from smart scales into the program and track changes in weight and body fat percentage.

Main functions

All applications related to health monitoring and sports have approximately the same functionality. Huawei Health works on all Android devices, including all smartphones and tablets from Honor and Huawei, as well as on gadgets running iOS and iPadOS on iPhone and iPad, respectively. All reports on the operation of wearable devices are transmitted to the smartphone in real time.

The Health program has the following functions:

  • Keeping a training diary, taking into account their type and time spent;
  • Control of getting up in the morning and overall sleep quality (sleep and its phases are tracked using a fitness bracelet or Huawei Health on the watch);
  • Monitor distance traveled, total number of steps to complete daily goal, display pedometer on lock screen;
  • Obtaining and systematizing data on heartbeat during training;
  • Monitoring calories burned during daytime activity, including calorie deductions during walking and exercise;
  • Adding and monitoring the execution of training and health goals;
  • Systematization of weight data and automatic data updating if the scales are “smart”;
  • Several types of cardio training that allow you to take into account the characteristics of cross-country running and in the gym;
  • Monitoring achievements when using the program.
  • Other functions depending on the devices used with the application.

Analogs

There are a large number of applications on Google Play that are similar in functionality. They differ in the team of developers who created the program and in certain individual features that are present in some applications and not in others.

Select apps, such as Nike Training Club, provide workout plans to help you develop and improve your fitness. Such programs do not have sleep monitoring or any additional features, but there are a large number of sports programs that are selected individually based on gender, age, weight or general activity.

Mi Fit

An analogue of “Health” from Huawei is Mi Fit, an application for tracking activity and sleep indicators from Xiaomi. The user can set desired goals to achieve a certain weight, as well as set the number of steps he must take per day.

The program allows you to track your weight and synchronizes well with fitness bracelets from Xiaomi and generally any other companies, and all Mi bracelets can be paired with various third-party applications and use them as the main one. While Honor Band only works with the original program from Huawei. More details about the functionality of Mi Fit can be found on Google Play.

Google Fit

The program was developed by Google with the help of WHO (World Health Organization) and AHA (American Heart Association) to keep a training diary, track health indicators and monitor compliance with the body's activity over a long time. The user can receive reports on the work done during the day, general indicators for the week, month and year.

With Google fit you can:

  1. Monitor the progress of training, take into account the specifics of its implementation and monitor the pulse during sports.
  2. Set health-related goals - gaining muscle mass, losing weight, or doing workouts to generally strengthen the body.
  3. Monitor any activity, not just workouts. For example, walking to work, or an evening walk, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
  4. Receive advice on playing sports, depending on the general condition of the body - underweight or overweight, high or low activity during the week, or taking into account the age characteristics of the body.

The Google Fit app works with multiple apps, allowing the user to sync data across devices, get that data in real time, and track progress.

Any programs and utilities for monitoring sports activities and health status work approximately the same. The interface, icon placement, and some functions are different, but overall the applications are the same.

Main conclusions

Honor Band 3 is a gadget that allows you to monitor the body’s basic indicators, its pulse, sleep and calories burned, and display statistics on the smartphone screen. The device also has other functions inherent in similar smart watches. It is used by athletes and people who prefer an active lifestyle.

This is a fairly budget version of a fitness bracelet, which is produced by a proven and well-known company, a competitor of Xiaomi and other Chinese companies, but with wide capabilities. It can display notifications on your smartphone screen, act as a smart alarm clock, and perform many functions useful to most.

Connecting a Huawei bracelet with a phone

Undoubtedly, every user of a Huawei sports bracelet wants to use all the functions to the maximum. To do this, you should synchronize your fitness tracker with your smartphone to gain access to all the functions of the device.

To connect the bracelet to your phone, you first need to install the Huawei Wear application specialized for this purpose. To do this, it is best to use the Google Play service.

After the application is installed on your phone, you need to turn on Bluetooth and launch Huawei Wear. For these purposes, you can also open the Health application if you have a smartphone of the same model (Huawei or Honor). By the way, here you do not need to log into your personal account.

Huawei Wear app

If the owner of the smartphone is not from Huawei/Honor or does not want to use the standard Health application, then after the Huawei Wear program, you need to launch it.

After the application opens, the user will have to agree to the terms of use of Huawei Wear, as well as register their account. The screen displays instructions on what needs to be indicated to the owner of the bracelet. Everything is intuitive and logical. The user only needs to indicate their gender, date of birth, weight at the time of device registration, height, and the desired number of steps per day. You also need to come up with a nickname for yourself and, if desired, put an avatar.

Thanks to simple instructions, you can easily synchronize the fitness bracelet with your phone. The general steps for connecting the tracker and smartphone are as follows:

  • download the Huawei Wear app;
  • turn on the sports bracelet and Bluetooth on your phone;
  • open the Huawei Wear application;
  • in the list, click on “smart bracelet”;
  • confirm pairing with the device by pressing a key on the fitness tracker;
  • register in the Huawei Wear application;
  • If necessary, wait for the firmware update.

Setting up Honor Band 5

Trying to keep up with competitors such as Samsung Gear, Galaxy Fit, Redmi Watch and Xiaomi Mi Band, the Honor manufacturer is constantly improving its models. Version 5 already has many more settings than version 4. Let's look in detail at how to connect Honor 5 to your phone and how to configure it. Some basic settings can be configured directly on the smart bracelet, but extensive settings are made through the application on the smartphone.

Interesting on the topic: Honor Band 5 - instructions in Russian

Installing and setting up Huawei Health

For all smartphones that were sold with EMUI 8.0 and higher, downloading and installing it from Google Play or 4PDA, or from any other source is not required. Users only need to update the program to the latest version and use it for its intended purpose. The instructions for use are quite simple, since all the functionality is intuitive. You will learn further about how to use the application and how to make settings.

Health app

Thanks to the installed Huawei Wear application, you can quickly connect the sports bracelet with your smartphone. But in addition to this program, there is also a standard Health application, which can be found on any modern Huawei or Honor smartphone.

With this application you can monitor your lifestyle and activity on a daily basis.

You can connect a sports bracelet to your smartphone via the Health application as follows:

  • go to the Health application;
  • Scroll down and in the “Devices” section select “Smart Bracelet”;
  • then in the menu that appears, select the model of the Huawei sports bracelet;
  • After the model is selected, you should click the “Pair” button.

In this case, the sports bracelet must be turned on. You should also turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone for pairing.

Download from Google Play or App Store

The first step is to download the application from Google Play, AppGallery or App Store depending on your device. AppGallery is the official application store from Huawei, which was created in response to sanctions from the US government. Smartphone owners do not have to worry; the sanctions do not affect them in any way. Minor difficulties may arise with the new Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, but now you can install all Google services on them or wait until the applications appear in the AppGallery.

To install “Health” you will need:

  1. Launch the application store on the device.
  2. In the search bar, enter the name of the application “Huawei Health” or “Huawei Health”.
  3. Open the program tab.
  4. Click on the “Install” button.
  5. Wait for installation and configure the application as you wish.

Screenshots were taken on the Huawei P20 Pro smartphone in the AppGallery application store. The installation instructions in this store are no different from the procedure in any other store. Since this smartphone had EMUI version higher than 8.0 when purchased, the program is pre-installed, so instead of the “Install” button there is an “Open” button.

Application overview

Honor Band 3 pro makes it possible to accumulate basic indicators of the human body.

  • pulse;
  • dream;
  • kilocalorie consumption.

For many users leading an active lifestyle, such a device is necessary and useful. The sports bracelet easily connects to a smartphone, then it can be configured using a separate Huawei Wear instruction application.

There is also a standard application for Honor/Huawei smartphones, it is already installed on these models.

If the smart device is not made by the Chinese manufacturer Huawei, then downloading the Huawei Health application from the network is quite acceptable; for this you will need to use: Google Play. The latest version of the Health application has rich functionality, accumulating functions from various software. You can also open an account in the cloud by entering your account information. Huawei is the leader in the market for such gadgets. The Honor Band 3 sports bracelet looks stylish and aesthetically attractive. This is one of the successful developments that has a wide variety of different data and functions.

Huawei Wear has:

  • tracker setup;
  • the software contains all the necessary digital information.

The latest program is reflected in its entirety in the Health application. Huawei TrueSleep is an application that monitors sleep, which may be important for many users, and works like an accurate clock. All data is accumulated during operation in a separate file, where you can analyze the general state down to the second:

  1. When the user falls asleep.
  2. How many hours did he sleep?

and so on.

There is a signal that appears if the user has been in a stationary position at the desk for too long. In this case, the bracelet vibrates, and a picture diagram appears on it, in which a person is engaged in physical exercises. There is also a function that measures the frequency of contraction of the heart muscle. Huawei Wear is responsible for the correct functioning of the application, it allows you to quickly find the necessary software, and also deactivates it. Main functionality:

  1. Enable sleep monitoring.
  2. Setting up notifications to reduce active actions, which allows you to save energy.
  3. Alarm. Can be intellectual or ordinary. The first one can recognize and take into account the user's sleep mode.
  4. Setting to turn off any notifications.
  5. Setting up the desired messages.
  6. Setting up displays.
  7. Setting up and turning on the device when you raise your hand.

Huawei Health collects the necessary statistics, including data that can be configured:

  1. Sleep and heart rate.
  2. Movement speed.

Information is differentiated chronologically. One of the important functions is checking and monitoring sleep periods. Setting this option helps business people to organize productive work. A software similar to “Health” is the VeryFitPro utility, but its functionality is not as advanced. The Wearfit program can also be useful; setting it up is easy:

  1. The device is activated.
  2. The required software is downloaded and activated.
  3. Setting up is in progress.

Huawei Health monitors the basic parameters of the human body

Can it connect to other phones?

By following the instructions, you can connect the smart bracelet to any phone. But to work with such smartphones, you will also need to download and install the Huawei Wear utility. You can find it in the Google Play market.

After installing Huawei Wear, you need to open the program and follow further instructions: confirm the user agreement, register and provide your own data, including weight and height. Then you need to connect the wireless connection and find Honor Band 4 in the list that opens. To complete pairing, press the corresponding button on the bracelet.

Xiaomi watch for any phone

You can connect your Xiaomi Amazfit watch to your phone using the Mi Fit mobile application:

  1. Download Huami's Mi Fit app on Android or iOS.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone.
  3. Charge and turn on the Amazfit sports watch and bring it closer to your mobile device.
  4. Launch Mi Fit.
  5. Select a login method (if you have an account) or create an account using the prompts in the application.
  6. Select a device from the list.
  7. Log in to your account and click on the “Click to connect” or “Add device” button in the Profile menu tab.
  8. Confirm pairing on your watch.
  9. If necessary, wait for the watch firmware to be updated.

Review of the Huawei Honor Band 3 (smartband) smart bracelet - a worthy analogue of the Xiaomi Mi Band?

Today I will share my impressions of using a smart bracelet with a considerable number of functions from Huawei. We all know very well that if you want a smart bracelet, try the Xiaomi Mi Band: it will fully let you know “what it is and what you eat it with” for an inexpensive price. But at the moment there are already so many analogues that Xiaomi is being lost. Although these analogues are mostly “basement” production with only one purpose - to be bought. The continued existence of such a device is unlikely. But enough thoughts - the Huawei brand, unlike the no-names, is familiar, so you can justifiably expect high-quality quality from their bracelet.

Bracelet characteristics.

— Brand: Huawei — Bluetooth version: 4.2 — Compatibility: Android 4.4+ / iOS 8.0+ — Water resistance: yes (5ATM) — Screen: OLED — Diagonal: 0.91″ — Vibration: yes — Battery: 100mAh — Operating time: up to 30 days / 10 days under load - Strap size: 21x1.5cm - Bracelet weight: 18 grams

Box and complete set.

The bracelet box is a transparent blister, decorated in a bright turquoise color. It looks beautiful and does not leave a feeling of something cheap, as sometimes happens with packaging of this type. On the back side, in Chinese, the capabilities/features of the bracelet are described, of which those who do not know Chinese can (sometimes) only understand where there are at least some numbers. At the bottom of the box there is more detailed information about a specific instance. Overall, the box is really nice. However, when you first print it, the bracelet will most likely fall out. :)

The entire kit is located in the lower section: inside of which there are instructions completely in Chinese (without an English version), a sticker with IMEIs, a docking station, and a USB cable.
***

The package hardly deserves much attention. MicroUSB wire, for example, even without any identification marks confirming that it belongs to Huawei.

Unlike the mini docking station, which has a small sticker with useful information on its body. In Chinese.

By the way, she really is as small as she looks in the photographs. Therefore, it will not be difficult to lose the docking station even in a special box with wires/chargers. Not to mention some table where she could easily fly anywhere :)

Its use, together with information about the operating time of the bracelet, will be a little further.

Photos: appearance.

Although the Huawei Honor Band 3 has a design very similar to the Xiaomi Mi Band, it is quite difficult to confuse them. In the black version of the strap, like mine, the bracelet looks very minimalistic.

Moreover, the design is also different: if the first/second version of the Mi Band has a design with a removable capsule, then Huawei is a “solid device”. That is, you cannot remove the strap while walking.

The strap is made of polyurethane rubber.

The material of the strap is very pleasant to the touch - it is soft and easily takes the desired shape. In the cold, which is very important, the strap does not become dull.

The total length of the entire strap is 215mm, width - 15mm. It can't be called big, especially compared to watch straps/etc., but for a fitness bracelet it's not surprising. There are enough divisions for any hand.

The bracelet is fastened into two divisions at once, as you may have already noticed. The system is completely similar to the Mi Band. When fastened and tightened (although it is not recommended to wear it this way), there are no highly visible marks from the fasteners on the hand.

The outer part of the clasp looks reliable and has the inscription “Honor”.

The connection with the capsule is beyond doubt - there are no gaps at all.

It is connected using bolts located on the inside of the bracelet.

There you can also see: charging contacts, a heart rate monitor and a special recess for installing a docking station.

Again, there are no strongly protruding parts here. Although the bracelet is ~16mm thick. The docking station is installed until it clicks, and when installed it holds tightly.

The bracelet capsule is made of high-quality plastic, including its front panel.

I have already tested the water resistance - I did not take off the bracelet in the bathroom.
Actually, without any footnotes, it is declared as waterproof, so the bracelet does not need to be removed at all. In general, there is nothing to complain about here. The bracelet looks and feels like a quality product. And in fact, such a design is definitely more reliable than the version with a removable capsule: at a minimum, the level of water resistance increases. In this case, of course, one of the advantages of possible replacement of the strap with a steel bracelet or something else more original than the standard version is lost.

Photo on hand, convenience and display.

But even in its original form, the bracelet with a black strap looks attractive. Mainly due, of course, to smooth and imperceptible transitions between the case and the strap. Well, black. But this is not for everyone; there is no point in ranting a lot about this. Since the bracelet is also designed for use while sleeping, it cannot be uncomfortable. That is why there is nothing strongly protruding here that would press at night/in other conditions. As a result, wearing the bracelet is pleasant - and after a day you forget about its presence on your hand.

Well, you forget until you need to check the time: to do this you need to either turn your hand (gesture) or press the single control button located on the front panel and shaped like a white circle. Just like on old Meizu smartphones :)

The option of pressing a button is much more relevant in winter, since under clothing the bracelet is not good at recognizing gestures.
It's much easier to just pull back the sleeve and touch it with your finger. It's easier than it sounds. The display is small, but the time display is very well done. The screen is bright, the time can be seen at any time of the day.

In addition to the time, the main “screen” displays the current day of the week, the date, three icons: Bluetooth, an icon indicating night, and a battery icon; as well as the number of steps taken per day.

Everything looks measured, nothing is crammed.

Control of the bracelet display is directly implemented only using a button - one press turns on, the second - the next screen. Using the application on your smartphone, you can change the location and number of screens available/displayed on the bracelet. Moreover, information on additional screens is often not displayed very beautifully: there is an icon, and there is a name - the name does not fit completely. For example, a screen with “swimming” mode:

Although, in the pulse measurement mode, the inscription is at the bottom and in one row, so in this case everything looks much more civilized:

Usage: application, connection

Whether on the box or in the instructions, you can find QR codes.
It is logical to assume that they lead to a smartphone application, especially since under each code there are familiar English words. But no matter how it is, all QR codes lead to third-party applications: to the official application store (analogous to the Play Store, App Store), as well as to Chinese sites where you can download some other Chinese applications. There is no QR code leading to the application required for the bracelet. I understand that the bracelet is for the Chinese market, that’s all, but it would still be possible to make everything more convenient and accessible. But oh well. The application used by the bracelet is Huawei Wear. Yes, it is used for all Huawei wearable devices. It's free and easy to download.

***

Registration and profile creation.

Well, everything here, unlike the instructions, is in English - and if you don’t know it, you can figure it out intuitively. The process of creating a profile and registering is the most standard: we indicate gender, date of birth, height, weight and set a goal for the number of steps per day. They also ask you to enter your nickname and give you the opportunity to add an avatar. It is also possible to change units of measurement.

The application, as you can see, has a black design. It stands out pleasantly among other Chinese crafts a la “minimalism”. But before I start describing the functionality, the application will ask you many times to install one more thing: Huawei Health. Sooner or later, they will get you and you will still put it on - it displays more detailed information about the pulse and other health-related data.

Having two applications at once for one device (bracelet) is such an idea. It would be much more convenient to have all the information in one “Huawei Wear”. Although, I can imagine a scenario where someone needs, for example, to monitor only data from Huawei Health, so let’s skip this topic.

***

Huawei Wear and Health functionality.

To connect the bracelet, you must, of course, turn it on, and select the connection item in “Wear”. Nothing complicated. Each bracelet has its own “identifier”, and it is this one that will be displayed on your smartphone in the list of those available for connection.

Heh, but before you start using everything and everyone, they will bother you with updating the bracelet. It weighs about 7MB, but the entire update process will take, for obvious reasons (in the form of Bluetooth), approximately 15 minutes. Although it is not necessary to update, the update brings several additional functions (by the way, the ability to edit the displayed screens on the bracelet was added with the update), so I still highly recommend updating it.

Now let's get started. The main screen of the Huawei Wear app contains almost everything that is in it. In addition to it, there is a sliding menu where you can change the previously specified data. In general, what is displayed here is a little stuffed, but, at its core, this application is more of a setting for the bracelet. Well, immediately upon entering you can also see information about calories burned and distance traveled. In the application, you can enable sleep monitoring: the bracelet will measure your sleep phases, determine its quality, and so on. All this information is displayed only in Huawei Health. And of course, enabling this function will reduce the operating time of the bracelet. The alarm clock is immediately set - the bracelet has vibration, and it’s really good. The bracelet was still able to wake me up in the morning. You can also set up notifications - choose which applications the bracelet will receive notifications from. I really want to say that the bracelet notifies adequately - if the smartphone is a few meters away from you, and you are busy with something, then the bracelet will vibrate in response to an incoming notification, and the corresponding icon will be displayed on the display with, for example, the name of the person who wrote it.

The bracelet also has an automatic heart rate monitoring function - naturally, this also affects the operating time of the bracelet, but as a result, the Health application will display a graph of your heart rate throughout the day. The bracelet measures your pulse automatically and is unnoticeable in everyday use. We're mostly done with this application, let's move on to the second one. It has a different design, but its structure is very similar to “Wear”. True, there are two tabs - the main screen and settings. There is nothing supernatural in the settings, so I will show them without description and in the form of screenshots.

At the end of the main screen, you can customize the information panels displayed right there. Apart from the panels with application settings, the rest are: - information about the distance traveled, similar to Huawei Wear; — “exercises” panel; - pulse; — “weight” (here for full use you need special scales); - dream;

And I’ll start from the end, with “dream”. Very detailed information is displayed here: from the time of falling asleep/waking up, deep/light sleep and to the quality of breathing during the entire process. And all this in a fairly compact and informative form:

Each item has detailed information in Russian. Thanks to this, you really can fully analyze your entire dream and find out, in general, your “weak points” or something. The same applies to the item related to the pulse. You can track your heart rate for the whole day - from the night with a minimum heart rate of ~50-55, to the heaviest load you had during the selected day. You can also view the history for a week/month, as in the case of sleep monitoring.

As a result, the Huawei Health application used looks like this:

(the first screenshot is another night, for comparison with the last)

***

Synchronizing the bracelet with a smartphone does not cause any problems. When you log into the application, if for some reason the connection is interrupted, you can reconnect in a couple of seconds and all information is immediately synchronized. In Huawei Wear, if anyone hasn’t seen it, the bracelet’s charge level is also displayed. For me, with all the functions turned on, it took exactly 20% in two whole days, which means that for ten days (as stated) of active use the bracelet is stretched. If you turn off sleep and heart rate monitoring, the consumption will be around 5%/day.

At the same time, keep in mind that the bracelet has a display: during a day of measured use, it is activated 30 times, taking into account notifications. All this can be configured/turned off, thereby increasing the operating time. But I don’t think that 10 days of such functionality is not enough. You can remove and charge the bracelet two or three times a month, fortunately this process does not take long.

Conclusion.

Pros:
- display of time, date and day of the week + number of steps taken - detailed sleep monitoring - the same monitoring of your heart rate - working and well-implemented notification alerts - good vibration (alarm clock) - normal operating time - comfortable to wear - high-quality build and materials

Minuses:

— to fully display information you need two applications

I liked the bracelet - and this is considering that I have experience using two bracelets from Xiaomi, which I considered and still consider to be excellent devices for the money. The functionality is not much different from the Mi Bands, but at least the execution - both of the bracelet and of the applications - is completely different. Therefore, you can take Huawei Band 3 for yourself, at least to try something “new” if you are tired of Xiaomi. It is also perfect for the role of your first fitness bracelet, instead of the same Mi Band.

PS It measures steps in about the same way as the Mi Band, and is definitely better than a smartphone that adds an extra thousand a day.

The store gave me coupon HSHR54

, with which the price of the bracelet becomes
$30
. On Ali, the bracelet is on average five dollars more expensive.

  1. Turn on Bluetooth on your Android phone. If there is an option, then make your smartphone discoverable.
  2. Turn on the watch, it should be charged.
  3. Some models are immediately detected by the phone when turned on. Others may require you to activate an option, for example, “Get Started,” by tapping on the screen.
  4. In the Bluetooth list of your mobile device, find the name of the smart watch. If they don't automatically appear in your Bluetooth settings, click "Search for devices."
  5. Once the clock is displayed, click on it.
  6. Typically, a pairing confirmation should appear on the Smart Watch display: this could be a tap on a checkmark or codes that need to be compared on both devices.
  7. On your phone, tap Link or Connect.

Overview of additional watch applications

To ensure that the smartwatch is fully usable, customers install additional applications. Each of them has its own characteristics.

By equipping the “smart watch” with the programs listed below, the user receives

  • Fully used gadget resources
  • Its useful function
  • Make the most of opportunities

Without add-ons, a cheap device becomes ordinary. The best Android smartwatch apps are discussed below.

Endomondo

Helps during training. Convenient to use while jogging. Application attached:

  • For paper
  • Timer
  • Distance sensor
  • Progress statistics

Note! The trial version is free. You will have to pay for the full version. This saves energy.

Apple Watch with Android

Apple plans to release a paid application for owners of Android smartphones so that they can synchronize their iWatch with their mobile device. But for now, there is an alternative method that allows you to connect the Watch Series with a non-Apple smartphone. To do this, you need to install third-party software on both gadgets. Then you can connect them via Bluetooth connection.

  1. Download and install the Aerlink: Wear Connect for iOS app on your phone.
  2. Download and install the BLE Utility program on your Apple Watch.
  3. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
  4. Launch the Aerlink app on Android.
  5. In this program, activate the iOS Service on your mobile device (the message about disabling notifications must be ignored).
  6. On your watch, open the Aerlink alert. If it is missing, repeat step 4.
  7. Your phone will notify you that a connected device has been detected. If this does not happen, repeat steps 4-6.
  8. Tap on the notification and wait for pairing (the watch will notify you of successful pairing).

We would like to warn you that when connecting devices with different platforms, not all functions on the Apple watch will work. And options that work independently of the phone will be available depending on the model and specifications of the smartphone.

Setting your heart rate

The bracelet can accurately measure your heart rate. Data is displayed at a certain frequency (for example, every hour). It is not recommended to leave this function constantly turned on; it will only be useful when playing sports or other increased loads.

The measurement capability is available in two formats:

  • After a certain time;
  • taking into account measurements of physical activity.

The owner indicates what heart rate value is considered critical, and when it is reached, he receives a notification on his smartphone.

Troubleshooting Tips

During the connection process, switching difficulties may arise. Let's look at ways to solve the problem for different operating systems.

For Android

If you cannot connect your watch to your Samsung phone on Android, do the following:

  • update the application on your smartphone;
  • check that Bluetooth is turned on;
  • restart your smart watch and phone;
  • make sure that the devices are not in airplane mode and are located next to each other;
  • if the signal is weak, reset the settings by removing the device and storing it in memory using the same scheme.

For iOS

If you are unable to connect your watch to your iOS phone, do the following:

  • install the update on your iPhone;
  • check the bluetooth connection;
  • turn both devices on and off;
  • Try syncing your devices manually.

As a rule, the tips given are enough to connect a Samsung watch to an Android or iOS phone. If any difficulties arise, you can always refer to the instructions that come with the device.

System updates needed

The watch will not connect to your Google smartphone if the minimum working updates are not installed:

  • Google Play - no lower than 7.3;
  • SearchApp - from 4.0;
  • Android Wear - 1.1.

Weak watch battery

The watch does not connect if the battery is not charged, and also if it does not hold a charge. Bluetooth connection is one of the most energy-consuming processes for any gadget.

Reasons why the watch battery may be overcharged:

  1. The Google Now app runs in the background and drains battery. You will need to put it into sleep mode.
  2. Interruption of wireless Internet connection. Constantly searching for a network increases battery consumption.
  3. System applications reduce battery capacity through automatic synchronization. You need to disable all unused applications.
  4. Problems in the OS. If the smartphone runs on Android 7, the firmware itself may consume an excessive amount of energy. Update required.

Notifications do not appear on the watch display

The problem is solved by rebooting the gadgets and resynchronizing. It is also recommended to check the operation of the application installed on your smartphone, update it and restart it.

Why is there no pairing?

This situation occurs in the case of several parallel connections via Bluetooth. To solve this, you need to cut off third-party connections.

Useful knowledge about the device

As you can see, there are no difficulties with the tincture if you read the instructions carefully. When purchasing a device, you should check everything carefully, especially the packaging and seals. There are a lot of counterfeit products on the market that work like digital watches, but are in no way “bracelets.” In various countries (including Russia), such products are most often sold in retail stores. Before purchasing and setting up, it is best to carefully read the instructions. For sports and fitness enthusiasts, Honor Band 3 pro will significantly improve the quality of your workouts; It will teach you how to plan the body’s time and resources in order to use them with maximum efficiency.

Bottom line

We have provided you with instructions on how to connect your watch to your Android phone and iPhone. Before pairing two devices, we recommend that you read the manual included with the wearable gadget. Find out how the connection to your smartphone should occur: through a special application or through Bluetooth settings.

When connecting, carefully read the recommendations and tips in each of the steps that will help you complete the procedure correctly.
