EaseUS MobiSaver (formerly Free Android Data Recovery) is a utility for recovering lost data on Android smartphones: contacts, messages, videos, documents, etc. To start recovering information, you need to install the program on your computer.
Android smartphones have synchronization with a Google account - it is used to download applications from Google Play and as an email (Gmail).
Open the system application “Contacts” - here are the numbers that are saved on the phone. Open the control menu (usually the three dots in the upper right corner or the menu on the left) and go to Settings.
Here you need to select the “Import/Export” function. A new section will open - select the source from which the smartphone will download contacts. Typically this is a Google account, which is displayed in the format [email protected].
If the contacts were saved in your Google profile, a list of numbers will open. Select the required phones and click “OK” - they will be transferred to your smartphone automatically.
Before you start restoring contacts on Android, you should make sure that they are definitely deleted and not just hidden.

Solution
To get rid of a newly appeared number, you need to delete it in Google Contacts. This is a service that is used to synchronize phone numbers. If Google dialer is running on your phone, then after deletion the subscribers will not be restored.
But on devices with their own Phone application installed, you need to additionally clear the contact list presented on the service website:
- Open contacts.google.com in your browser.
- Log in using your Google account.
- Go to the "Contacts" section.
- Mark the subscriber you are interested in and click the delete button.
Now the subscriber's contact information will no longer be displayed on the phone. At the same time, the problem may make itself felt in the future. After all, we considered only the special case of deleting one person. To prevent the situation from happening again, it is recommended to refer to one more instruction.
How can I recover deleted contacts on Android without backup?
How to Recover Lost Android Data Without Backup
- Step 1: Connect your Android device. First, launch the Android Data Recovery software on your computer and select "Data Recovery".
- Step 2: Select the file types to scan. Once your device is successfully connected, Android Data Recovery will show the data types it supports. ...
- Step 3. Preview and recover lost data from Android phone.
Causes of the problem
Despite the fact that the situation when deleted numbers return to their original places seems to be a system failure, in practice the fault falls on the owner of the device. Typically, to save contacts, the user turns to the built-in Phone application. Consequently, he also deletes unnecessary contacts through it.
However, all Android smartphones automatically synchronize with Google services, including Google Contacts. That is, the numbers are stored not only in the standard dialer, but also on the servers of the American company. If a person deletes a number in the Phone app, it will continue to remain in Google Contacts. In addition, when synchronization with the service is activated, the deleted data is automatically loaded into the standard dialer.
↑ System applications - will help restore contacts.
Everyone knows that phone numbers are managed using the built-in Contacts program, and with its help, contacts are returned to the address book.
↑ Show hidden contacts.
There are cases when contacts do not disappear anywhere, but can simply be hidden from prying eyes. To display them, you need to go to the Contacts application. In it, go to the menu (in the form of three dots), then tap on Contact Filter and mark the SIM card. After the manipulations have been completed, the contacts will again be shown in the phone book.
↑ Restoring the backup.
This is how contacts are restored from a backup file. We recommend saving all contacts in the cloud storage of your Google account or branded launcher. This will help prevent their permanent removal in the future.
For Android phones there are special programs that you can use until the media is overwritten. There are several applications that can scan the internal memory of a smartphone and find lost data. These include:
Additional features
If you need to restore contacts on Android after deletion, you can use different methods, proceeding from simple to complex. But there are also alternative methods. Thus, we have developed a special utility for devices of this brand, Samsung Kies 2, which perfectly copes with the task assigned to it.
You can also return lost or disappeared contacts to Lenovo. Manufacturers release custom software for their devices.
Another simple option for restoring contacts on Android is if the user has WhatsApp. The entire phone book saved in this application is available for restoration at any time.
It doesn't matter how the contacts disappeared on Android. You can restore them even if the display is broken and the phone itself does not boot. All you need is a computer and a little knowledge.
Is it worth deleting such numbers from the messenger - instructions for iPhone and Android
Systematic copying of deleted or unfamiliar numbers from storage is not everyone’s cup of tea, because who wants to repeatedly clean contacts, especially when there is sorely no time for such tasks?
As a result, the number of complaints about such systemic manifestations of the platform is growing exponentially, so a way to deal with the problem on smartphones running Android and iOS has appeared online.
iPhone
If there are only a few unnecessary contacts on your phone, you can delete them manually one by one.
To do this, you need to perform a number of simple steps:
- Find the desired contact in the chat.
- Click on its icon.
- Select the "Change" option.
- Find the "Delete" function.
- Confirm the action by pressing the “OK” button.
The easiest option to get rid of suddenly appeared deleted numbers in Telegram is to manually clear them.
If you need to mass delete imported contacts, the operating principle will be slightly different. You will have to delve directly into the Telegram server, where all the data is stored.
To do this you need:
- Go to the “Settings” menu and find the gear icon.
- To call the context menu, just quickly click on it at least 10 times.
- In the dialog box that appears, select the “reset Server Contacts” function.
After these manipulations, all information from the Telegram server will be automatically deleted. All manipulations are quite simple, so everyone can independently clean up their contact list, as well as help friends solve their problem.
The manual cleaning method is suitable if there are not many contacts and it is easy to find phantom ones among them
Restoring contacts without a backup
We will start the process with the simplest options - without using third-party services and additional applications.
Method No. 1. Recovering from internal memory
If contacts were deleted manually or disappeared after updating the operating system, try the simplest recovery method:
- Open the “Settings” section on your mobile device.
- Click on “Backup and Reset”.
- Next, you will have to select the location where the backup is located - on a mobile device or in cloud storage.
If you had a recent backup, you will be able to restore your data without any problems. But what to do if the simplest method did not work or the reasons for missing contacts are much more serious?
We will talk about this further. But first, let's look at another basic recovery method.
Method No. 2. Recovering from internal memory
Nowadays, users practically do not store contacts on SIM cards because it is inconvenient. In addition, more than 300 entries on a SIM card simply “will not fit.”
But if you are one of those who save phone numbers on a SIM card, and you have lost one or more of them, try the following recovery method:
- Open Contacts on your smartphone and tap on the three dots located in the top right corner to open Settings.
- Click on the “Import/Export” button.
- Next, click on “Import from SIM”.
- Save the selected numbers to your mobile device.
Method No. 3. Restoring contacts through a mobile operator
Another option that allows you to restore several deleted numbers is to contact your cellular operator. Through your personal account on the official website, by calling the support service or through the application, order details of the services provided to you. This list may contain a list of not only calls, but also SMS - it all depends on the specific mobile operator.
Of course, this way you will only be able to restore those contacts with whom you were recently in touch. But it's better than nothing.
If the methods listed above did not help you, let’s move on to the “heavy artillery”.
Delete one or more contacts
The need to delete all numbers once and for all does not arise as often as the need to delete one or two contacts. This is a much more popular scenario, which is also implemented using an Android smartphone. In this case, it is proposed to act in accordance with the following algorithm:
- Open your phone book.
- Go to the individual subscriber's page.
- Click on the “Delete” button or the icon presented in the form of a sketch of a trash can.
You need to do the same with all contact information that you consider unnecessary. That is, open each business card one by one, and then click on the “Delete” button on the page of each contact. Alternatively, you can go the other way:
- Launch the Contacts application.
- Hold your finger on one of the extra subscribers.
- Place a checkmark next to all the numbers you want to get rid of.
- Click on the “Delete” button.
Most often the second option works. The first method is not available on every smartphone due to the characteristics of the manufacturer. Therefore, do not worry if you are unable to delete the number using one of the methods presented, because there is always an alternative option.
Partial and complete deletion of contacts from Google account
All data added to the smartphone’s address book is duplicated in your Google account. To clear your account of unnecessary numbers you will need:
In the access settings there is a section with all entries saved in the phone’s address book. In this tab you can perform various actions with them: add new ones, merge duplicates, create groups, delete unnecessary ones. In order to erase unnecessary information from the telephone directory, you should:
After deletion, a window will appear at the bottom of the page notifying you that the number has been erased. On the right side of the message there is the inscription “Cancel”. When you click on it, the recording will be restored.
If you need to erase the data of several recipients at the same time or clear the entire phone book, you will need:
Attention! In this way, you can delete not only a group or the entire directory, but also one entry.
The action can be canceled immediately by clicking on the corresponding inscription in the window that appears (at the bottom of the page), informing about the successful deletion.
Duplicates
Telephone directory entries saved under the same names can be grouped and left under one name. Thus, one recipient with an identical name will disappear. To do this, go to the main menu (three horizontal bars in the upper left part of the window), tap on the “Similar Contacts” panel and click on the “Merge” button.
Removing phone numbers from other devices
You can clear your phone book not only using your smartphone, but also from any other device: computer, TV, another phone, etc. You will need a browser and Internet access. To do this, go to the Google contacts page. Next, you will need to log in by logging into your account. After this, you will be taken to the appropriate page. Then you can erase unnecessary numbers. The process of removing them is identical to that carried out through the gadget settings and described above.
Synchronization
If you delete a phone number in your Google account, it will remain in the smartphone's address book unless synchronization is performed. It can be done manually or set to automatic synchronization. In order for an entry to disappear simultaneously from your Google account and the gadget’s system application, you need to immediately erase it from both places. Then synchronization is optional.
To enable automatic synchronization you need to:
If you enable auto-synchronization, it will occur at any time, regardless of whether there is a connection to a Wi-Fi point or not, which entails an increase in traffic consumption. When setting synchronization only via Wi-fi, it will only take place when connected to its stable point.
To perform manual synchronization you will need:
The beginning of synchronization is indicated by the appearance of two spinning arrows on the right side of the line.
[Questions] tell me, I delete contacts and they appear again, how can I fix this?
If there are service contacts of SIM cards, then no way, they are annoying, they are always restored after deletion! Disable display from the SIM card. If personal contacts, then synchronization is enabled, I think, I myself flew with this synchronization a couple of years ago, I don’t know how it works, via hard drive I lost half of my contacts, since then all synchronization has been turned off for me, and I make a manual backup of my contacts (import, export) as needed, to Google Drive, to my phone’s memory, even to my computer, anywhere and no problems ! |
If you are connected to Global, then delete it while the Internet is on, and then do forced synchronization. |
LUNKOT If you are connected to Gloud, then delete it with the Internet turned on, and then do forced synchronization.
As far as I understand, they are synchronized in Mi Cloud and after deletion they appear in the phone again. I haven’t bothered with this myself, but I think they need to be removed both in the body and in Cloud.

Removing contacts from your Google account through your smartphone settings
To delete a contact via a smartphone, you need to log into your Google account in a special section and go to the contact list there. Here are step-by-step instructions for this:
After this, the contact will be completely removed from this Google account. But you need to remember that it may return from the phone's phone book after synchronization. To prevent this from happening, you need to synchronize your Google contacts with your smartphone after any changes (read about this below).
Contacts in messengers
If you use messengers such as Viber, Telegram or Whatsapp, then your contacts with phone numbers are also saved in them. Those. By entering the messenger contact list, you can see the phone numbers of people who were previously in your Android phone book (and you can also go to the messenger on your computer if your phone is suddenly lost or broken).
Unfortunately, I cannot offer ways to quickly export contacts (except for saving and then entering them manually) from instant messengers: in the Play Store there are two applications “Export Contacts Of Viber” and “Export Contacts for Whatsapp”, but I cannot say about their performance (if you tried it, let me know in the comments).
Also, if you install the Viber client on a Windows computer, then in the folder C: Users Username AppData Roaming ViberPC Phone number you will find the viber.db file, which is a database with your contacts. This file can be opened in a regular editor like Word, where, although in an inconvenient form, you will see your contacts with the ability to copy them. If you know how to write SQL queries, you can open viber.db in SQL Lite and export contacts from there in a form convenient for you.
Let's take a closer look at how to restore contacts on your phone in this case by moving them from the SIM card:
Why do contacts disappear on my Android phone?
The contact list may disappear due to rash actions of the user or some kind of failure. The most likely reasons include:
- settings accidentally set by the smartphone owner, which simply hid the desired list;
- Android crash;
- phone memory malfunction;
- Reset to factory settings completed;
- impact of a virus application.
Since on almost all Android smartphones users use a Google profile, which is synchronized with the server, restoring contacts is not a problem. Next, we will describe this, as well as other ways to return mobile numbers.
