Wireless headphones are very convenient. Usually they are used only with smartphones or players, paired via Bluetooth. However, they can also work with computers or laptops. When using wire-free headphones, there is no need to untangle the wires; there is no fear that the cord will break at the most inopportune moment and the user will be left without headphones. Connecting to a desktop computer or laptop relieves the user of these problems.
How to connect bluetooth headphones to a computer or laptop? Let's try to answer this question. Wireless peripherals are connected to the PC via Bluetooth. However, you first need to find out if your computer has a built-in adapter.
What you need to know when connecting Bluetooth headphones to your PC
On your computer, you must pair the Bluetooth module with the wireless communication module installed in the headphones. Laptops and tablets have built-in Bluetooth hardware, but what about computers that don’t have it? You need to purchase it, buy it, and before that, familiarize yourself with the range of action.
There are two adapter options:
- The PCI module is installed directly on the motherboard. There are many options in stores, from compact ones with minimal functions to large ones with a wide range of capabilities with built-in Wi-Fi routers antennas for receiving and transmitting data. These modules require unoccupied space on the motherboard with a PCI port.

- An external adapter connected to the USB ports on the system unit has fewer functions than the PCI adapter described above, and the speed for transferring information is weaker. But there is one advantage - to connect it to a computer, there is no need to disassemble the system unit, but you just need to insert the module into the USB port on the front or rear panel of the system unit. The appearance of such an adapter resembles a mini flash drive.

Other Applications
Bluetooth technology can be used to minimize wired connections between devices. For example, stereo systems, printers and computer mice can be connected without cables, making their use more comfortable. Such opportunities are especially relevant in offices, when a printer located in a separate room is connected to several computers at once. At home, Bluetooth allows you to achieve excellent surround sound from a stereo system by placing speakers almost anywhere. Sources:

- Internal adapter. These are expensive, powerful modules inserted into the motherboard connectors. Antennas are provided to strengthen the signal.
The first option is the only way to equip a laptop with a Bluetooth module.

Since a huge number of desktop computers and laptops still run on Windows 7, and almost everyone has wireless Bluetooth headphones, I decided to make a separate article in which I show the process of connecting Bluetooth headphones to Windows 7, and talk about solving the most popular problems. which often arise during the connection process.
I have already written many articles on the topic of connecting Bluetooth devices, including headphones. And in the comments, visitors very often write that they cannot connect Bluetooth headphones specifically to a computer on Windows 7. They work with other devices, but there are some problems with the seven. Either the system does not see the headphones at all, or they connect but do not work. Windows 7 does not see them in the sound settings, or the driver is not installed during the connection process. Very often, after connecting, headphones or a Bluetooth speaker are displayed with a yellow exclamation mark. And during the diagnostic process an error appears that the driver could not be installed.
The computer does not recognize wireless Bluetooth headphones
Main reasons:
- low battery. When you turn on the headphones, the LED on the case lights up; if this does not happen, connect the charger and start the wireless device. Also, the reason for the headphones being discharged can be charging them from a non-working USB port on the computer;
- headphones are not included. If you forget to turn off your headphones after listening to sounds, although they support standby mode, it still drains the battery. Which causes the device to turn off. Put it on charge and preferably through an outlet;
Headphones may discharge due to long periods of inactivity.
- The headphones have not fully paired with the PC. In case of intolerance when pairing devices via a wireless communication channel, you began to turn Bluetooth on and off on your headphones. This will cause the program to crash when installing the required drivers. Let the computer complete its actions with the connected device;
- The headphones are on, but Bluetooth is not. After turning on the headphones, you should use the Bluetooth module itself to listen to sounds from a third-party device, for example from a computer. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds. This will activate the wireless function;
- The communication receiving device is located outside the range of Bluetooth activity. Wireless coverage has a certain signal radius, which can be obstructed by reinforced concrete walls, cars, and trees. Please keep this point in mind when starting up your headphones. Bluetooth is not designed for a powerful radio signal, but it saves electricity;
- defect in the headphones. Defects can be multifaceted: the start button is held for more than 10 seconds and it is difficult to turn on the headphones, the built-in battery is not of high quality (10 minutes in listening mode and turns off), interference is created when the Bluetooth module is faulty, water can also be the culprit due to moisture getting on unprotected electronic elements on the device.
Helpful Instructions
JBL headphones are just a special case of all wireless headphones. What I'm going to describe here is largely the same as what I've already created before. And there will be almost no differences. But in those articles there is an analysis of a specific situation, which means there will be more details. JBL is almost no different from other manufacturers, so I strongly recommend that you read these articles:
I suggest going over the rest very briefly.
After the first pairing, to continue using the headphones you usually just need to turn them on. Once turned on, they automatically pair with the currently turned on device. If there are several of them (for example, a computer and a phone are available), the headphones may accidentally connect to any of them - so you may have to turn off Bluetooth somewhere first .
