Wireless headphones do not pair with each other, what should I do?

This article is a detailed instruction in which I will show you how to reset wireless headphones to factory settings and synchronize the headphones with each other. We will talk about wireless Bluetooth headphones in TWS format (completely wireless headphones when the right and left headphones are connected to each other via Bluetooth). In addition to the advantages that TWS headphones have (ease of use, compactness), they have one problem - desynchronization of the headphones. Since the right and left earphones are connected to each other via Bluetooth, it is not uncommon for this connection to be lost for some reason and only one earphone plays. For example, only the right one can play, but the left one stops working. Or vice versa, the right earphone does not work and does not connect, but the left one works.

This problem affects almost all wireless TWS headphones. It’s just that on some models it appears more often, and on others less often. Typically, it depends on the manufacturer, quality, price and use of the headphones. On the same AirPods there is practically no such problem. And some cheap Chinese headphones have to be reset to factory settings and synchronized almost every day, since desynchronization occurs very often.

There are a lot of wireless TWS headphones on the market. Both popular models from trusted manufacturers and Chinese headphones of dubious quality costing a few dollars. But the problem with desync (when one earphone stops playing) happens in both cases. I have encountered this problem on different models. This instruction is suitable for all TWS headphones. Including for Xiaomi Redmi AirDots, Xiaomi Earbuds Basic, i30, i12, i11, i10, i9s, i7s, Motorola Verve Buds, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Huawei Freebuds, Defunc True Go, Nokia Power Earbuds, Pixus Drum, OPPO, Realme, Xiaomi QCY, Xiaomi Haylou, JBL and others.

Reasons for wireless headphones not pairing with each other

Among the reasons why wireless earbuds do not connect to each other, we note the following:

Causes:Explanation:
The headphone pairing procedure was performed incorrectly by the user.Typically, users ignore the instructions for turning on and setting up the headphones, trying to connect at random. The result of such actions is incorrect operation of the device.
The headphones are located far from each other.It is recommended to pair the headphones for the first time by placing them next to each other.
One of the headphones is disconnected.In some versions of wireless headphones, it is not enough to remove the headphones from the charging box. They also need to be turned on by holding down the multifunction button of each headphone for a few seconds. If one of the headphones is not turned on, pairing will not occur.
The headphones (earphones) are not in pairing mode.In a number of models, to enter synchronization mode with each other, you need to perform a number of actions (for example, double-click the multifunction button of one of the headphones). If this does not happen, the earbuds will not sync with each other.
The devices are discharged.An important condition for pairing (especially the first such procedure) is that they are fully charged. If one of the headphones is discharged, or is near this mark, pairing may not occur.
The phone's Bluetooth data already contains incorrect Bluetooth headphone connection data.This occurs in a situation where the user has previously tried to connect headphones, but did it incorrectly. In the phone's list of Bluetooth devices, the data of an incorrect Bluetooth connection has been saved. In this case, it will be necessary to delete this data from there, “forgetting” the incorrect connection.
There is a powerful Wi-Fi router nearby.The Wi-Fi signal uses the same frequency spectrum as Bluetooth. Move away from the router.

Forget the incorrectly selected connection
Having listed the main causes of dysfunction, let's describe ways to pair the headphones with each other.

i7 TWS Specifications

i7 TWS headphones are a kind of “plugs”. The shape allows them to fit securely in the ear without causing discomfort. Made of plastic that is pleasant to the touch and has no nicks or other imperfections. Even when you move, for example, on a morning jog, they remain securely in one place.

Other advantages and technical characteristics:

  • The device has built-in voice prompts in English;
  • You can also pair the i7 with two devices at the same time;
  • It is possible to dial the last contact you called without interacting with your smartphone;
  • The headphones have a charging port. Full charging cycle - 80 minutes;
  • Built-in battery with 60 mAh, which allows you to work without interruptions for up to 4 hours;
  • There are 2 operating modes: normal, economical;
  • Supports Bluetooth version 4.1;
  • Weight - 4 grams.

You can listen to music within a radius of 10 meters from the playback source. The built-in Smart Multi function allows you to connect two i7 TWS headphones to two devices. This way you can easily invite your girlfriend or friend to listen to music. An additional case allows you to extend listening to up to a day. If you use only one earphone, you can listen to music 2 times longer - 8 hours.

Depending on your mobile device, connection instructions may be different. In some cases, you can connect i7 TWS in the following way:

  1. When the headphones flash in different colors, press the control button on one of them 2 times;
  2. One should stop blinking and the color will change to blue;
  3. On your phone, connect Bluetooth and activate the device.

What to do if the headphones don't sync with each other

If your wireless headphones are not syncing with each other, then do the following:

  1. Remove your headphones from the list of paired Bluetooth devices on your phone (if you previously tried to make a Bluetooth connection); Remove incorrectly paired headphones from the list of connected devices
  2. Turn off your earbuds. Take them out of the charging box and press the multifunction buttons (touch or mechanical) for a few seconds until they turn off. The indicators will go out; Press the multi-function buttons on the headphones until they turn off completely
  3. Wait a couple of seconds and then press the multi-function button on both earbuds again until they turn on. The headphone LEDs will light up and a beep will sound. Continue holding down the buttons until the LEDs go off. This will mean resetting the headphones to factory settings; Wait until the LEDs go off to reset the device
  4. When the LEDs go out, release the headphones;
  5. Now press both buttons again until the LED lights up. As soon as the LED lights up, release the buttons;
  6. The headphones will go into pairing mode and find each other. After this, the indicator of one earphone (usually the left one) will go out, and the second will blink in search of the phone; The right earbud will blink searching for your phone
  7. All that remains is to connect the main (right) earphone to the phone. Find it (usually the right one - R) in the list of Bluetooth devices available for pairing, and pair with your smartphone.

This method works well with QCY and other models of wireless headphones.

Disconnection during operation or sound problems

During operation of the headphones, problems may arise with a decrease in sound volume, periodic or complete interruption, delay, as well as crackling and extraneous sounds.

Troubleshooting depends on the cause:

  • Weak signal or physical interference. Perhaps you are too far away from the device or there is a physical barrier between you and the sound source - a wall, window, etc. Try connecting in a different location and try to keep your smartphone or paired device close to the headphones to avoid connection problems.
  • There may be a problem with the paired device - try connecting to another one and checking the performance of the headphones.
  • Different versions of Bluetooth. If the paired device has a version less than 5.0, the connection will use a slower protocol, which may cause communication failures or signal lag.
  • Check whether the headphones are turned on and what the volume level is on the paired device. Reconnect them and adjust the volume.
  • Interference from microwaves or other devices. Turn off any devices that may be causing interference and check if the problem goes away.

If all else fails, then you should completely disconnect from all paired devices and reset to factory settings. If this does not change the situation even after repeating it several times, a serious breakdown may have occurred and you should contact a service center.

An alternative way to pair headphones with each other

If the above method did not help and your earbuds still do not pair, then do the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone;
  2. Reset your earbuds (for example, as described above);
  3. Place them back into the charging box and wait a minute;
  4. Now take out the right earbud first and turn it on;
  5. Then take the left wireless earbud out of the case and turn it on;
  6. Simultaneously double-click the multi-function button of the right and left earbuds;
  7. You will hear a beep when they are synchronized and will be able to use their capabilities.

Reset

This solution is suitable for most similar headphones. I show the example of Xiaomi Redmi AirDots and Earbuds Basic.

  1. Charge your headphones.
  2. We take both headphones out of the case and take them in our hands.
  3. Press and hold the buttons (mechanical or touch, depending on the model) for about 5 seconds. Usually the red light comes on and goes off. Let's release the buttons.

    We turned off the headphones. Sound signal "Power Off". On some models you can skip this step.

  4. Again simultaneously press the buttons on the headphones and hold them for about 20-50 seconds. The time after which the reset will occur and how the indicators will behave at this moment depends on the specific model. It's not always the same. But as a rule, the white indicator flashes first, and then the blue/red (white/red) indicator flashes alternately several times.

    To be sure, keep the buttons pressed for about a minute.

  5. Place the headphones in the case for 10 seconds.

  6. We take the headphones out of the case and wait for them to synchronize with each other (as a rule, the indicator starts blinking (white, blue/red, blue - it depends on the specific model) only on one headphone, the main one). This means that the headphones are ready to be connected.

    If the indicators on the headphones do not blink, then press the buttons for 5 seconds to turn them on.

  7. Reconnect the headphones to your phone or other device. Photo for example. You may have a different headphone name and a different phone number.

  8. If it doesn’t work out the first time, be sure to try a few more times.
