Adhesive for touch phone, sizing of display, touchscreen

Even with the most careful handling of your mobile phone, there are no guarantees or confidence that it will not slip out of your hands or fall on a hard surface. The consequences of such an incident are different, but usually the glass that falls off the body suffers. And then the question immediately arises: what to do if the screen on your phone comes off, take it to repair for a replacement or try to fix the cell phone yourself. Here you should compare the price factor - the services of a specialist or installation of a new display will cost a tidy sum, and you will have to spend time. At the same time, glue for the phone screen is not difficult to find, and the costs for it are purely symbolic. If you choose the path to solving the problem yourself, then you need to make the right choice of glue for the touchscreen and display, since everything is not so simple here.

What causes the screen to come off on an Honor phone?

Experts identify several reasons that can lead to this:

Let's look at each point in more detail. So, if you have been using a mobile phone for several years or even longer, and are not always careful with a rather fragile gadget, the adhesive layer between the plastic display frame and the glass may break down, leading to peeling.

Similar factors - excessive heat or cold - have a negative impact on the battery, and it can swell, even if it is recently installed. The battery can change shape as a result of mechanical damage or moisture. Often, such symptoms indicate severe wear and incorrect conduction of the discharge-charge cycle, for example, the reasons are often the use of non-original chargers or being connected to the electrical network for a long time.

The screen may come off even if you contact unverified technicians to replace it. An unprofessional approach leads to disastrous results. In this case, you need to contact the service center again, but you should pay attention to choosing reliable engineers.

What to do if the Honor phone screen comes off

If the screen on your Honor phone comes off, what should you do? The only right decision is to visit the service center! Only users who have the skills to replace the display, high-quality spare parts and special tools can cope with the situation on their own.

To diagnose and search for a specific cause, technicians disassemble the device, check the battery and the frame of the screen module. If a breakdown is detected, the part must be completely replaced. If the observed defect is caused by broken glue, the layer is changed and the frame is put back in place.

Without the proper experience, you can only complicate the upcoming repairs at home. If, through carelessness or ignorance, you touch the sensors, you may lose the ability to use electronics altogether, and the amount that you will ultimately have to pay for restoration will increase significantly. Contact a reliable service center as soon as possible!

Repairing a detached Sony Z3 Compact screen

Greetings to all! The second time there was a problem with my phone. The screen came off. The first time they re-glued it under warranty, but after 2 months it began to come off again in the upper left corner. I read the forums, various methods of re-gluing. The main thing I understood is that gluing according to the technology conceived by the manufacturer will eventually lead to peeling off. The design is not well thought out. I used in my work:
1.
cotton swabs and pads,
2.
medical syringe 2 ml,
3.
wooden toothpicks
4.
plastic salary card))
5.
vodka
6.
sealant glue
7.
paper clips
8.
cotton rag
9 .
hair dryer
10.
sheet of white A4 paper

“Let's go”:
1.
Heated the upper part of the screen with a hairdryer, picked up the glass with a toothpick (sorry, there was no specialized tool in the form of plastic spatulas and picks) and, with periodic heating, slowly peeled off the upper part.
As the gap between the screen and the body increased, it attracted a plastic card, periodically warmed it up and peeled off the screen little by little. THE MAIN THING IS NOT TO Rush!
2.

We take toothpicks and clean off the remaining glue and dirt from the body casings. Blow out the remains. We do the same on the inside of the screen, along the perimeter of the glass. Then we take a cotton swab/disk, soak it in alcohol and degrease the grooves of the case and the edges of the screen from the inside.

Common Causes of Display Module Misalignment

If you notice that the screen is moving away from the top corner of the iPhone's frame (the appearance of the case has changed), the damage may have occurred when the smartphone was dropped. However, it is not always possible to find out why the glass came away from the body and the gap at the top became visible.

The main reasons why the screen comes off and a gap is visible near the body are:

  • swollen battery
  • frame deformation (if the device falls)
  • manufacturing defects
  • dust particles getting inside the iPhone

If the smartphone has been dropped and its appearance has deteriorated, a gap at the top has become visible, the glass has come off, or the touchscreen has begun to malfunction, immediate screen repair is necessary.

Problems with the screen. Replacing the display on your phone/tablet

A broken screen on a phone (or tablet) is the most popular problem with which clients contact our service. And it’s not surprising, because the material used to make the screen is glass. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s hardened or gorilla glass. As practice shows, everything breaks. And if a phone falls, it must be with the glass down.

Main problems with the screen on your phone

Top glass cracked

At the same time, cracks appeared along the top glass of the screen, the touch screen continues to respond to touch, the image on the display is free of stains and dead pixels. The most common case. But it is not always possible to replace broken glass separately. More details about this later in the article >> modular replacement.

The sensor does not work

Externally, no cracks are visible, but the touch screen (aka touchscreen) does not work. In this case, part of the screen may not respond to touch, the sensor may not work at the point of contact or may not work at all. There are many reasons for this - the phone was dropped and a chip formed in the glass of the touchscreen, the cable peeled off from the glass, etc.

In 99% of cases when the sensor does not work, the problem can ONLY be solved by replacing it. You can often hear the opinion that something may have gone wrong or needs to be fixed. No, that won't help. Just change the touchscreen. And, as in the case of glass, often a module. More details about why this is later in the article.

Problems with the display matrix

There is a picture on the screen, but it is only visible if you look at the light. The display is not backlit at all (although the touch buttons may be backlit when you press the power button). What could be:

No screen backlight

Why do you need to change the display module?

Even if only the top glass is cracked, but the sensor and display work normally. The fact is that the design of most modern displays is designed in such a way that the glass, touch panel and matrix are one spare part. Therefore, it is necessary to change the entire display module assembly . This affects the cost of spare parts, and therefore the cost of repairing the phone as a whole. Check with the technician whether the touchscreen can be changed separately or whether the module needs to be changed, and indicate the exact model of the smartphone or tablet.

Demand creates supply, and many workshops offer to replace individually broken glass on the screen (or touchscreen). This can not be done on all phone models, and it is not always cost-effective. Sometimes replacing the glass will cost almost as much as replacing the module, especially on budget and mid-range smartphones. On expensive phones, where the screen module itself costs a lot of money (usually Amoled displays), it is almost impossible to replace the glass separately due to the fragility of the display matrix. It all depends on the phone model.

Screen replacement time

Dear customers, we ourselves are interested in getting our phone repaired quickly . They did it and made money. But quality comes first for us. And here there is a nuance that on many phone models the screen is glued to a special adhesive-sealant , which dries for about 10 hours .

That is, if the repair is done efficiently, it will take at least a day for the screen to stick well and there will be no problems with it in the future. There are services where the display is glued with double-sided tape. The problem is that modern phones have very narrow frames and the tape simply does not hold.

As a result, the screen peels off and highlights appear on the sides (especially visible in the dark).

Plus there is a basic loading of masters, time for checking, etc. But I repeat once again, we ourselves are interested in changing the screen efficiently and quickly at the same time. The terms, as well as the price, are agreed upon individually, usually no more than 1-2 business days (except for rare phone models, spare parts for which must be ordered).

How not to glue smartphones

You cannot glue with superglue, PVA glue, sealants or simple double-sided tape.

Superglue ruins the frame and can damage the part. A quick chemical reaction occurs with such glue; it destroys the surface and eats into it. Moreover, with such glue there will be only one attempt at repair; the second time you will have to buy a new part and tear the old one off the frame with tweezers, sand the surface from superglue. It is 100% not suitable for gluing parts in phones.

Sealants are bad because over time they begin to let dust through and the gluing technology itself is not suitable for them. At first the part will stick, but over time it will begin to peel off. No automotive or construction sealants are suitable for repairing electronics.

Most often, special glue is used when assembling phones and tablets. It holds up to changes in temperature, moisture, and does not damage touch surfaces. An example of such an adhesive is B7000.

If the screen comes off on your iPhone 5S

I have repeatedly seen people's phones with broken screens. But so that the screen just rises a little. I didn’t know this could happen until I experienced it myself. The article contains possible causes and solutions.

It doesn't come off much. I probably didn't notice it for a while. Then he paid attention. By clicking on the screen you can put it in place. But when he lets go, he immediately returns to his original state.

The design of the iPhone 5S is such that the screen is glued to a plastic frame. And it, in turn, is fixed in the body. Such a breakdown means that the screen has peeled off from the plastic frame. There, by default, something like double-sided tape is used for gluing.

This can happen for two reasons:

Most likely in my case the second thing happened. A phone in my pocket is a common thing for me. Sometimes he got it really bad. I noticed a slight deformation of the body more than once. I simply straightened it with my hands and continued using it.

If the battery swells, the screen comes off more significantly. Maybe not right away. At first a little, then more and more. In this case, you need to deal with the problem as quickly as possible, before the screen is damaged and has to be replaced.

When I discovered the problem and studied information on the Internet, I ordered a new battery for the phone. Then I ordered another set of screwdrivers and special glue for repairs. I ordered on AliExpress. Below there will be detailed information. While I was waiting for all this, 4 months passed. During this time the screen did not move away anymore. I think this is a sign that the battery has nothing to do with it.

And the battery worked, in general, well. As always, I charged the phone once a day or every two days, depending on the intensity of use. When the battery swells, I think it should affect how long it lasts.

Another note - this winter the phone reacted too sharply to moisture. I love winter sports. And sometimes this means wet clothes, damp hands. Sometimes you pick up your phone, or it’s lying in a damp pocket, and you look, and it’s turned off. I haven't noticed this before. Apparently, the screen was no longer sealed; moisture easily entered. A little later after that I noticed the problem.

Repair

In any case, it is better to disassemble the phone. This way you can visually assess the condition of the battery and understand whether it needs to be changed. Plus, a disassembled phone is easier to clean. When the screen comes off, all sorts of dirt and dust gets underneath it. Also, it is better to clean off the remnants of the double-sided tape with which the screen is glued to the plastic frame.

To disassemble the iPhone 5S you need to unscrew two screws at the bottom of the case. To do this, you will need a screwdriver in the form of a 5-pointed star, 0.8 mm in size.

When I ordered the battery, I immediately had all the necessary tools included with it. They partially helped me. This is a suction cup, and plastic holders of different shapes. But the screwdriver didn’t fit, so I ordered a set of screwdrivers separately.

Also included with the battery were two adhesive strips. It's kind of like double-sided tape. But only here the base is very thin material reminiscent of rubber.

By default, the iPhone 5S battery was glued to the bottom of the case using similar strips. When replacing the battery, they will also have to be replaced.

If you have an old battery without a clearly visible bulge on the surface (like mine in the photo), then keep in mind that most likely you don’t have to change it for now.

Removing the old battery turned out to be the most difficult part. It was glued too well. First I pryed it up with plastic tools. But they bent. I had to arm myself with a metal screwdriver. I shouldn't have done it.

Where the screwdriver rested on the battery, the latter was damaged and tried to catch fire! Fortunately, it flared up and immediately went out. There were no casualties. To avoid this from happening again, it is better to use some kind of wide spatula, preferably non-metallic. The wider, the larger the contact patch and the less chance of damaging the battery.

The new battery has taken its place:

Take a good look at all the details near the screen. In the photo above, for example, you can see that the edge of the case is dirty. This needs to be cleaned off. You can use an old toothbrush.

While the screen along with the plastic frame is separated from the body, it is also easy to clean. Remove traces of tape and remove dust.

Even before the phone was finally assembled, I turned it on and made sure that it worked with the new battery. Then I collected it. And then I started gluing the screen to the plastic frame. Probably it was possible to glue it in a disassembled state. But I did what I did. It seemed more convenient to me.

When assembled, the phone screen could easily be raised slightly. This was enough to apply a strip of glue around the perimeter. Then the screen was pressed with very good force and left there overnight.

The next day the screen was in place and motionless. However, I used the phone with caution at first. On the tube of glue it is written that the time for complete drying of the glue is up to 48 hours.

In the end, I'm happy with the result.

Battery WST for iPhone 5S

I ordered it here for 900 rubles. Delivery within a week, because... shipping from Russia.

There is no point in choosing batteries with increased capacity. If it were possible to place a more capacious battery in the same phone body, do you think Apple wouldn’t do it? In general, I advise you not to be deceived.

Screwdrivers Jakemy JM8141

This is a very cool set of screwdrivers! Made very carefully. The tips are well magnetic. The 0.8mm sprocket fits the iPhone 5S perfectly. I disassembled the phone without any problems at all.

The set will be useful to me in the future. The only pity is that there is no working packaging. You will have to store it in this blister. But perhaps then the price would have been a little higher. And so, it cost me 280 rubles. I ordered it here.

Warranty for protective glass

The main problems when gluing protective glass

The first and main problem, if you need to re-glue the old protective glass of your phone, will be its removal. The complexity of the procedure lies in the need to carefully lift the protective glass, separating it from the display. In addition to the glue, the screen will be held in place due to static attraction and a tight fit.

Remove old glass carefully, without leaving small fragments. When pushing a plastic card, it will need to be stopped if even a small fragment gets caught at an angle - this threatens to damage the touchscreen.

An equally difficult problem is the presence of an adhesive base. A significant part of protective glass uses a special glue that is capable of holding the entire structure securely during the first sticker, but with each new removal, the duration and effectiveness of retention decreases.

Is it possible to re-glue the protective glass on a smartphone?

The answer to this question will depend on the quality of the product, as well as its characteristics and properties. It is not only possible, but even necessary, to re-glue the glass if it has come off or does not stick in certain places. In this case, two problems can be identified that will require different actions.

An alternative to liquid for gluing along the edge of protective glass can be glycerin. It is quite easy to apply glycerin with a brush to the edges of the already fixed glass and rub it with a napkin, removing the excess to ensure fixation. Apply the liquid so as to fill all voids and grooves between the glass and the display.

How to re-glue the protective glass on your phone: instructions

Please note that re-sticking the glass will be a little more difficult than using protective film. First of all, it is not recommended to lift this type of product only partially. You will need to completely remove the glass, and after that install it a second time exactly along the contour of the smartphone.

If you have already removed the protective glass, do not turn it over. The adhesive side should be down to prevent debris or dust from entering. Even a small particle of dust can cause problems with the sensor, damage the touchscreen, or simply leave an air bubble.

The steps to stick the glass a second time can be divided into several stages:

Useful tips

You can remove dust, debris or lint that gets on the display before installing the protective glass using tape. Cut a thin strip, stick it on the speck and sharply lift it by the edge - this procedure will not only get rid of debris and prevent the formation of air bubbles, but will also not leave marks.

If you are re-applying the protective glass, it can be removed and re-attached in a few seconds. Remember that even a slight distortion or the edge of the glass protruding by a fraction of a millimeter above the smartphone body can damage it and significantly reduce the level of protection.

Glue B-7000

Looks like it's a universal glue. Suitable for tasks such as gluing a phone screen. The seller wrote about this and this is the glue that is most often recommended for phone repair on the Internet.

The spout is very convenient for gluing small parts. Again, it was not difficult to crawl under the iPhone 5S screen and apply a strip of glue there.

The glue looks transparent. Moderately liquid. It does not stretch with thin threads. If a drop forms, it does not hang, but falls. The smell is reminiscent of Moment glue. It feels the same to the touch, but a little more liquid.

According to the instructions, it is recommended to apply glue, wait 3 minutes, and then press. Complete drying time is 24-48 hours.

I didn't wait 3 minutes when gluing the screen. I was afraid that later it would not fit tightly into place. The main thing, in my opinion, is to ensure good pressure and complete immobility for a long time.

The glue was the most problematic thing when ordering. I ordered it 3 times!

First time for 50 rubles. I waited 2 months, he didn’t come. The money was returned to me.

The second time I ordered for 67 rubles from another seller. 2 months have also passed. I opened a dispute again and, without waiting for the result, I ordered a third time from a third seller. The money was returned to me. And then I still received the second parcel. It didn't work out well.

I'll get another glue soon, or maybe I won't. The problem is that all three orders are untraceable. I do not know why. Maybe it's their cheap price. Or because it is an adhesive (liquid) and cannot be delivered in the normal way.
