In this article I will tell you why there is no sound on the iPhone when receiving an incoming call or receiving an SMS. Let's figure out what settings need to be made to restore functionality to the phone.
This article is suitable for all iPhone 13/12/11/X/8/7 and Plus models running iOS 15. Older versions may have different or missing menu items and hardware support listed in the article.

To solve this problem, you need to check the volume switch on the left side of the iPhone. If this switch is set to silent mode, then you just need to move it. When there is an incoming call, the music will play again.

To reset to original settings, you will need to reset all settings. After this, the personal data saved in the phone will remain, and the settings will be updated to factory settings.
Also, sometimes a problem occurs when launching a certain application: the sound starts to disappear or disappears immediately. If the problem is not in silent mode, then most likely the problem will not disappear until a new version of the program is released. You will either have to remove it or put up with a malfunction.

Only one external button located on the left side of the case will help with this. To turn on sounds and notifications, you will need to move it to the top position, and turning it off will require the opposite action. - The headphone jack is damaged or dirty. The problem is eliminated by replacement or cleaning, depending on the diagnostic results.
There may also be problems with other components. For example, the problem may be in the operation of the cable that is responsible for the functioning of the speaker. To diagnose the causes and troubleshoot problems, you should visit a service center.
