Today, the radio is an integral part of any car. At the same time, it is multifunctional, acting as a clock, radio, subwoofer and more. It is important to note that they require additional configuration. If this is not done, the radio will only be able to play music.

The process of setting up a JVC radio is not complicated, but it has its own characteristics. Therefore, before starting this work, you need to familiarize yourself with the device itself, its characteristics and properties. This will help you accomplish your plans faster and easier.

JVC radio

Where is it used?

The technology is widely used and the A2DP profile can be found in a variety of devices, such as smartphones, tablets, PDAs, laptops, speakers, headsets, wireless headphones, speaker systems, Smart TVs and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. You can connect your phone to a radio or any other digital equipment if A2DP is among their characteristics, and also control playback. The standard supports operating systems Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and mobile OS Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry. The ability to transmit audio requires synchronization of devices, for which you need to enable A2DP Bluetooth on the device and select a receiver, we will consider how to do this below using Android as an example. Equipment compatibility with A2DP technology allows you to connect devices regardless of their model and manufacturer, which is very convenient.

JVC radio: device features

JVC products have been known on the market for a long time. It has established itself as a high-quality and multifunctional equipment. In addition, this manufacturer is known for unusual head units.

So, all JVC car radios have a non-standard appearance. Basically, it is quite simple, but this does not in any way affect the functional capabilities of the device, which can surprise any music lover.

There is one small drawback. It lies in the fact that the buttons on the console are plastic and painted silver. Therefore, some people mistakenly think that they are made of aluminum. In addition, the display shows the file name, but not in Cyrillic. This causes a lot of inconvenience for Russian users. As for the controls, the radio is quite simple. Anyone can cope with this task, even an amateur.

What is the difference between LDAC and aptX

LDAC technology is considered advanced, it maximizes the quality of audio with a bitrate of 990 kbps, eliminates interference and noise. This is achieved through the use of intelligent compression combination.

At different frequencies, the bit depth changes. Thanks to this, the volume of information sent increases, in contrast to the compression algorithms that are used in MP3 formats.

It is worth noting! The LDAC algorithm does not split the partial band (subband), it switches to frequency conversion. It follows that it uses a method somewhat similar to aptX, during which the PCM audio file is divided into several ranges with different bit depths.

All the pros and cons between aptX and LDAC:

  • The aptX algorithm has 4 subbands, and LDAC has 16. For the latter, you can add additional steps to smooth out noise transitions between bands;
  • aptX codecs rely on differential transmission to preserve data size. But as for LDAC, there is no data on the use of this function;
  • The LDAC algorithm, according to the manufacturer Sony, improves its subbands using source materials. The codec is able to pre-determine the file type and quality. This helps it adjust the packet size and bit depth;
  • The LDAC description states that audio files can be transmitted at speeds between 909 and 990 kbps. These criteria are noted only for this type of algorithm;
  • When using LDAC codecs, the 16-bit file passes without changes, but with the aptX algorithm there may be interference and distortion;
  • aptX has a constant throughput, but LDAC has a variable throughput. This is what allows the codec to work with bitrates, it all depends on the available devices, speed indicators, connection strength;
  • The bit depth criteria of Sony codecs are reduced, but the amount of compression and noise increases. And aptX algorithms always work with a constant bitrate.

How to properly set up a JVC radio: tips

Correct setting of the car radio is the key to its stable and long-term operation. Therefore, this process must be approached extremely carefully and responsibly. Moreover, to do this, you can contact a specialist, but if you want to save money, then try it yourself. As practice shows, the work is not difficult and anyone can do it.

You need to start by resetting the settings. After this, you can adjust the crossovers. It is important to coordinate all signal levels.

Once the music CD is inserted into the system, you can proceed to adjust the sound being played. To do this, you need to use the AudioControl function. She will help you complete this work as accurately and efficiently as possible.

Only after these measures have been completed can you listen to the audio system. In this case, it is worth using the various variations that the device offers. It is also worth adjusting the sound of the speakers, which are located on different sides. This will allow you to get the best sound picture and high-quality sound from the radio.

How to set the time on a JVC radio?

A clock is a fairly important function that a radio has, intended for use in a vehicle. Modern man is forced to constantly monitor the time, so it is very convenient when it is played in a car.

Of course, the manufacturer does not set the current time upon release. Therefore, the watch owner needs to know how to set the clock on the JVC radio and do it himself. Our step-by-step instructions will help you with this.

The first step is to enter the audio device menu. Then you need to select the Time item, in which the main setting of the current time will be carried out. The output configuration appears on the display. It can be 24- or 12-hour. In addition, you must select the Moscow zone or the corresponding region of Russia in which you live. All devices are automatically set to London time.

Next, you need to use the Settin item. It is used to set the time in hours and minutes. To save the data, you will need to use the Save command. This way you can adjust the current time.

The display does not always display the time automatically. But this can be fixed. A hotkey will help with this. You will need to press and hold it for a few seconds. Thus, the device will switch to playback mode of the current time on its display. In addition, you can periodically view it by pressing the D/DISP button located on the control panel.

Set up radio on JVC radio

The presence of a radio in the radio gives many additional opportunities to its user. So, he can listen to new music, news, advertising, etc. Moreover, without time restrictions, at any time of the day or night. The main thing is to take the necessary steps to configure radio stations in the audio device.

To do this, you will need to attach an antenna to the device, as shown in the photo. It can be installed both inside the car and outside. The main thing is that it supports the AM/FM radio signal range. After this, you can proceed to the main setup. To do this, switch the device to radio mode. Use the up and down buttons manually or use the auto search function. Once configured, you can number them. This will simplify their use and reduce the time spent searching for the required radio station.

Setting up bluetooth on a JVC radio

The Bluetooth function allows you to pair with other devices and play information on the radio. The most striking example is the telephone. To configure this function, you must use the config button. In the menu that appears, find the Bluetooth function and turn it on. The menu-tune wheel will help in carrying out these manipulations. After this, you can add new devices to pair. This is done using the appropriate function. You can also search for a new device.

All settings of the car radio are simple, so they can be easily done on the go. But, as practice shows, it is still recommended to stop the car and perform this procedure. After all, it requires attention, which, when traffic is moving, is better directed to the road. This will help avoid a traffic accident

Why do we need Bluetooth audio codecs?

Bluetooth technology has made a huge career in recent years. As we said above, we can find it in more and more devices that we use every day. It has a lot of advantages. It is very common, inexpensive and easy to use. It can be used to transmit a wide variety of data, including, of course, audio. Defects? From an audiophile's point of view, it is important to emphasize that Bluetooth was not designed to transmit high-quality music.

The key word needed to understand the role of Bluetooth codecs is bandwidth. Technically speaking, this is the maximum speed and amount of data that can be transferred per unit of time. We can think of this as the width of the highway along which our sounds travel. The wider it is, the more information - details about sound, timbre, space - will pass from the transmitter to the receiver.

The simplest, most commonly used Bluetooth codecs do not provide much bandwidth. This means that the signal that ultimately reaches the loudspeaker, and therefore our ears, does not contain much of the information present in the original studio recording. As a result, the sound quality is lower.

As Bluetooth technology has matured and become more widely used in audio devices, many manufacturers have begun using—or developing—more advanced data encoding methods to transmit music.

Although AAC is not as popular as MP3, a large number of devices support this format. This applies to portable file players (e.g. Apple iPod), a group of stationary players/servers, a large group of cell phones, some game consoles, etc. A large number of computer programs for AAC playback are also available. On the other hand, the availability of AAC coding programs is poorer.

AAC includes solutions protected by patents, and the group of licensors consists of a dozen or so organizations. Licensing is handled by Via Licensing, an affiliate of Dolby Laboratories.
