It is based on 8-nanometer technology, has a frequency of 1.8-2.2 GHz and a Mali graphics controller -G76 MP5.
Samsung Galaxy A42 is equipped with 128 GB of internal memory with support for expansion with microSD cards. The model will go on sale with a pre-installed Android 10 operating system, complemented by proprietary One UI 2.5 software. From what is already known, we note Wi-Fi adapters (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The battery capacity and the amount of RAM are not specified.

The ultra-wide-angle lens has good focusing and almost no distortion at the edges. Unfortunately, the A42 does not have optical zoom – only digital zoom, up to 10x. Already after 2x the blur in the photo is very noticeable.
The macro camera works like on similar models in the series, but does not stand out as anything special. The depth sensor helps with Portrait photography by blurring the background and pinpointing the boundaries of the main subject. The quality of the front lens is also good, although the bokeh effect is inferior to Portrait shooting from the main sensor.
The photography application on the Galaxy A42 5G is standard, like for a Samsung phone. In addition to the usual modes, the Single Take and Fun functions are available - the first is a serial shooting of photos and videos from all cameras, the second allows you to add filters like in Snapchat.

The main competitors of the Galaxy A42 5G will be other smartphones of the same line: Samsung Galaxy A32 and Samsung Galaxy A52. Samsung Galaxy A42, unlike its compact predecessors Galaxy A40 and Galaxy A41, sports a gigantic 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a built-in fingerprint scanner.
