Let's figure out how to synchronize the headphones with each other so that both, left and right, are connected. This instruction answers the question, what to do if one of the TWS headphones stops connecting to the second one or to the phone? The three steps below will help you connect both headphones to your smartphone or computer. Synchronizing two headphones will take 3 minutes.

The instructions are relevant for Airpods, Samsung, Redmi Airpods, Honor and other TWS models.

Resetting TWS headphones to factory settings

To understand that the headphones do not work in pairs:

  • go to “Settings”, select the “Bluetooth” tab;
  • the list of devices available for connection will display earbuds with the same name, but different marks at the end: “L” and “R”.

Important! Depending on the model, only one earphone can operate in mono mode. If out of sync, the second one will not play sound.

We create pairing by rolling back the headset to factory settings.

  1. Place the earbuds in the case.
  2. In the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone, player or computer, remove the connection to the headphones so that this does not lead to repeated desync.
  3. Open the case and take out the left and right earbuds at the same time.
  4. Press and hold the control keys on both earplugs for 5 to 15 seconds.
  5. During this time, their indicator light should light up and go out several times. When it stops flashing, the headphones should be returned to the case.

Attention! Some models of wireless headsets return to factory settings by rolling back the case, for which there is an additional key on it.

General rules

  • The corresponding module responsible for the wireless connection (Bluetooth, NFC) must be enabled on the smartphone.
  • For headphones, you may need to activate pairing mode.
  • It is advisable that the devices be in line of sight at a distance of no more than 10 m.

Wireless headphones are the best choice for those who play sports. It is advisable that they be protected from moisture - like, for example, this model Awei A885BL.

Perform headphone sync after factory reset

After resetting the settings as described above, take the headphones out of the case and they will turn on automatically. In some models, you will need to press a button on each device to turn it on.

Once removed from the case, the LEDs will flash and they will automatically synchronize with each other. After this, the indicator on the left earphone will go out, and the one on the right will remain blinking. This will mean that the wireless earbuds have automatically paired with each other and are ready to connect to your phone.

All you have to do is turn on bluetooth on your phone. In the list of found devices, find the right earphone (for example, its name may look like “Redmi AirDots_R”). Pair with it to allow wireless devices to connect to your phone.

The case does not charge from the headphones

It may vary on different models, but when the case is charging, the red indicator on it usually blinks. When charged, the indicator just lights up. If you connect the power but there is no reaction from the headphones and the case, then most likely it is not charging.

If there are problems with charging the case (aka box, case), then the first thing you need to do is replace the cable and power source. Connect the case via another adapter (from a phone, tablet). Get another cable. Typically a Micro-USB cable is used. I think you definitely have several of these cables in your home. If you need Lightning for charging (used on good copies), then you can even use the original cable from Apple.

Make sure the connector is fully inserted into the charging case. Be sure to try connecting power from the USB port of your computer or laptop.

Disassembling the case and checking contacts

If you have already checked and tried everything, but still nothing works, then you can hide the case and see if there are any problems inside. Maybe some wire is torn off, or something else. We do everything at our own peril and risk!

They are very easy to understand. You just need to pry one part with some sharp object. It is advisable to use a special plastic spatula to avoid damaging the housing.

Inside it looks something like this (using the example of Xiaomi Earbuds):

At the same time, you can check the contacts through which the headphones are connected.

And this is what a disassembled case of Chinese wireless headphones for $4 looks like.

If everything is in order there, the wires are not torn off, then the problem is either in the board or something with the battery. If you have a special tester, you can ring the contacts and measure the voltage in the battery. Perhaps it will be possible to figure out something and find the reason.

How to sync wireless headphones via Bluetooth?

Now, in order for TWS headphones to be paired with a phone via Bluetooth again, not one at a time, but together, they will need to be synchronized again. To do this, take them out of the case and turn them on - again, both LEDs (blue and red or white and red) will blink.

There is one important point to consider here. The fact is that in TWS headphones, most often one is the master and the other is the slave. That is, the main one connects to the smartphone, and the second one connects through it. Therefore, the first thing you need to take out of the case is the headphone that is the main one. If you do the opposite, then the secondary one can connect to the phone before the main one, and then they can no longer be synchronized and they can only work one at a time

In some models, activation occurs automatically. In others, you need to press the button or sensor on each of them once to turn it on. After 5 seconds, the double indication on one of them will go out and will remain only on the main one, which will directly connect to the smartphone.

If automatic synchronization via Bluetooth does not occur, then we repeat all the steps to reset the settings again from the very beginning. It happens that this has to be done 2 or 3 times.

That's it - your wireless headphones are now paired again and ready to go. With very rare exceptions, this instruction works the same for all models and types - both in-ear and earbuds “a la AirPods”.

There are also rarer cases when out of the box the headphones work one at a time and do not see each other. This is also due to the fact that when such models are launched for the first time, one of the modules must be designated as the main one. I came across these in CG Pods from CaseGuru. After turning them on, you need to assign a leader to them with a short tap on the sensor, after which they will connect to each other.

Connect two wired headphones to one smartphone

To listen to music through 2 wired headphones, you will need to buy additional equipment. Namely a special splitter. It is not expensive at all (from 60 rubles), but thanks to it you can listen to songs through two devices at the same time!

How it works? In general, it can be compared to the design of a computer surge protector. That is, from one audio connector, the user gets 2! By the way, using this device is quite convenient!

Which of the presented solutions do you use? Or do you know a unique way to connect, for example, wired and wireless “ears” together? Write about it in the comments, we will be happy to read them!

What to do if the headphones work separately

If the Airdots still do not synchronize and connect to the phone as independent devices, you need to roll back to factory settings. This is the simplest procedure possible.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Remove the inserts from the container.
  2. Press and hold the button (touch or mechanical).
  3. Hold it for 30-50 seconds. The indicators will light red and a double beep will sound.
  4. We put them back in the case and take them out after a few seconds. If the white indicator blinks on only one, it means that the reset helped and the synchronization was successful.
  5. Connect AirDots to your smartphone. The phone will detect the gadget as one device and the melody will come from two channels.

An alternative way to pair devices

Some devices require manual pairing. To do this, hold down the button of one of the headphones until the indicator blinks. Then do the same with the other liner. Wait until both headphones start flashing, then press the right device button twice. Now all that remains is to connect to the phone. These methods apply to synchronizing devices of any model. Despite all the variety and abundance of wireless headphones, the pairing procedure is very similar for all and does not cause any difficulties. Now you can definitely enjoy the sound of your favorite songs, carry on conversations and much more.

Other reasons for this problem

What to do if one earphone does not work? A frequent breakdown is the rupture of internal wiring. In most cases, this is due to the poor build quality of the headphones. No special skills are required to solve this problem.

Many users ask the question: what to do if one earphone does not work? That is, during listening, there is a clear sound failure from one earphone. Or it is heard every other time. In this case, you need to deal with this issue immediately, it is better not to delay it. With timely repairs, it will be possible to avoid complete damage to the headphones. This reason is one of the most common. And it occurs due to careless use of headphones: the user often bends the wire. If a break occurs near the base of the wire, then there is only one way out of this situation - cut the wires.

Then check and connect to the gadget. Now it’s worth carefully studying the sound. If there are problems, including intermittent noise, then it is worth disassembling and studying everything in detail again.

Many people buy expensive headphones, thereby risking being deceived. When choosing a device, you should take into account its type and technical parameters. Wireless headphones are very popular today. But the demand for models with wires does not even think of falling. Because wireless ones have a huge disadvantage: a lot of weight and a limited signal.

What other answers are there to the question: “What to do if one earphone doesn’t work?” There may be a rupture in the earphone itself. The problem can be solved with a screwdriver or a small knife.

Let's explore the internal contents. The earphone has a special membrane, and it is this membrane that can be bent or dirty. If there is a curvature, then you should try to straighten it yourself. And in case of contamination, the cause is eradicated with a regular alcohol solution: just wipe the membrane with smooth movements.

If the earphone on your phone does not work, you should not immediately throw away the device or take it for repair. You can carefully inspect the headphones and try to fix them at home. During repairs, it is worth paying attention to all the nuances of disassembling and assembling the product.

If the wire is damaged, it can be carefully soldered. The simplest cause of problems with headphones is, of course, an incorrectly connected plug. It is necessary to repeat this procedure again, and the effect will be without any repair. Often the problem occurs due to software. To fix it, you just need to go to the official website and follow all the necessary instructions. The headphones can also become clogged with earwax. In this case, you just need to carefully clean them.
